Hi, I have read the possibility of a remake of Holy war. Possibly for the switch 2. Because they do not want to make the same mistake as before that they release games at the end of the life span of a console, like with 776 iirc.
So what changes would you make to be modernize or have better game play? Or just leave it the way it is but with voice acting.
Exactly the same only with better graphics

Add more chapters for more story and flesh out characters
What ever but the maps they must be smaller.
Some gameplay mechanic change
Only a poll vote will not make justice, I will also post a reply

Also I found this about the release. This person says not happening. So Been almost September, has anyone heard, anything new?
I would personally prefer to have each map goal separated by a chapter cut; some cutscenes, etc. And maybe have GBA-style Supports where we can see the characters speaking on the map and itâs not just âThese units stood next to each other for 60+ turns, so now theyâre married.â
I think some gameplay features needs to get revamped or enhanced.
Maybe adding support but not making it a dating sim like newer games.
Adding an avatar is not a really good idea since like most of the avatar characters, it will steal the spotlight from the main lord for self insert bs.
In the end I donât have the best ideas so you donât have to agree with me.
Well, i donât want it to be FE4 HQ or just minor changes. I played FE4, i liked it, but i donât wanna just play the same game with shinier graphics.
The more radical the changes the better. I really am not fan of any of the current FE remakes because they are alll way too faithful. Yes, even SoV with the changes it brought.
Now, i am not saying ââLetâs abolish giant mapsââ, but more like letâs design them differently (no invisible yellow walls as an example). Game should be more flexible with the maps, objectives, and especially the enemy placement (especially those awful low quality high quantity enemy blocks). The game also needs to be balanced from the ground up again. My most requested change would be to change the inventory system to normal FE however because i the extra micromanagement was just a chore and the seperate money pool lead to heavy snowballing as only strong characters were able to get the money & Items. For Inheritance i hope they let the kids be able to inherit classes from their parents ala FE13/14 so players can make more fun pairings. This will add to replayability as well.
Story wise, i think Gen 2 needs to be massively improved. As much as i enjoyed Gen 1, i found Gen 2 story and characters to be a massive nosedive and on par with your typical ââletâs kill evil dragonââ FE, if not worse. FE4 was my 2nd FE, after Fates, and during the whole 2nd Gen my thoughts on the Story were ââThis is just Anankos 1995 editionââ. Make it less white & Black, more focus on the discriminated Loptyr, maybe add some story elements and characters from Thracia (Sara, Salem, Caias) to imrpove Gen 2 story. Also more Characterization to Arvis in Gen 1 to make him not appear like a total fool in Gen 2 would be cool.
Support system would be cool for characterization and pairing, also no Avatar unless he gets BBQâd as well.
My expectations are something akin to SoV tho, something thatâs way way way to faithful.
i really dont think a fe4 remake is gonna happen, but if it does this is more a hope than theory. but i desperately wish pursuit is treated as a proc skill, with the cut in pause and all
Itâs very likely that the FE4 remake might not even exist. The Engage leaker could have either (A) saw Emblem Sigurd and maybe even his map and thought that an FE4 remake was in the works or (B) lied for the purpose of getting the ninjas off of his back. Itâs a common practice for leakers to stuff their leaks with fake info. Alternatively, an FE4 remake might have been in the works but was silently scrapped in the early stages due to how similar FE4 is to 3 Houses.
With that being said, I feel like that some of the mechanics that distinguish FE4 are also some of the things that make it feel very punishing. The wallet system allows characters to have more identity beyond skills, classes, and stats, but its innate trading limitations combined with the limited number of villages can mean that just a few deaths can make endgame nigh-unwinnable (kind of like 3H, hoo wudda thunkit). And yet itâs so centralizing because pretty much everything else relates to it, from inheritance to weapon availability, and so on.
As for story, which is something that I doubt would be changed significantly, I feel that the game shoots its own message of âdonât judge the merit/worth of someone based on their heritage/religion/etc.â when the whole reason why the plot even exists is of an evil religion that wants to set up a scion for its evil god. Itâs not played for dramatic ironic purposes like Echoes; it just expects you to doublethink your way through Jugdralâs politics.
Another story element that doesnât get talked about too much is how much of the 2nd generation doesnât do anything. Everyone talks about how the Awakening kids and the Fates kids donât really do much in the story due to their variable plot recruitment, but to quote the old meme, âKaga did it first.â Unless youâre a canon kid (Seliph/Lucina/debatedly Shigure), youâre not going to be able to influence the plot by much. Even the likes of Ares and Nanna can get screwed over. FE4âs replacement units, on the other hand, have a more consistent place in the story with their fixed subplots.
It would be cool to have it in HD 2D Style kind of like the Dragon Quest 3 remakes instead of full 3d have the possibility of having 2D animations still be in the game
The âninjasâ heâs referring to are Nintendoâs legal team, which some often call the âNinteninjasâ; with how fast they will track a leaker down and slam them with a cease and desist letter or worse. So what leakers will do - especially Nintendo leakers - is they will intersperse fake leaks throughout real leaks to not make their accuracy 100%. Because a perfectly reliable leaker is someone who can also be 100% tracked down by a major company.
I think the biggest thing for such a idea would be to speed up some monotony. Like how in Gaiden, the game was clunky, but SoV made it very smooth by speeding up animations and giving enemy phase skip, and that made the game so much better.
