[BETA][COMPLETE][Lex Talionis] Fate of the Fallen - 21/21 Chapters & 13/13 Epilogue Chapters

GAME BREAKING BUG:
Chapter 9, the turn when Fantasy supposedly appears, the northern part trembles a bit then suddenly the game crashes. Checked multiple times with suspend+debug, crashes even when skipping the event.

I’m not seeing anything immediately dubious in the event, could you send me a private message with your debug file and/or a screenshot of the crash message? The debug file should be found in your AppData folder somewhere in the Rainlash folder.

there’s not Appdata folder or Rainlash folder, though there’s an App folder.

No worries, I found the issue, but in the future, I was referring to your User/Appdata folder. At least if you’re using windows that’s where the debugs show up.

Unfortunately this seems to be an engine side issue caused by an update, but hopefully it won’t take long to fix.

Yep, found it. Now I know for the next time.

New patch has been uploaded. Gotta love the quick turnaround time from bug report to bug fix. On another note, a separate bug that was resulting in some crashes when fighting with animations turned off was also fixed, so yippee for that too!

Now, fair warning, this is technically a new version of the engine, which means there might be some weird interactions with old saves.

Of course, it’s such a small update to the engine, that I’d be really surprised if it broke anything, but I’ll still keep my fingers crossed just to be sure.

All links have been updated with the newest version, and thank you so much as always for letting me know about the bugs, especially game breaking ones like this one <3.

Seems like a perfect fix; I tried my suspend save from before and it worked without an issue.
EDIT
Chapter 9, the Gaiden seems too hard to get without cheating, both characters rushing to you and are too strong to ignore.
Sidney’s second wind doesn’t work, Iodine almost killed them and it didn’t activate nor there was an option to use it.

I’ll look into Sidney, it was working last time I checked, but admittedly I haven’t checked in the new version of the engine.
Unfortunately if I do fix it you’d prolly have to reload to before you gained it to have the fixed version.
EDIT:Okay, so Sidney’s skill still works, I just realized that the wording doesn’t make how it works clear enough. Sidney’s healing doesn’t actually happen until the end of the phase.

As for the Gaiden, they won’t both rush you immediately. They’ll actually stay on their pillars until either attacked or Fantasy appears. The trick is to use an Immobilize or Disable staff on the one you want to keep alive. You get one from the upper left most cell of this chapter, it’s the perfect time for Kai to shine.

But yeah, I’ll be the first to admit the gaiden is hard to figure out the unlocking conditions, I may add some things to the shop in chapter 8 to make it a little more cheese-able if need be.

Thanks for the explanation on Sidney’s skill

I realized I had the disable staff after I cheated my way out of that…

Now I’m at chapter 11 and I have to say the lack of access to the camp is infuriating, I understand you might want to limit the camp for story purposes but is the only place to check supports and epiphanies.

That makes a lot of sense, I’ve been putting it off, but I’ve been wanting to add base functionality to the free roam hubs for a while now, I’ll do it now before I forget.

Sorry for the troubles, but it will help a LOT.

When grinding for the doggie I saw some mobs with a skill that gives reduced exp but that skill wasn’t in other battles, Is there a limit on times you can grind or something? I noticed enemies bellow your level give a lot less exp so I think that’s enough limiter.

So I recently changed the way exp is calculated, so yeah the limiting skills aren’t really necessary anymore. However, they are supposed to be hidden, so thank you for letting me know.

You’ll also be pleased to know that I’ve officially added the base to 7 and 11’s free roam sections.
The only real reason I’m on the fence about adding it to 5’s free roam is the fact that it would reveal the Epiphanies early.I could of course gate them all behind chapter 7 and just show them there, but then again maybe it would be a good idea to reveal the skill system to the player earlier.

While I wait for the upload. Is chapter 11 the last free roam with grinding map? I heard people talking about a coast city so I though that would be the next stop and the last chance to promote units.

At the moment it’s the last grinding map until endgame, but I’ve played with the idea of implementing another one at 16. I was worried about adding too much grind availability, but with the new exp curve, that doesn’t seem to be as much of an issue.

EDIT: New version has been posted. I love how much faster the process is now that I reduced the sizes of the music tracks.

The way I see it as a player, if the mobs on a grind map are at level 15 I’m to understand it’s the max level I can grind to, since I have to grind supports epiphanies and money it’s extra fun to equalize your army that way.
EDIT. The base at the tavern works, there are minor issues like the background not changing when you play a support (new or old) some epiphanies are not re-playable while others are (that happened before) and I got August-Kree B support but Kree wasn’t deployed in a long time.
I think my party was: Reese August Iodine Rosa Mylo Gora’Luna and Doe.

Huh, interesting, I’ll check that out about the sudden August/Kree support.
I know the issue, and it’s kinda hilarious lol. You’re getting support points because you’re ending the free roam map with both August and Kree on the map XD. I’ll have a fix for it in the next release, but for now enjoy the free support points I guess haha
And yeah, the background issue is a bigger fix from the impromptu base, this is more a bandaid. The next version won’t have that problem.
As for epiphanies, the ones that have the full events written are one time view, and as I finish more they’ll all be that way. This is specifically to avoid them cluttering up the support screen on the unit info menu.

As long as it’s a small problem we can laugh at it’s okay.
I can guess August and Reese will promote by story but what about Kindred? Him being optional makes me guess he will either stay that way or you need a special item later.

Possible big spoiler Is August the soldier that killed Reese? Their B support hints something like that but he didn’t recognize her at the beginning so I’m a bit confused.

Kindred is a good boy who does not promote, but he makes up for it by being able to level up to 30.

And unfortunately I can’t say one way or another about the spoiler, but you did reveal a bug in the engine, since that support shouldn’t be unlocked until chapter 15.

To clarify, 11x is before the battle in the city with the fog where Alessa joins right? I’ve done like 10 skirmishes and it doesn’t appear.I ask just in case I’m wasting my time because I think this is the last time I’ll visit that city so I’m trying to trigger the event now.
EDIT
Finally triggered the event after doing an unholy amount of skirmishes, by the starting convo I guess it has to do with how many imperial soldiers you beat or something.BTW Reese-August A also triggered.

Yeah, support gates are broken at the moment. It’s an engine side thing. Luckily none of the supports include spoilers, some just won’t make a lot of sense yet.

And yeah, 11x has a 20% chance to trigger every time you go to skirmish. I set it that way since Kindred spawns after 5 skirmishes in the Den of Danger. Could always turn it up, but maybe you were just real unlucky haha.
