Chapter 3x or 4 is done. @BigMood can u let me know what’s the chapter number so that I can change it in the docs?

Internally I consider “Moist Orb” to be 4i and “Chaos Unfolds” to be 4. The interludes can come before or after the chapter they “interlude for” and are numbered according to the chapter they’re narratively attached to.

Got it, if u r working on ur hack again, I’d suggest adding a chapter and a number before the name of your chapter.

Finally got to beat the game, I became so addicted due to the absurd combo potential I can cook

One of them is with Dooblerino, here are the steps

Dooblerino combo
  1. Bring REDACTED, Bpat, and any Levin units or whomever that can boost Dooblerino’s Mag, final Atk, or Damage (only REDACTED and Bpat are mandatory)
  2. Have Dooblerino move, do anything
  3. Have REDACTED use Critical Moment on Dooblerino, make sure Dooblerino is in a space where all the aforementioned boosts are active
  4. Activate Bpat’s commands of Rune of Dies and Rune of Mercy
  5. Have Dooblerino use Thoron right after activating Bpat’s commands

Getting back into the game after not playing for 8 months, the UI is genuinely concussing, excellent work as always.

Is the right side of The Gale Force only recruitable by a trained Lesk/Rye? Trying to get close to a one turn, I have the first three pods on the left down, and I figure Camdar can probably dismantle Cadbury’s group (since idk who recruits them), and that leaves just Tweed and the right side, who I’ve got no clue on since Lesk/Rye aren’t strong enough to recruit, I guess

They can also be recruited by Max, but yeah

How many chapters does the game have? At the route split and considering starting over to use different units and get used to the new ui

With the internal numbering it has about 22 chapters, although one of those chapters is actually three separate chapters and another is itself many times.

Hey Bigmood, just finished Server 72 (Peak! Review & Bug Report coming soon… ish. I’m really enjoying Dies rn) . Found some bugs + Misc stuff, would really appreciate some clarification. Very hard to tell what is intentional trolling in this project, Poe’s Law and all.

Bugs & Questions

When a unit is in a car, you can’t check their stats by scrolling up/down to them.
Zombies display some sort of Aura 3 when hovering the cursor over them, but I have no idea why or what that is.
Vending Machine’s toggle costs 20 MAG to turn off (I think, at the time I thought the number on the banner was MAG and that number went down by 20). When the Vending Machine is in a vehicle, where does the MAG cost subtract from? Still him?
It is not immediately clear what the number on the banner under JLPT is for. It’s somehow tied to MAG since it goes down when the Vending Machine loses MAG, but other than that I cannot tell by adding up stats.
Hit, Avoid, Crit, and Crit Avoid calculations are very unclear. I feel like I’ve tried every combination of stats, stats/2, stats*2, etc and I have no idea what it is.
Krim can be damaged by bows and guns? Aren’t they Physical and thus should be parried? Tooltip should specify “Melee” or whatever the condition is.
Chapter 4 (Village Raid):
In the preps screen, the “shadow” effect on the borders of the screen while the menu is displayed, is shifted down 1 tile.
Sphealnuke’s unit displays Driver: N when he is, in fact, the driver. Right?
Why not have as many save slots as Server 72, especially with the Battle Save system? :frowning:
MAG is not labeled as MAG/Magic in the tooltip, it’s only described as “The Power of Mysticism” so it really confused me what the heck MAG was until Rivian gained +1. Same for BLK.
After that twist happened, the music completely shut off at player phase start. Persisted through battle save → load. When attacking the boss, the usual popup for a music change happened but still no music played. EDIT: After a game over and reload, it began playing normally again. Then after the Monster Phase transition, it stopped again. And also when I reset back to the main menu, the music doesn’t play there either. Closing and reopening the game fixed it all.
If a settler is rescued prior to the twist, they remain a green unit afterward but there is no Green Phase so they won’t act lol. I wonder what happens if you rescue the elder, could be a bug. I dropped a settler to his death to bait a bike lmfao.
Krow’s action refresh should specify 1/Turn.
My Soulhawk, when entering a building (with a unit rescued, if that may matter) did not get to Canto+ afterwards. Same with Rivian in chicken form, no rescue. Is this intentional?
Vehicles, when having no passenger, still display a red space around their movement range as if they have a 1-range weapon available.
When looking at a tooltip of a stat while in “Growth Display Mode”, the “Base Value” displayed is the growth. This isn’t true of HP, which continues to display the HP value, not the growth. Therefore it’s impossible to know Quroc’s HP growth as it displays as S.
Rivian’s money skill should say “to all remaining units” instead of “deployed units” as it applies to new recruits who were not deployed, and not to units who retreated due to Trauma or Fragile Liberal. Krow is going to be a VERY poor boy…

So far really enjoying it a whole lot. I’m laughing so much it might be making me play worse.

The Moris recruit is f***in awesome btw. Love how she uses her ability - I had thought I got a game over (as that is what happens in Server 72 and it would have totally made sense to troll us with the “just kill her” dialogue) and sighed, ready to complain about it here instead of writing this. Extremely pleasant surprise. The following turn the map’s twist happened, and the turnwheel prompt came up, which was an even MORE pleasant surprise. Incredible design, so cool for something so early into the game! Allowed me to reposition some units, especially to take over the tank the following turn.

many of these are unintentional gaffes that i am too lazy to fix, but i will at least let you know the intentional trolls

lol

krim getting owned by bows is a reference to the character in berwick saga that krim is based off
krim getting owned by guns is a reference to the “parry this, you filthy casual” meme
there are fewer save slots because of the battle save system. read: i’m a dick
the power of mysticism is the power of mysticism smh says so right on the tin
all self-refreshes (“galeforces”) are 1/turn

I am genuinely confused at how the Cuban Missile Crisis is possible. Are there units that comfortably live hits from the portaballista and/or deletion claws? Granted, I’m doing this map last, and with some shitty units as well, but unless there is a unit with unlimited siege combat that I can’t think of, this seems very tough.

Like, I’m sure I actually am just tackling this the wrong way, but I’m curious at what the intended solution is

cuban siege crisis is the one map where you’re explicitly told to bring good combat units and i think it’s probably the only one that can actually fold you if you underprep

you didn’t bring me did you because if so you might be cooked

I used the Skeleton Trio there

I wonder if Alex is strong enough to survive a hit from the deletion bugs (his skills suck so you want a way to remove these by being attacked by them)

I didn’t bring you, I do vaguely remember that dialogue now that you mention it, but it has been probably 5-7 months since I read it lol.

And yeah, I brought no one good, I had to do like an hour long preps because I forgot to bring a trained mercy unit, so I had to find a way to give enough power to Ramm to have a spare mercy for the shaman (not that I ever got there). Will likely either start the save over soon or just go back to the preps chapter and transfer over everyone good that I put on Galeforce except Camdar and most of the good units on Scythe (since I think Parr, Myself, and Krow can probably handle most of it)

Alex can, but you do then have to 50/50 to avoid losing the map instantly (which like, you can rig it, but still)

nope, it goes in order, so it’s always guaranteed you’ll lose sour loser and lose the map.

cam’s a good target for getting a few of the siege guys out, and with how the whole part with the deletion claws are you’re largely better off just blitzing them with ranged attacks in tandem with the shifting halls to block of as needed.

its definitely The Map where you need at least a few firm contributors cause theres a ton of work to be done and its not all cheesable. so if you didn’t bring a very combat-capable squad you’ll either need to finesse out a win with human wave tactics or hit the runback lmao

Unless it was changed recently, that’s not the case, I just played the map and lost neko arc pfp
