I couldn’t find an answer in the rest of the internet, so I thought this would be the best place to ask. Are there any projects working on adapting Three Hopes’ campaign into standard turn-based FE gameplay? I loved Three Hopes’ storyline and felt like it was the campaign Three Houses deserved, but I have no interest in the hack-and-slash gameplay.
(I have no skill in graphics or art so I couldn’t make such a thing myself, but I would be willing to help out if such a project already exists.)
It’s a Dynasty Warriors/Musou sort of thing, right?
That part has been kinda done before by hacks. I think Carcino’s Civil War (a romhack) had one of its chapters be basically a musou-esque one so that might be worth checking out.
EDIT: Idr the exact specifics but you had to seize forts from enemy commanders; the more you seize the better.
I’ll just get the potentially-not-so-nice part out of the way first: If you’d like to see it, you could always make it yourself. The fact that you supposedly have no artistic skill is irrelevant to gameplay. Chances are, if you make something fun to play, it’ll be easier to grab the attention of artists and cooperators in general, especially since you’d already have people who liked Three Hopes or Three Houses pre-interested. Considering there are (WIP?) demakes and romhacks of both a prequel and sequel, you can say for certain those people exist and are here.
About a year ago I saw someone mention they were going to start setting up to make a Three Hopes demake, though it was very preliminary. Not my place to speak for them, but they’d be the one I’d think to ask if there’s anything to report.
If you want to keep the spirit of Three Hopes’ gameplay, you’d have most maps be longer and with multiple objectives. Sengoku Oda’s chapter 4 is essentially a multi-seize chapter, with enemies being able to re-claim them, alternating weather mechanics and other gimmicks. It may be a biased suggestion, but it’s the closest to a Warriors-like chapter flow I’ve seen, if you’d like to check it out for reference.
