Count 'em! Ten! We’ve hit double digit CYL, and our reward for this is two polls, one after another! Twice the ballots, twice the fun.
Before we get to the main event, we shall address the impostor in the room. The winners of the Shadows Cup will also get broken alts in Heroes. And presumably Shadows too. Everyone is eligible for this one, unless your name is Lyndis! She already has a Shadows alt. The winners of this contest are determined by move type. One infantry, one cavalry, one armoured, and one flying unit will each take home the honours of receiving a Shadows alt. There are four days of voting. Who do you think would be the best at social deduction?
Here’s my first vote.
The Main Event
Last time on Choose Your Legends, a pile of Heroes OCs won! This time, will a similar thing happen?
If Sigurd doesn’t pull it out of the bag this time, I’ll scream. And cry. And get mad. And express various other negative emotions. I’m not going to pretend to be neutral here. He has 1500 votes on Fomortiis, and I think that the Demon King’s vote is going to crash as the novelty factor wears off. Sylvain, third in the men’s category, has 5,000 votes fewer than Sigurd. Something absurd would have to happen. But absurdities can and do happen in Choose Your Legends. If you are a Jugdral fan, do not get complacent! Vote Sigurd!
After Sylvain, the Black Knight is surprisingly close to him - there’s only 400 votes in it. He may well prove to be a dark horse candidate. Diamant is the next highest, but his chances of victory are slim, unless the Engage fanbase entirely manage to unite around the one candidate.
As for the women’s side of the bracket, Azura stands as the lead candidate. A perennial top 10 member, yet rarely talked about in terms of striking for victory. Could this be her year? Ivy is next after her. If Engage wants to get a character in the CYL hall of fame, it desperately needs to focus on potential winners. Ivy kept the most of her vote compared to any other major Engage candidate: 96% of votes. Do you think the good people of Elyos need a place in CYL? Vote Ivy.

Rather grim reading. What’s not grim is Tsubasa going up by 3,000 votes. Tokyo Mirage Sessions, as usual, received no acknowledgement whatsoever in Heroes in 2025. Can the TMS fandom force IntSys’s hand? The plan is clear in this regard: vote Tsubasa and maybe, just maybe, the game will be acknowleged.
After Tsubasa comes Yunaka and Alear, who are proof of the dangers of vote-splitting. While there’s always the potential of a new Heroes OC appearing to run off with the trophy, and the characters of Shadows are going to enter the pool, I doubt they will make much of an impact. Fortune’s Weave, however, will. This may well be the last chance for several candidates.
