Archanea Monthly (February 2025 Vol.5)

Thank you for the praise and worries, and don’t worry, I definitely won’t work on more than I can handle!

As a little heads up to our readers, the November issue is indeed coming soon. There’s just some significantly long sections that’re taking a while to put together. Optimistically, I’ll say that before the end of November is reasonable, but it might have to wait until December 1st in the worst case.

I have a feeling you’ll all love what we have in store though! You know it’s tough when even Anna is helping edit this issue. Look out in the next couple days!

I’m sorry, this is completely unacceptable. @Parrhesia implied that he was writing a fantasy novel in his intro post for Drums of War, but he said in the Do5 interview that he has not one but several novels published? And we haven’t been given the opportunity to shower them with capital for the privilege of reading them? For shame. For shame. I will accept your apology only if it comes with an Amazon link or something equivalent.

Every creator should normalize writing full length novels to accompany their hacks.

Thanks for your kind words. Tragically the novels I was talking about haven’t been published (and I’m looking to cannibalise the best elements of them and turn them into something I can later publish); currently just a short story out there at the moment, published in Aurealis, though I’m getting paid for some other projects as well. I’m not sure how widespread the publication was, but I doubt it reached several thousand as DoW/Do5 have.

Ah, I’ve fallen into the classic blunder of assuming that because a novel was referred to, that means it was published. Nevertheless, I hope when you do publish you’ll let us know so we can buy it!

and I still am literally green, it seems

Read through the issue after waking up this morning and seeing it in my mailbox next to my coffee. Awesome release, I felt like Spongebob pointing at the TV when I saw LoS listed among the hack reviews. The review itself was also really enjoyable, “not be merely a fanfic” and “fast short fun chapters” were both my goals and I’m really glad to see the recognition <3

Of course, I made sure to read everything. I had already read most of the interviews before because I regularly followed the FEE3 creator interview thread, but both them and the reviews were quite nice.

As per usual, this month’s volume is wonderful and a fantastic read. Lots of really cool stuff. I especially enjoyed the history of fegba hacking with darrman. Glad I could contribute in a tiny way with the FEE3 interviews. :~)

I’m glad y’all are loving it so far :orange_heart:

I know it must mean a lot to you to see your hacks mentioned and highlighted, but it means a lot to us that you care about the magazine to feel honored! It’s really our pleasure!

Hahahaha there I am :stuck_out_tongue:

I was indeed threatened to be stranded off in the middle of nowhere within the multiverse if I didn’t comply… Anna and Lily can be scary beasts if you get on their bad side, so I complied for my own safety, and frankly as well for that of my entire universe… Who knows what these ladies can do…

(Thanks for the credit and thanks for letting me work with you on this, I’d love to help you out on more projects as well!)

Thanks for the interview! I really appreciated the chance to talk about my work!

I hope you keep making these—it’s genuinely so cool to get insight into everyone’s creative process!

We’ve gotten messages and praise from a few people asking what our secret to making the magazine look so close to the FE GBA look this time around. What’s our secret? Well…

We actually did insert and screenshot every single piece of text you see in the magazine this time around! We wanted to fully lean into the aesthetic, but didn’t feel like we could do it authentically doing anything less than that! Of course, we appropriately used LT when it came to Myriad Fortunes though.

We took hundreds of screenshots and then edited them together to make it look as genuine FE GBA as we possibly could!

I cannot even BEGIN to imagine how long THAT took.

I just updated the “Archived Issues” tab to include double-spread versions of September and October’s issues, in case people wanted to go back and view them conveniently!

Oh and if anyone ever wants specific magazine pages for themselves, I’m more than happy to send over the raw PNG’s so you’re not left with a potentially crustier PDF to image conversion.

Finally catched up to the November edition ! It was again an amazing reading !

It was very cool to see a review of an early demo of sins of the wild rose :eyes:

With all the contents around FEE3 there was a lot of interviews and reviews for this edition ! I loved to dig them all and see everyone talking about their projects in their own way

The last article History of FEGBA romhacking really catched my eyes, I knew a bit about some aspects but I still learned a lot about this fascinating subjects !
