A future FE6 sequel Protagonist concept

I was messing with this idea of making a “FE6X” fangame that will be FE6’s sequel, similar that FE7 has its fanmade “FE7X”, it’s prequel. but I wonder which character would be preferred more as a protagonist between these options:

  1. Roy’s child: Depending of which ending the player took when finishing FE6, they could be:

1.1. Just another marquess: This happens when Roy marries any of these girls (Cecilia, Larum, Shanna, Sophia, Sue) (It’s also valid assuming a random villager woman as Roy’s wife). Their newborn becomes the heir of the House Pherae and therefore a future marquess/marchioness, just like Elbert and Eleanora or Eliwood and his wife did. Like in FE4 or FE Fates, the story is the same regardless of the chosen wife. If previously at the end of the Disturbance of Bern, there is no Ostian heir alive to succedd Hector, Roy and his heir would take the rule of the entire Lycia as the new Marquess, since when Hector died, Eliwood assumed as a provisionary Marquess (Or the new permanent Marquess if there are no other Hector’s heirs alive).
1.2. A common recruit/mercenary leader: Similar to the first option, except that if there still is any Hector’s heir alive at the end of the Disturbance of Bern, they unify Lycia into a kingdom that will replace the Marquess ruling system, and therefore, Roy and his chosen wife would have to cede Pherae to the new kingdom, ceasing to be marquess and marchioness. As Roy’s child has to live as a common Villager, they would have an option to be trained in battle: either as a recruit into any of the armies from these nations of Elibe (Lycia, Etruria, Ilia or Bern) or becoming a leader of their own group of mercenaries. (Just like Ike and his fellow Greil Mercenaries that won’t be a noble Lord anymore).
1.3. The First Prince/Princess of the Lycia Kingdom: This only happens when Roy marries his own childhood friend, Lilina, who, as the only Hector’s heir to the House Ostia, she unifies the entire Lycia into a single kingdom and becomes the first Queen of Lycia. (Again, the Kingdom replaces the Marquess ruling system). Roy cedes Pherae to the new Lycian Kingdom, but his marriage with his own childhood friend makes him the consort King of Lycia. Their newborn child becomes the first Prince/Princess of Lycia (Similar to Prince Marth from Altea, Prince Xander from Nohr or Princess Lachesis from Nordion) and therefore, they would have their most select honor, battle training and education.

  1. Any other character: This can apply assuming that Roy (because of his denseness towards women) didn’t marry anyone and rules alone, having no child that would succedd him. (It’s also valid to assume that even if Roy had a child, they wouldn’t take part of the fanmade protagonist’s story) The protagonist could be anyone: a commoner (who can class change like the FE Echoes Villager), a soldier, a mercenary leader or maybe a Heir to any other of these Kingdoms (Etruria, Bern or Ilia) (I know because Juno and Zelot had a daughter that currently its status is unknown, it’s also unknown if Elffin (Now the King Myrddin) or Princess Guinivere (Now the Queen) had any children, but the fan game can take their possible child as possible protagonists)

Which option is the one you like the most for a FE6 fanmade sequel? (And can you suggest better names for the new protagonist?)

  • Roy’s child - Just another marquess
  • Roy’s child - Common recruit
  • Roy’s child - Mercenary leader
  • Roy’s child - First Prince or Princess from Lycia Kingdom
  • Any character that does not belong to Roy’s family

I think it’s a little weird that the no-deaths run seems to imply the lowest resulting social standing…

if you must crowd source a protagonist I feel your work won’t feel as good to write, so if you truly wish to make this, choose a concept yourself one you care about.

As for the poll in isolation, I find direct sequels to already complete stories boring and uncreative, you’ll be constrained by cannon and the tone/themes of the original [this opinion only concerns sequels not what ifs or rewrites].

Writing something more removed would be more interesting and give you greater freedom with the story, also just focusing on Roy’s family again so soon after FE6 is boring.

however if you wish to focus on Roy’s family again idk man like do an Awakening and set it long after FE6, major conflict so soon after fe6 feels bad as we “just fixed the problem man”.

focusing on non-Roy family with small scale or more personal conflict also lets you set it closer to around fe6 time without feeling like a hasty addendum.

This only reason why Roy even possibly unifies Lycia at is if the marries Lilina, because the biggest ruling houses unite into one, so I don’t know if any possible Ostian heir would ever want to unify Lycia or why. This could even be the plot for its own story or part of the plot for this sequel itself

Kind of developing the story from the wrong direction here. The plot you want to tell defines what protagonist you make, not the other way around. Right now, you just gave us several options without informing us what story you’re planning to write other than it being a FE6 sequel.

Is the story once again focusing on Lycia as the centerpiece of the story, whether it being once again under attack from another direction or faction (whatever could it be) or just it being highly involved in some conflict? Then a child of Roy or another Lycian noble would make sense as the protagonist. Is it intended to explore loose threads in other states, like, I don’t know, whatever happened to the Western Isles after Echidna liberated them or what’s going on in Etruria or Ilia or whatever? If so, a child of Roy would feel tacked on and not really fitting the plot. A mercenary or a noble of a whole other faction which is closer to the plot would work better.

I don’t know if this idea would be anything you would even consider, so feel free to disregard my intrusion entirely if you want to, but my own idea for a potential FE6 sequel was always to be an Awakening-style sequel of Elibe, except being more directly connected to its prior games than Awakening itself was. It would follow the bad end of FE6(Because there really is no innate sequel potential in either the neutral end or the true end, which I guess would be fine if you are ready to just make stuff up on your own).

As part of that, my personal preference for “FE6 sequel protagonist” was always someone centuries if not millenia later and thus distantly related to Roy at best, if not completely unrelated. I don’t see Roy’s kid or even grandchild making any real sense as a protagonist choice because it is “too soon” for another relevant feeling gameplot to believably happen from a narrative perspective, especially if we count FE7 already happening to Roy’s father in a tangentially related way just a generation earlier.

what if roy x sophia, what would happen then

Uhhh mage son/daughter with some dragon blood?

I’m working on a similar project of a sequel, so I have my own preferences, but if you’re having trouble with the protag, I always like to imagine the personality before the background.
