AI-Generated FE-Style Conversation Scenes with Voices and Music (with Demo Video)

Hey everyone, I’m on a mission to create a Fire Emblem game that uses AI to create itself as you play. If you’re curious what I’ve done so far, check out my previous post about an AI system that creates original ROM hacks.

Introducing my latest experiment: Scene Creator

Scene Creator

This is a project I built from scratch that uses AI to create FE-style conversation scenes. Using generative AI, in one shot it creates:

  • A story set in its own original universe, complete with unique world-building and lore
  • Characters with custom portraits, voices, personalities, and backstories
  • Scripted scenes between characters that advances the plot
  • An original soundtrack - a song is tailor-made for each scene’s background music

Everything you see here was made by AI with no human intervention

I would love to play a Fire Emblem game where the story is created on the fly based on the choices you make, and I believe this is a step towards that. I’d love to hear any feedback. Does this excite you? In what ways did it miss the mark? Looking forward to reading the comments and incorporating your ideas in my next project.

Have an idea for a story you want this AI to create? Let me know in the FE Infinity Discord and I’ll send you a new video!

All the best,

I’m not sure where AI technology could go into a FElike, other than the enemies to make them like super learners and stuff… However, your idea of

does seem interesting in a few ways, but i feel like the concept as is looks rough and unappealing with the usage of AI art.
However, its impressive that you made this scene creator from scratch, idk im not a programmer. I cant speak on that side, to be frank. Hell, my only experience with programming for a longer period of time than a primary school computer class is on FEbuilder, and that is basically like RPG maker if it was able to be put on a GBA. It is to say that i am a very visual person.

Of course Claude is a LLM.

Including that guy in the bottom right hand corner? AI has come a long way…

Yeah I agree, art created by AI feels a little… uninspiring.

One thing I’m trying to figure out for myself is will the concept that the game and story can truly go anywhere based on your decisions make it still interesting to play, despite lackluster visuals? I definitely don’t want every game to make this tradeoff, but it could be cool to play one.

I think my next mini-project will focus more on in-game decisions and how it affects the storyline.

I agree with this - but it’s hard for me to put my finger on what exactly is wrong with its look and feel. Are you able to put it into words?

lool that thing was made by my parents no AI involved

I’m not sure how to put it into words, it looks uncanny and there is a stylistic mismatch with things? eh im not a great explainer

Yeah, another thing I’ve noticed is the faces look super similar to each other. It seems to use just one style for a female face and another for a male face.

Maybe if you used F2U halfbodies from the repro, it could fix the style issues with the portraits? but they would be pixelated and stuff… as for the backgrounds, i guess you could use stock images

Good idea. There’s a good amount of tweaking that could be done to improve the art style.

Yeah. You could use like limited assets, and only have text stuff be infinite. No matter what you do, the assets are limited.
Like you make the world and people, the AI tells stories within that world.
