Thanks for the info and yeah it was the text that was bugged
What is the support limit? Is it like vanilla?
No, the support limit is unlimited B supports with only one A support.
He did not properly get recruted, is there a way to fix this? Also in my game Pelecaye always gets killed in the scene so why can he be picked?
The bug mentioned here was fixed on a recent patch. If you redownload and play through the interlude again, then that should fix the issue.
thanks!
Hello! I’ve really enjoyed playing this game so far. I haven’t done Thracia before, but I like the Capture and other such mechanics.
One thing I noticed is that I am consistently able to steal bows from enemy units. Is that intended? When I would try stealing from non bow users the tooltip says I can’t steal weapons. But bows are a weapon, so I was confused about that
You can steal any weapons (including equipped weapons) if your thief’s con is equal to or exceeds the weapon’s weight. Please read the guide in full for details on these mechanics’ changes.
Does anybody have any tips on being able to utilize Cromar? He’s really good but I can’t justify fighting in a fog of war every chapter I have him deployed.
There are no tips... Will you walk the well-trodden path of the light, or will you forge a new path into darkness with Cromar as your shepherd...? You know what you must do.
Just buy torches and don’t deploy cromar if the map seems too big brain for fog to be manageable. If that’s all of them, chapters are designed to be more than manageable without him, so feel free to skip him for a more traditional experience.
Cromar is a very context sensitive unit, and you probably don’t want to attack with him right away. His high con/move made him good for shove and capture inventory management, and you can preserve your vision until you need to kill an enemy or take a dangerous enemy phase, at which point you have an extremely powerful hero with an immortality prf in the back.
Chapters I think he’s good for
Chapters 8, 9, and 11 are early enough that he doesn’t have much of any issue just soloing whole sections. Chapters 7 and 10 are a bit close quarters for fog imo
Chapters 12 and 13 are good for him assuming you dont break him out right away, but 14 has a lot of flier reinforcements you won’t know the exact timing of with fog.
I’ll leave the rest of the mid-lategame deployments up to you, but bring him in 23. You’ll realize why you should.
I have a slight idea for the weapon rank issue, make the “heavy” weapons grant more wexp the heavier it is capping at 3, while the basic tomes grant more wexp then their heavier counterparts.
The idea being, for physical fighters, training with a heavier weapon usually yields better results once you go back to a lighter weapon. Whereas for tomes understanding the more common tomes grants one an easier time when using more advanced tomes due to similarities in the underlying structure of the channeling methods for casting.
Thanks for the tips. How you presented him makes me for sure want to use him, thanks for that!
Thank you so much for the tips! He’s such a unique character I’d feel like I’m not making the most out of the hack if I don’t use him. Probably the most niche/unique character I’ve ever seen in a Fire Emblem game so big thanks to whoever created him!
So real quick a question, in chapter 18 everyone i brought was unavailable to deploy in chapter 19, and I don’t mean they were fatigued or greyed out in selection they just straight up disappeared.
So i wanted to know if this was intentional because chapter 19 talks about getting separated or if this is a bug and I have to update my patch
It isn’t intended to lose all of those units, no. I tested it myself right now, and the 18 → 19 transition appears to be fine with the current patch. If you replay 18 after updating, it should be fine, assuming it isn’t an emulator issue.
Thanks once again for a speedy reply
Just wanted to say this project is awesome! I was wondering if you could put up a file detailing hidden events, promotions, and personal weapons. I know I definitely missed stuff in my first playthrough.
I might do a unit review later, but for now I’d like to say some characters might need a buff like Nora, Mink, Jenny, Varga (I know he gets a PRF). They don’t have any skills or Vigor, which I value much more than PCC. Longxia is an exception to this because she has insanely high speed, and I usually end up giving her the Azurium skill due to her relatively high res lol. I just want a way to differentiate these units instead of thinking, “Eh you have no skill or vigor, I’m not interested in you.” I’d love it if others would do unit reviews. Is there a discord for this project where character tiers are discussed?
Hey, glad to hear you enjoyed the hack. I wouldn’t mind adding a “secrets” document at some point, as there are definitely quite a few things that someone could miss playing blind.
In general, I’m not thinking too much about balance changes at the moment, and as long as the units are at least usable, there probably won’t be any until further down the line when the dust settles and a good number of people have played through the hack.
There isn’t currently a discord, but I may make one in the future. Tiering discussion is fun to see as a dev, so it would be cool to see people’s opinions on units.
TBH Mink’s already in a good spot imo, he has good bases, high promo gains, and a good class, he actually had to be nerfed before release (his mag growth was 40 rather than 20, which resulted in it being easy for him to cap all of his offenses)
