The Hag in White [COMPLETE]

Might wanna ask not to receive bug reports that do not end the run from people who haven’t completed the game at this point, unless you somehow will continue finding this funny for years lol

Maybe at some point I’ll throw it in “known issues” or something, but for the time being I get a kick out of it every single time it happens, so.

More Spoilers Huzzah

Honestly Pedro seemed like the easiest to avoid, the Telemus recruit gimmick makes it pretty easy to just never aggro him and escape, and the only thing you lose from sparing him is the hoplon guard. Others like Alba and Antiope pretty much have to be aggro’d, and Goliath has four chests he’s guarding.

Also mildly disappointed Dahl and Conan seem to have nothing extra if you manage to spare them lol. I’ll kill the margraves in a heartbeat, but those two don’t deserve that. Personally choose to believe the one you don’t recruit just gets absorbed into the winner’s forces offscreen unless Word of God says otherwise

Scymerius

This is not a bug and they return in chapter 14 with a base convo acknowledging their disappearance.

This is also why you pick lord fruct our god and savior

Just Realized...

I got this rare occurrence on my playthrough, since I spared both Pedro, and got his boss dialogue with Lorenzo. Shame I had forgotten him, thought he was just a generic boss placed there so the map had one if you recruit Lorenzo. I never noticed watching playthroughs he wasn’t there lol. That’s a really cool detail though.

v1.9 released!

  • Added casual mode.
  • Added fixed growths mode.
  • Added the ability to toggle casual mode, fixed growths and difficulty at base camp.
  • Added alternative camp dialogue in chapter 18 if the secret recruitment is performed.
  • Tweaked functionality of an event in final 1 to be more in-line with regular game mechanics.

I know I literally just said 4 days ago I hoped to slow down, but these had been requested, and if there’s something I enjoy it’s giving people what they want. So there you go! If you’re mid-run and want to toggle something, don’t worry, you should be able to do it even if you started the run before the update.

I noticed a small bug(?), in Ch15 base camp Scymerius and Kyra had a repeat dialogue from the initial chapter Scymerius was recruited. The same convo occurred

Rubenio already disclosed that there will be no guide. It is up to the player to figure out

Dammit, I knew I’d forget something, I knew it. That’s from when I cleaned up base camp so it could properly be used in postgame as a convo viewer. I had to move some flags around to make all convos viewable, and I forgot to change the event that handles the mercenaries in chapter 15.

Honestly, it’s such a minor thing that I think I’ll just reupload the patch with the fix and leave it at that. Thanks for the report!

have you actually tried playing the game instead of begging for a recruitment guide on every thread you’re in

Which event was the one that was fixed?

With hints in the dialogue and visual indicators for who could talk to who, I would think it would be spelled out straight enough

honestly my gripe is more how 99% of that user’s posting history is literally just begging for a recruitment guide in various threads that he’s in, without actually otherwise contributing to thread discussion

most of the time it’s like annoying but in this case when the hack creator himself has literally stated that he doesn’t intend on publishing a guide it’s more disrespectful than annoying

just play the game man

Was pheme just a side character in the hag of white after chapter 9 ?

Nah, I have the same gripe as you here too. I’ve seen this guy before begging, and I found it slightly annoying at most. This, this just feels rude

So I'm on chapter 17 and...

I’m really enjoying this game so far and can’t wait to see how the plot progresses. But I’m not a fan of losing Soter like this. He was the only “armor” type unit I trained (I generally don’t like to deploy redundant unit types), and now that he’s gone, I don’t have a tank anymore. My next highest defense unit is a promoted Agari with 13 Def. I do enjoy the plot twist and darker atmosphere of this game, but I feel that the player should have been heavily discouraged from training Soter similar to how Pheme was weak and had poor availability.

Also, on a related note - how did Kyra figure out from what Lorenzo said in the inn that Soter was the traitor? She seemed to catch something based on the note in Pheme’s hand, but I didn’t quite get it.

Okay, but hear me out

It hits a lot harder if you’re using him.

In all seriousness, you get a prepromote general right before he leaves… a general that’s fairly easy to miss and in fact most people do miss because nobody visits lore houses. To be honest, I’ll admit maybe it was a bit irresponsible to do that with the intended Soter replacement. That being said, over the next couple of chapters you’re going to get a decent amount of tanky prepromotes. Not “23 def 19 res in chapter 16” tanky, but that’s kind of overkill anyway, isn’t it?

As for your other question, it references a clue that I hid as early as chapter 3. When Sandraudiga shows up for the first time and arrests Apate and Elias, you can see every playable character on the map during the cutscene - and with the exception of Raleigh, they all have a line or two of dialogue there.
Soter, however, is inconspicuously missing from the scene. It’s very subtle, though. I haven’t seen anyone notice it on the first go yet.

ch18 bug?

Why is the Swordslayer axe effective on Edward who has an axe equipped? I was surprised when that guy one-shotted Edward
