[FE8] [Complete] Fire Emblem: The Endless Abyss

Welcome to the Endless Abyss!

Grab 6 friends and assign each to 1 unit in this rouge-like co-op Fire Emblem romhack (3 players with 2 units each also works quite nice)

Each unit is a build created by me and my friends so there’s alot of inside jokes, hopefully you can have fun with them too.

Summary

Rules
Any item in the supply is fair game even if someone else put it there, be nice!

Roll a spinner for the turn order for each run.

You can choose to pass your turn over to the next player, then after everyone has gone it’s back to your turn.

Both parties must consent to trade between each other but no need to ask to heal someone even if they don’t want you to!

Remember to save state often, you never know what could happen…

You have 3 uses of “divine intervention”(loading a state unrelated to a glitch) or none at all, it’s up to you.

Most importantly have fun! If going against some of these rules is your thing, all the power to you!

Features

  • After the first 10 turns every set of 10 turns has a different pool of enemies that can spawn along with a set boss every 10th turn
  • Many hidden secrets
  • 1 Single map that goes on for 100 turns (post game that goes on for another 80 turns)
  • Each unit has personal weapons and equipment
  • Lots of unique builds on enemies to keep things challenging
  • There’s also a harder version with 2 additional units
  • Every weapon has a skill

Can you reach the end or die trying?
(PS: Play with backgrounds on)

Updates: I edited the game and buffed a few weapons along with changing the skill of 1 personal accessory so feel free to use the new ups patch, I don’t think I’ll change the game again so don’t worry about having to update over and over.

I removed the shine from the royal guard on the top right in the normal version of the game so make sure to update.

I changed the skills on the man in red along with some other small changes in both versions.

I changed the weapons on a late game enemy.

OOPS this one’s kinda important, I forgot to add ranged axe animations for 0ffbe4t not that there are many of those but go ahead and grab the latest so you don’t just softlock with animations turned on.

I twerked alot of things I didn’t like, fixed a bug related to arena and fixed the one turn with ambush spawns. Make sure to update.

For some reason when i try the patched roms the emulator just closes

I just tried it and both versions worked so I’m not sure what the problem could be, what emulator are you using?

nvm got it to fix for some reason ever since I switched to a different laptop the emulator seems weird when it comes to having certain things in the filename shrug

Having fun with it, but maybe this is a skill issue for me lol. Slowly getting overwhelmed after 25-ish turns, but maybe I’ll crack it eventually. Played mutiplayer with a friend and we died horribly, so I wanted to try by myself to see any better ways.

I’m glad to hear you’re having fun with it and what would you say is kicking your butt at turn 25? Is it a certain enemy, you feel under leveled or a lack of a strong weapon?

More or less underlevelled, not hitting benchmarks. Maybe I’m not abusing every possible chance to shore up my combat through all the stat boosters. Also, I assume the tips for the weapons apply to the affinities for each character, but Blitzz (lightning) has no counterpart. Also the arena starts off super strong, with final boss enemies, which dissuades turtling and grinding early game.

If I could give advice; Feel free to use stat boosters whenever you get them and also to make units who are good in a stat (like spd) to great at that stat.

That weapons thing was just about opening the chests, they can have personal weapons that change how you play the map.

For the arena usually the crazy strong enemies are at the higher prices so shoot for lower if you aren’t ready yet. “Arenamaxing” as I find it quite funny to say isn’t a bad idea at the very start during the 10 turns (but also whenever you have down time).

Now on to a general good start I like to do I’ll even put it in spoiler text in case anyone doesn’t want to know

I like to use professor, blitz and ry to clear out all of the top to make sure they get to level 10, you can use 0ffbe4t to help out with 1 enemy but he’s just there to chill.

After that I kill the royal guard using professor and blitz to heal him then I grab the chests there, while this is happening I use fortune and dia to take care of the area where the “man in red” appears (opening the chest, talking to “man in red” and buying weapons I find useful (longbow, flex, 2 shines and a thunder) then I keep both of them in that middle area killing anything over the wall.

This nets dia alot of exp while fortune could arena grind or what have you, finally I move toward the top right to grab the chests there as my first order of business.

I buffed supports by a little bit so staying within 3 tiles of friends really helps out.

As a side note I’m really interested in watching someone play my game if you don’t mind streaming it or whatever.

I can, but it’ll be a while later, maybe in a few hours?

when ever you’re ready

Wahoo 200 downloads!

I was wondering, Should I make Dexkharin (the sword) breakable in the EX version? I’ve never played a run without fortune being alive and using that weapon alot in the late game so I’m curious if it would change much.

Holy cow 300 downloads!
