Is the game ready to be played? I keep seeing epilogue chapters and talks about supports not finished, so I don’t want another surprise that forces to me start a new game… again.

Unfortunately Supports are still unfinished, I had to start working a more exhausting job that’s taking up all my free time these days, so I haven’t had as much for writing as usual.
The Epilogue Chapters aren’t anything that you need to worry about interrupting your game. As the name would suggest, they’re after the main game and more supplementary than any of the main chapters.
If Supports are a big important part of the game for you (like they are for me) it might be worth waiting, but unfortunately the next few months for me are going to be focused on the 10 hour shifts I have to work to pay rent.
I’d suggest playing now, because worst case scenario, supports can be rewatched in the support menu. Hope this helps you decide whether or not to wait <3

Supports are as important as dessert but I can make do without them, I was worried about Epilogue Chapters not being available after finishing the game but if you tell me I can play them then it’s okay.
Sorry to hear about your back-breaking shifts and hope it will get better!
EDIT. The items that summons Anna are meant to something other than enjoy an extra character? You mentioned that talking to all of them with Gio was something you kept count of so I wondered if those items had another use.

That’s something I planned for culminating in an extra gaiden that I ended up not doing. Still might do it later, but it’s on the deep backburner for the moment.

Ollie x Baxter support rank C is green but I can’t access it and it doesn’t show on the field either.

Is there a full base (shops and grinding area) past chapter 11? I remember you having doubts about implementing one, I’d like to know if chapter 11 is my last access to civilization since I can’t even max pre promotes there.

I’m guessing you’re using an old save that was past chapter 8.
I added extra gates to a number of supports so that you couldn’t unlock them on the chapter a unit joined, since it didn’t make much sense. The gates are all mostly unlocked during the chapter’s intro, so if you were past it already, it won’t be unlocked.
And there is another roam area, but it’s the end game hub area. I’ll probably add another roam hub to chapter 16 when I have time.

I started a new game(my last one in case something fails because this is the third time), currently finished chapter 7 and was asking because this game has something close to the level cap I love in a FE, you are only allowed to be 2 levels beyond the grinding enemies, that’s 10 at chapter 7 grinding area since enemies are at level 8.

I love your new exp formula as long as you aren’t stingy with the grinding areas since you can easily control the levels of the enemies.

I’m glad you’re enjoying it. I figured out a lot of cool skirmish things while I was implementing the final skirmish zone. I still need to retrofit it to the older areas, but I hope you like it when you get there.
In that case you just have to get to chapter 8 and then you should be able to progress their support.
I wasn’t thinking about grinding at 7’s finale, so maybe I’ll add a gate there, but that’ll be a future thing.

Sorry to rush you when you are busy with RL but I think the chapter 16 hub area+grinding zone is really important, I will play the game as it is right now but I have an inkling I’ll have to use the debug mode around that chapter.
My other playthrough will be in the “Hector” Mode you hinted, so I’ll enjoy the retrofits and whatnots at that time.

Hey there, just finished the game and had a great time. You got me really engrossed in both the story and the hook for any future content. That said, I encountered a number of issues, especially towards the end of the game, that I thought should be mentioned.

  1. Chapter 18 to 20 enemies don’t move and some don’t even attack on enemy phase. Mayhaps an issue in the AI implementation? I’m not sure about chapter 21 since I 1-turned it.

  2. Even though the listed objective was to defeat both Rodius and ???, the map ended when I defeated ???.

  3. Are you quite certain the players should have access to the gilded dagger? Because it’s beyond busted. I avoided using it throughout the game since using it doesn’t grant the user EXP (was that even intentional?), but I decided to let loose at the end for the giggles of it all. Nothing like warping to the boss to inflict 500 or so damage in a single blow.

  4. Also maybe the result of a bug, but my Reese seemingly randomly gained a bunch of stats upon reaching chapter 18. She was already my best unit, but her stat total went from around 140 to 200. Cazt inflicted a fat 0 damage on her.

  5. There were occasional typoes in the game, nothing egregious, but they do increase in frequency in the final few chapters.

  6. Magic Missile is also hilariously OP, though not nearly as much as the gilded dagger. I enjoyed using it immensely. That being said, I wonder if there’s any way you could balance it further. With nearly maxed out magic and copious amounts of the staff (plus dance support from S and charisma support from Reese), Kai dealt far and away the most total amount of damage in this campaign.

7, Have you done any testing on reaching 19x with your new exp formula?
I used the Jaigen a fair amount throughout the 10 to 11 first chapters and he barely managed to gain a level, which forced me into benching the guy. I tried feeding him some exp on chapter 19, given he’s a forced deployment there, but he can’t hit enemies at this point.

  1. Speaking of hitting, accuracy is disturbingly low in this game. Especially on mud maps, there were plenty of times where I faced down a stalemate in which neither side was able to land a hit on the other for several turns.

  2. I know supports aren’t fully written yet – that’s fine, I’ll return to read them later-- but I found it annoying that a bunch of support levels seemed to be bugged in some way or another. For instance, I was never able to activate a S rank support with Reese or August. The only two pairs I managed to activate S supports with were Kai-Adrienne and Hazel-Rosa, but doing so also locked them out of progressing their other support chains up to A.

Anyways, just a number of small to middling annoyances encountered. I stress again that I enjoyed the game and the writing. I think a lot of the units were great fun to use (I’m especially a fan of S and Kai), and I think the base concept itself was cool and unique.

  1. I haven’t tested them in a few updates, but I wouldn’t put it past LT to have changed something that broke the AI, or me in forgetting to remove something I put in for testing.
  2. You shouldn’t have been able to damage ??? without defeating Rodius, so I’ll check that out and make sure everything is working as intended.
  3. The Gilded Dagger is OP as hell and I’m well aware of it haha. It’s a bit of a running joke in the server. It’s definitely not going to be permanent, but it’s not high on my list of things to balance for sure haha.
  4. That’s probably something I left in for testing at a certain point. Should be a quick fix.
  5. Yeah, the last few chapters have had the least typo hunts since in general the first chapters have more eyes on them. But I’m always finding them and hurrying to fix them when reported. I love me a good typo screen shot reported in the server too haha.
  6. Magic Missile is an interesting one I hadn’t heard a lot about before now, but I’m glad you found something you liked. I really do want to give magic, including staves another look when I have time. I know FotF2 is going to have a really reworked magic system compared to this more traditional one.
  7. I’ve done some testing myself and other players in the server have as well. One was just barely able to reach the required level grinding all the enemies on Kree in 19, but it was a challenge. I do know he’s getting next to NO exp in the early chapters, and I’m not a big fan of that, so I might look to see if there’s a way to just slightly bump up his exp gain before promoted units start showing up to encourage using him a little more. I may also slightly adjust the exp gain just because that’s always a challenge lol
  8. Mud maps make sense since mud lowers accuracy a good deal. It’s also kinda hilarious. Another new weapon type I was thinking about adding was going to be a low damage guaranteed hit weapon that can’t crit. I was considering swapping out slim weapons for them. this certainly makes it seems like a better idea
  9. So at the moment the plan for Reese and August’s S ranks is to have them locked behind the final free roam area. Kinda having that confession/love scene trigger at the end of the game making it feel more earned. If people just wanna hurry to the ship, I might scrap that, but at the moment that’s the plan. And I just never bothered unlocking that gate since none of the S scenes have been written for them.
    9B. I’m so happy you S supported those pairs, they might be two of my favorite pairings lol. When you say their support chains wouldn’t progress to A, does that mean everyone else was locked at B? This might be an LT bug, so more details would be great so I can test on my end.

Finally got to give this a try. Im on chapter 2 and i like the unique story.

Also found out the prince dude is immortal in the prologue. Accidentally got him killed lol

Welcome to the start of the month, and the start of another FotF public release.
This month brings us a few bug fixes and the public release of Baxter’s Epilogue chapter.
IRL work still has me saddled with not much free time, plus any free time I do have I spend working on paid commissions, so unfortunately not a lot of time to work on Supports.
But once September hits, I should be a lot more available and that will translate to a lot more time to write. :hopefuleyes:

I’m cutting it close, but we’ve come to the first of the month and that means a new FotF release!
I’ve been pretty busy with work and preparing for a huge move, but I still got some work done on this lovely game of mine. And that means I’ve also got to release a new chapter this month for the public version.
This month Doe’s Epilogue comes to the Patron only version, and Adrianne’s epilogue comes to the Public version.
They’re both pretty interesting chapters with fun mechanics, and I truly hope they’re beatable haha.
As always, if you run into any bugs or other issues, please let me know here or on the discord and I’ll do all I can to fix them asap.

hello, i love the game, but could u please, please, please give us a recruitment guide of some sort? I’ve failed to recruit so many people, bc apparently many are not recruitable via reese or august and I have no idea what else I am supposed to do. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY in chapter 20, you know who, does NOT want to be recruited even though the entire team spoke with him, he still forced me to defeat him after everyone talked to him & after Cazt was defeated, + after the fight his support figure shows up as grey, as if he was killed/lost forever. How am I supposed to get him back? And also, why are the deerbrigades B supports with Reese locked? I’m at chapter 21

Hey, thanks so much for playing. There actually is a recruitment guide in the Tips & Tricks/ Credits .txt file that can be found at the same link as the game.
And the other issues you mentioned were bugs reported on the discord a few months back that I’m pretty sure I fixed. A new version is released every month, if you’re sure you’re playing on the most up to date version then let me know and I’ll take a look at the code to make sure something else didn’t break them.

Thank you! But, uh, how does one actually unlock skirmishes?? I’ve never encountered one once ahahaha + the guide doesn’t say how to recruit August back into the team, but maybe as you mentioned, it’s a bug? I’m playing the September release so I’m not sure… And thank you for making it!! It’s the best FE hack I’ve played so far haha I LOVE the gender bending option and all the supports, the time wheel and the different mechanics (eagle flight staff and offensive staves my beloved…<333), you really put in a lot of work and it’s been such a joy to play <3

Skirmishes are available during every free roam area after you recruit Rosa. In The first town you unlock them by talking to the soldier by the tavern. And then someone like that soldier will be available to point out each little skirmish entry point.
I’ll definitely go check out the chapter 20 recruiting mechanics again to make sure I didn’t break something between versions or an engine update crashed something lol. If I can’t figure it out, it could be a lot of help to get your save data from that chapter to see what you’re experiencing first hand.
Nothing makes me happier than hearing how much someone has enjoyed one of my games <3. And I’m not done yet, I’ve still got ideas I’d love to see added to this series so I hope you keep playing <3
