How do you guys actually feel about it when you see it appear in a mod? Do you love it? Is it overdone? Is it too predictable? Not serious enough? Flawless and should be in e erything?
A friend of mine REALLY wants me to put it in my project, and I’m on the fence. On one hand, I want my mod to be appreciated in a slightly more serious way, but on the other hand I know I can’t compete with other serious mods. My hack COULD use at least one funny “in your face” kind of thing and this would be something I can see myself addi g. But as a community of people who have played WAY more hacks than me, how do YOU feel about Buff Moulder?
Buff Molder is alright, but when it comes to silly battle animations I prefer the one of Hector slamming his axe into the ground and punching the enemy
Its definitely worn off the funny after seeing it for so long. But I say if you’re going to add it at least make the game more lighthearted. It feels like a strong whiplash to experience an MC crying in their dying parent arms and then pans to a scene where Moulder rips off his clothes to heal you
To be fair, it’s an FE8 Reskin, so “serious” within the context of putting in a genuine effort to make improvements to the original experience and keep things in line to that end. Not so much serious as in creating raw originality. I’m good at experimenting with the potential of a product, not so much forging one. But I try to take that potential seriously and make something I believe could have been received well or at least changed views on how things could have evolved if it had replaced the original as an official release (barring file size of course).
But there’s still room for the silly, but sometimes it’s hard to tell how much is too much or what kind is appropriate lol
