Archanea Monthly (February 2025 Vol.5)

Thank you so much for featuring Cycle of Remorse in this month’s issue! I dont know if i should be proud or apologize for my project requiring an age rating for the issue lol
But other than that, it was cool to see that interview for DD2! I love reading about behind-the-scenes stuff from other devs, so that was a treat.
Looking forward to next issue as always!

you should be proud, PK, proud that your hack got in and proud that it required a age rating. Congratulations, by the way.

This is always a highlight of my month, thank you ladies! Thanks to Jason’s…”timely” reply to the years-old Dark Deity thread from 2021, I got to read through all of the discourse for the first game from this community. Most of it was not particularly friendly - which makes me wonder how the sequel will stack up. This interview does give me more hope than I had!

Agreed! I avoided DD1 for a time because of the discourse around it, but DD2’s demos and this interview got my complete faith in it. I even went back and started playing DD1 as well!

This was a great little read! It was cool to hear from the devs of DD2 to get an inside-look at what they’re striving to accomplish with the game. I respect Olivia immensely as a writer, so it was neat to see how she channeled some of her own life experiences while writing the game’s script.

CoR and The Infernal Blade look neat too! I feel like people don’t talk about LT projects enough these days, which is a crying shame since there’s so many cool ones on the market.

Reading about how you tackle your stories by using outlines and sticking to a script really reminded me of how I need to do that too; I’m not great at sticking to plans and outlines right now so I hope to learn from more experienced writers so I’m not constantly diverting from the path, so to speak.

Thank youuu!
I always say “this might be my new favorite” but I think I should just accept that I like them all XD

Another great entry of Archanea Monthly ! The reviews of Cycle of Remorse and Infernal Blade were very cool (two project I want to play since a while), and the interview of peoples who work on Dark Deity II was a very interesting read and I’m looking forward to the release !

Important Archanea Monthly Update!

You probably noticed that there hasn’t been an Archanea Monthly for March, and that’s because I was told about a week ago that I was being let go from my IRL retail job. Between that, and my college work, I decided to not post an issue for March. While I’m not in an absolutely dire life position right now, I decided that using the material from March in the April issue so as to be able to lighten the workload on myself and maybe even decide on the extra help that I had been looking for with the magazine. Just know that I’m doing fine!

The April issue is indeed still promised, and will arrive on time! For now though, have this extremely small preview because I think it’s cute lol. Thank you for listening and have a wonderful day!

I think it’s about time I made a formal statement about how there’s been no Archanea Monthly for a few months now.
I’m not going to lie, 2025 so far has been a string of bad luck and family emergencies that have kept me away from projects like this.
Between the writing I get paid for, personal obligations and responsibilities, and the whirlwind that is university, I’m not going to lie that I lost track of how long it’s really been since I’ve made one of these magazines.
And I really miss making these. I miss playing the cool demos and getting to interview awesome people, so that’s what I’m going to do. I can’t guarantee when the next AM issue is, but I’m going to be going back to what it’s all about and focusing on those small, new demos and awesome community member interviews.
Thanks to everyone who’s still supported and believed in us this whole time! And I’m sorry to those who’ve been waiting so long for another issue. I promise though, you won’t have to wait an eternity for this next one.
We truly love you all, and look forward to writing for you again very soon!
