Not really no, I can simply work around it for example by giving the two a door key each, then putting a few more keys that can drop from other enemies, on Another Journey.

he isnt needed to be a thief but him being a thief is a major part of your early game economy
AND it helps in Sylvester mode(lyn mode)
just know you’ll be Matthew with 5% less growth
