I’ve been (poorly) splicing mugs together on-and-off since… 2006 or so, and while I don’t consider myself even remotely close to the luminaries of spriting, I do think I’ve made some improvements.
I wanted to start by sharing some of the mugs I’ve put together for my still unnamed FE8 project that I’m referring to as Project Tempest.
Please note that, at this time, these are NOT F2E or F2U as they are for my personal project.
Project Tempest
Caliban: Hey, that name’s familiar! The main lord of the story, Caliban is a Boatswain specializing in Anima and Swords. He is the nephew of the queen of Vespasio, so he is of noble birth but not a prince. He’s spliced together from a few different characters, but the facial hair was drawn and shaded by me.
Donovan: The secondary lord of Project Tempest and my oldest character who has lived in my brain since 2005 or so. He specializes in both Light and Dark magic. Likewise, spliced from several characters but the facial hair is drawn and shaded by me. The furs were especially problematic.
Adam: One of two “Jagens” of Project Tempest, a knight of Vespasio who is Caliban’s close friend and love interest. He’s a Great Knight. As you can probably tell, his main inspiration was Hector. Again, lots of splicing with a beard drawn and shaded by me. Can you tell I like facial hair?
Anne, Margaret, and Torvald: Anne is the queen of Vespasio and Caliban’s maternal aunt. Margaret and Torvald are her twin children and the heirs to Vespasio’s throne. There is a king of Vespasio, Britton, as well, but I haven’t made anything for him yet. Torvald’s moustache was mostly Elbert’s flipped, as I wanted his moustache to curl up.
Calpurnia: One of two primary antagonists of Project Tempest. Calpurnia uses Light magic primarily, and she is mostly Donovan’s enemy, as she killed his father Vanya 15 years before the start of the story.
Malcolm: The main antagonist of Project Tempest. Malcolm is the crown prince of the rival nation of Hapsbourg and Caliban’s enemy.
