There is probably a fix for this, but we need a little more context for that.
Which character belongs the death quote to? Is it the main character? Is it a boss?
Could you show us a screenshot of the settings of the death quote and perhaps also the quote itself?

Okay, this gives some more clarity!
The setting look fine, which surprises me as I thought that perhaps a flag could be the problem.
Are there any other Caeda death quotes in the list of death quotes? Maybe that there’s another one and the game has trouble deciding which one of the two to use?
Are there any special circumstances surrounding the units’ death? Maybe something like that could be the issue?

I see, then I think it might just be a random bug caused by the ROM reacting in a weird way…
Is Caeda the only character this happens with, or does the death of another character trigger the crash as well?
This is a really interesting crash for sure. A possible fix could probably be to give the character a different death quote in the chapter maybe?
Could you try switching her death quote with the death quote of someone else? Maybe it’s a text thing.
If you are able to send a report7z, there would be more opportunities for people helping to know exactly what’s going on.

i fixed the issue. Basically the game crashed because it was loading the portrait from an invalid pointer
