A FE8 PME like many others (or maybe not)

As a furry lover specially kitsune Velvet has the most amazing sprite color contrast its really a waste on a chapter boss it would be very nice as a playable ngl

It’s great that she has help in the newer patches with the skill scrolls and such, but I can’t count the amount of times she crit kills herself in a recent run. with a 100 in luck she will reach 31 luck at humm something like level 10 +? even if the stat growth is assured I’ve had her kill herself at like 3% backfire rate. I think her promos should give her a lot of luck, like +5 or something

Am i blessed by rng god or something i never got back fired even once

I’ll buff most of her stats (since the boss charges and has a massive Res stat despite being a General) and give her some lighter tomes. By how much you think I should buff her experience gain?

Do you have any specific ideas on how much should I buff these two?

First of, I’d like to remind you that Emerald also promotes into Dark Sorcerer, so I’m not changing the class skill, and being able to use staves is already a distinction from normal Sorcerers.

Also:

Do you consider this an improvement? I think letting her maintaing her A rank in staves and higher base magic so that she at least can perform as a staffbot is probably a better option.

Meanwhile, during my testing:

Exia got crit, survived, and critted back.

Taking into account by how much she ends overshooting the luck cap once leveled, I’m not sure if that’s an appropriate solution. But if critical backfires are an issue, maybe I could make the Lucky Sword unable to crit?

Looking at both of them I’d say that changing her to a shaman is a net postive.

The only thing that suffers is her magic stat while all the others get decreased by like 2 or 3. When she’s a shaman she could get some more levels and not have slow experience gains. She could actually get her skills which is reallt sad when said out loud.

At this point in the game, you should have a good healer already, or you just have the Ephraim replacement on standby for all units so I don’t think getting rid of her staves rank would be bad for her since she’s aupposed to be combat oriented once she gains her skills.

For Exia I think buffing his speed by +7 should be good because he won’t be gaining any because of his low speed growth and he won’t be doubled against most of the enemies in late game that often

A +2 stat increase in both skill and Res would slightly help him hit things in late game and have him survive against magic attacks some of the time.

+5 in magic would make it so that it gets used more often since once his purge tome is gone I personal don’t find myself using his magic rank.

If you wanted to go further then you could give him a staff rank since his magic animation looks to be using one, but that’s up to you.

For Eliza, I think increasing both her Skill and Speed by +4 would make her more offensively viable since her strength is already so good.

+1 defense for her would be nice. It’s not a lot, but it would help a tiny bit.

I think buffing her experience gain like you did with Laresta would be good. I’ve been playing the recent patch and I’ve seen that Laresta levels at the same pace as my unpromoted units so that should be a good adjustment.

In light of all the suggestions, Im updating Exia for the last time. Everything changed is in bold. I really appreciate all the time you’ve spent with our beloved characters, honestly.

NAME: Exia
GENDER: Male
AFFINITY: Anima
BASE CLASS: Guildmaster - Strong leaders who support allies through great defenses.
PROMOTIONS (OPTIONAL): None
SUBSTITUTES: Seth
GROWTH RATES (max 350%):
HP- 80
STR- 30
MAG- 30
SKILL- 30
SPE- 10
DEF- 80
RES- 80
LUCK- 10
STATS SWAPPED: Luck with Defense, Lower move to 5 if possible
PERSONAL SKILL: Last Stand
LEVEL UP SKILLS (OPTIONAL): Aegis, Pavise, Rally Spectrum <-(In order)
PORTRAIT/PALLETE/BATTLE ANIMATIONS (OPTIONAL): Uses Swords (L. Sword for Prf), Lances, Staves
DESCRIPTION: A guild leader from a distant land. Face rarely seen.
DEATH QUOTE (OPTIONAL): I leave the rest to you. Good luck.
OTHER (OPTIONAL): Personal weapon: Fortresse (Sword) (Unbreakable, 11 mt, 80 hit, 5 crit, Skill: Bracing Stance)
INVENTORY: Fortresse, Silver Lance, and Mend. Weap Levels: A in swords, B in lances, B in Staves

Last Stand - Passive

When the user reaches 30% HP, they lose 70% of their defense and resistance stats For every 2 points lost, gain +1 in strength, skill, and speed. Don’t worry about heal locking anymore.

In general, the focus for early/midgame is a damage sponge, and now with his high res he shouldn’t die instantly to endgame magic. His reduced offensive stats keeps him from steamrolling bosses, and keeps last stand from being too insane till later on. Fortresse also has stats similar to a silver sword to slightly compensate. Overall, he should play as a more defensive supporter role until his skill procs, and from there just go out in a blaze of glory. Be nice to em, yeah?

Also, someone, if you don’t mind sending over the skill code for last stand? I might need to for something else. No trouble if you can’t or don’t want to.

@Someone I’ve wanted to ask if you wanted class descriptions for som of the custom classes like King, Sunchaser, Trailblazer, Dark Sorcerer, and Lamia

I remind you that I can buff her experience gain without changing her class.

Also, I think losing 5 AS and 9/8 physical/magical bulk is a bigger loss than what you seem to think.

Then he would double earlygame enemies, which would make him a bad Jeigan. And sure, as it is now, being slow is bad for any unit, but I’d rather find ways to make slow units useful through new weapons/skills than buff everyone’s speed.

Taking into account that enemies tend to have lower Res, that Exia gets Tomefaire, and that Ivaldi grants +5 Def, I find myself doing the opposite, since I end using his magic more than his other ranks. The one I almost never use is his Lance rank.

I honestly think that giving Exia staff rank would worsen Kassandra’s standing more than it would benefit him.

I think I’ll buff her Str too, since I like the idea of a Falcoknight with higher Str than Spd for a change.

Okay, so x5 experience while “unpromoted”.

The extra HP is appreciated, though I have an idea: how about a skill that allows him to temporarily swap his Def and Res?

Any level in particular for the level up skills? And what about the class skill?

You’re nerfing Fortresse’s Mt?

RIP Brave Lance. And I’m going to miss the Light magic.

Sure, once I’m done with the last number change.

Yeah, I could use them.

Oh yea btw @Someone can i submit a buff for delilah?
Poison touch, Makes ALL weapons apply the poison effect and gives +3 dmg +10 hit when enemy is poisoned (will this be possible?) I believe her use case right now is pretty niche so I thought something more significant would help

You got some good points, but I like the idea of shaman Xiomara since she gets that promotion and some extra levels. Buffing her experience is nice, but a shaman is still good for me

For Exia, yeah it’s pretty understandable with buffing every unit speed since it does seem redundant. Instead of speed, you could give Exia’s personal weapon the Nosfatu effect so he can have a easy way to heal when he’s alone.

Ima be honest, I never knew that Exia gets tomefaire :skull:

You’re completely right about Exia making Kassandra obsolete with staves. Kassadra is like a rally bot who gets replaced by the troubadour.

She just stays on the team because she’s also a staff bot, so I see the reasoning there. Kassadra is just kinda… there…

Here are some class Descriptions!

Lamia: Half-human snakes that possess an uncanny affinity for magic.
Equip: Dark, Staves.

King: Individuals who have surpassed thier own limitations. Adept at many forms of weaponry
Equip: Swords, Lances, Axes.

Dark Sorcerer: Sorcerer’s who have disregarded one’s self to achieve greater heights.
Equip: Dark, Staves.

Sunchaser: Near ageless beings who have a dying curiosity to explore everthing below the sun.

Trailblazer: Creatures that forge any paths for themselves, be it through trickery, violence, or annihilation.

Guildmaster: Experienced individuals who find most challenges to be nothing but a slight hindrance
Equip: Swords, Lances, Light.

Warlord: Monstrous and tenacious leaders who carve thier way to victory both figuratively, and literally.
Equip: Axes.

@Someone would it be okay if I changed Zalda a bit so she stands out and that she’s not just another myrmidon who’s not good, if that would be okay with you.

@Ultimiter, here’s Last Stand code and skill icon.

Is that a new level up skill or a replacement to her old personal? If it is the former, at which level should she learn said skill?

I’ve also though of a new skill for her: what do you think of a skill that allows her to drain HP (Nosferatu/Sol-style) when fighting a poisoned enemy?

@Ultimiter, what do you think?

If you want to change her, go ahead, but I’d like to point out that she actually performs really well with the right build (and by right build I mean Swordmaster + Alondite + Sword Saint Scroll + all the Secret Books you can give her).

A replacement yea, and your idea can certainly be a cool level up one, maybe at level 10?

The issue with replacing Poison Master is that both of her starting weapons (Poison Sword and Jormungand) kind of lose their meaning. Any ideas?

Ohright, on skill revamps, I did think of a possible Shiraha skill~
Rabbit’s Foot - LCK% chance to life steal. When HP > 50% will survive a fatal attack and LCK -5, when HP < 50% +13 LCK. (Maybe has the current devil effect built in, or a separate skill somewhere, dunno!)

Right. humm well lets make jormungand have savage blow instead. And give her a personal dagger, (name ideas are welcomed) with steel sword might, 10 wt and 2 range
