[FE13] Awakening Second Seal Hack: Pavise Version and Aegis Version

Download files here!

Over the last several months, I’ve really gotten into playing Awakening with a particular ruleset: hard mode, no pair up, no reclassing. It really makes the game play more like a traditional FE game, with a much more distinct cast and the stat parity between player and enemy units being just right. In fact, I did so many runs of this that I’ve used the whole cast long term now, and I felt like I kinda exhausted my options a bit.

Thus, I created this quick little hack more for myself than anything else. All units start in one of their second seal classes. Since everybody has two reclass options, I made two versions: Pavise Version and Aegis Version (let’s call it Pokemon gen 13). See below for how all the classes are distributed.

NOTE: True to my preferred ruleset above, this hack was meant to be played on hard mode with no pair up and no reclassing. To that end, I made one extra change beyond all these class edits: Robin now has Hit+10 instead of Veteran. I highly recommend also playing this with my rules since I just think they’re really fun and interesting, but you aren’t required to do so. But you’re gonna have to live with no Veteran if you do use pair up.

Instructions on how to apply these hacks are in the download folder, but to state them again: just right click the rom in your emulator menu (Citra, Lime, Azahar, other fruit-themed programs) and select “open mod location.” Then copy and paste one of the romfs folders into there, and you’re good to go. Hope you enjoy!

now if only awakening had an armored flier that tiki or nowi or a guy w/ support w/ nowi could access. yes I like seeing a stupid amount of indicators in the top right of the bottom screen for big number reasons what of it.

Is that… Awakening running on a phone? That’s incredible
I actually would like to play this, do you know if it works on a physical 3ds?

Oh yeah, I was doing test runs for this on mobile citra.

It should work just fine on a physical 3DS if you already homebrewed it. You’ll just have to install it through luma how you would with any other mods. This tutorial ought to walk you through it.

Thank you!

Would you recommend this to someone who hasn’t played Awakening before? (Thought about it a couple times, just doesn’t look that appealing. I’m a much bigger fan of classic fe)

Well, no, if you’ve never played Awakening before, play vanilla first. Don’t play some hack for your first playthrough.

Unless you’re talking about my personal rules (hard mode, no pair up, no reclass). If that’s the case and it sounds appealing to you, then give it a try. I think you should still play the game at least once without any restrictions, just to understand the game yourself. But I obviously love playing by these rules a lot and I recommend them to anyone who’s interested.

What emulator? Or PC?

There’s various 3DS emulators out there, named in the main post. Use whatever works for you.
