Fire Emblem romhacking’s been around for a long time. And for about as long as people have been making their own chapters, people have been having their favourite characters turn up at some point or another. The Last Promise does have Zoro from One Piece cameo, after all. Some hacks like OC Emblem openly take inspiration from far and wide (Marvel comics are prominent, for example), while others such as Code of the Burger King have secret characters (like Wario) from beyond Fire Emblem.
There was one time an FEE3 video got claimed (but not taken down) because its trailer was an edit of I think was the Lucky Star opening theme? You wouldn’t have had a ragefest entry go by in days gone by without the obligatory Reisen from Touhou appearance. Blitzes had original characters, canon FE characters, and random references here there and everywhere.
And well, I do this kind of stuff all the time - one glance at my hack catalogue should spell that out.
I have no doubt there’s plenty of other random cameos I’m forgetting about: there’s a lot of hacks and fan games out there. Why am I making this thread? Well let’s just say I’m doing some advance research for a potential International Hack Release Day project, and the theme involves the many cameos the fandom have inserted and crossovers the fandom have made.
My own hack S4S has a Leif and Nanna cameo where they discuss burning a forest. It also has some appearences of the crewmates from Among us. Next update will have some cameos from Super Thracia like Laufey.
I think Genesis has a few cameos from Elibe, and games like Grug are full of off handed references of characters
I kinda do this a lot.
One of my games was a PME where Hatsune Miku and Senator Armstrong exist.
Then there was another fangame that featured Nazrin and Kyouko from Touhou.
That is it I think.
Wow, less than I thought.
