Ah, I love some good foreshadowing.
Hello! I am completely remaking Fire Emblem: Emulation Theory from the ground up. Making it super deluxe, like the album the title is inspired from.
I wanted to have the game ready for FEE3. I really wanted to. But I am at the most complicated semester of my career and have negative time each day.
Anyways, I’m announcing this today because FEE3’s schedule came out and I am going to participate in it! I had tons of fun making this year’s submission, and I hope you’ll like it once it comes out November 5th
Emulation Theory - SUPER DELUXE
This hack’s going to be a full rework, changing every single aspect of it. It’s turning out amazing, and I can’t wait to finish it! Here’s a few noteworthy things about the remake:
- Every single dialogue is being rewritten. I know the grammar was a huge issue in the 2021 release, so I’m making sure to leave no horrors from that version by completely rewriting all the story. Most of it remains the same, perhaps with better wording or other jokes.
- Every single cutscene will get reworked. Specially the first chapters have a lot of broken scenes; weird music choice, fades that don’t work, wrong camera angles… So again, I’m working on it.
- Unit and class rebalance. The original hack diverged in its class system when compared to vanilla. It made some arguably good decisions (wyvern knights should NOT wield only lances), but some horrible ones for the sake of balance. I aim to give every single unit a feeling akin to vanilla, but improved.
Paladin Seth… finally…
- Every chapter gets a touchup! This varies from chapter to chapter, of course. Some of them get just a few cosmetic changes, but there’s a lot of changed gimmicks and layouts, and even a few complete reworks. For example, two of the most broken maps in the 2021 original release, chapter 4 and 6, got their original gimmicks back and working properly!
Most importantly, the optional chapters are now proper chapters and not just filler maps. They’re also no longer optional since the objectives to get them were not interesting.
- A better feel of the hack as a whole. I’m working to make you feel like you’re going through all three games while playing. A lot of small changes were made to help with this feel: the music choice for the cutscenes, the backgrounds… Even the soldiers!
At the same time, the contrast between Magvel’s portraits and Elibe’s wasn’t something nice for the eyes, so I’m normalising and making everyone have FE8’s (better) colour scheme!
You know this nothing like canon FE6. Not because of the Skill System or the stat screen being Sacred Stone’s, but because Dorothy is being used
I have a few things I want to add before leaving.
I need feedback! I made a forms for people to fill and help me with several aspects of the game (from writing to gameplay balance to other decisions…). There’s a lot of items in the form, but I made them all optional so you can just not answer anything you don’t feel confident about or don’t remember. All but the first question, of course, which is if you played the game or not. Please, if you want to give feedback or check some marks, give it a try!

If you want to help me make this hack, send me a DM over Discord (or PM here in FEU) and I can give you an early access version of the game for you to try! Currently, I’m working on chapter 11, and I want to have a demo up to chapter 15 for FEE3 to make public.
Thank you for reading! See you in the FEE3!
(Regarding my other hack: Crimson Eclipse entered a hiatus due to severe story block. I might change the campaign altogether. Work on The Tales of The Conquerors will resume after Emulation Theory (SUPER DELUXE) is completely done)
