The Hag in White [COMPLETE]

Ok. He still ended well as a Hoplite for me because having control of the triangle is so good. But I forgot what was his con as a bounty hunter. But yeah the caps of Hoplite are a bit mediocre.

I prefer it only with Fango because he has hit issues, the prepromote warrior is amazing and I think that Hestia is better as a Warrior. Bounter Hunter is surely better than Hoplite, which is only worth to use with soldiers and Fructuoso because crit +15 is probably the worst class skill and berserker is the only one of the 3 with good caps and Begoña is mix maxed for berserker caps unlike Fructuoso.

Spoiler

This thing is really powerful, also i wasn’t expecting Kyra x Hestia at all, I was thinking about her and Hecate or Agari, though primarily i assumed she wouldn’t have a lover by the end of the history

I didn’t exactly plan to give her a love interest from the onset. But she interacts a lot with Hestia in camp and I thought they were cute together, so I gradually steered that way.

Character Review Big Spoilers!

Ok, i finished the game yesterday and i’m going to rank the units, though only the ones that saw some of use through my playthrough those who got benched immediately after joining may no be here.

My ranking is base on Hard Mode, bc that’s the difficulty i played the game on, maybe some units would be better on normal mode, idk.

First the ones on my end game team

Statbooster: 1 mother’s icon

The hag herself, as you can imagine being the only staff user until chapter 16 makes her really invaluable, i don’t have much else to say about her, she’s just a damn good healer, i can imagine playing the gaming without using her would be a total torture. she can also do combat, i guess? but she only did it like 5 rounds of combat for me in my playthrough, her turns are way more valuable using staffs than attacking.

Rank: S, and she’ll be the only S tier unit bc none other unit is worthy enough to sit on the same tier as Apate is.

Statboosters: Curious herb and draco shield

Lv 20/20

Kyra is surprisingly good for a bow lord, she hit hard and wasn’t having a hard time doubling either, plus her Maeltrom can, most of the time eliminate enemies which she can’t normally double like mercenaries. After promoting she became an absolute powerhouse, she wasn’t anymore just a delete button, she was The delete button, an unlike half of my team, she could actually take more than 1 hit before dying, also Cupid was a very good tool in the end game, a high physical mt and 1-3 bow?, just too op.

Rank: A, perfect availability, good combat from start to end, and decent bulk later on, plus she’s a mix attacker, capable of capping both magic and str.

Boosters: Spirit dust

Lv 16/19

Honestly Delilah was just meddling, mainly bc her magic was low, she wasn’t to 1 round ok most of the enemies, but she also wasn’t able to resist more than a hit, I only had her on my team for the leadership star, she sometimes was able to kill some enemies with the rapier or the S rank tome, but it wasn’t consistent at all.

Rank: B, I’m ranking her B tier bc even though mine performed a really mediocre work, if she doesn’t get screwed like that, she can be a good team member, specially bc of her leadership star.

Boosters: 2 skil books and 2 mother’s icon

Lv 16/18

Begoñññññññña!, she’s just another of those character that i added to my team just bc of the leadership starts, though in the early game she was doing a really good job, when she got promoted, around chapter 11, she just wasn’t that good anymore, she sometimes lacked speed, sometimes atk or she just had super bad hit, my Begoña was speed and atk screwed for most of the game, she really only picked up on her last 10 levels, i mean, she was a lvl 16/10 Begoña and her atk only was 22 and her speed 21 xd, though she ended being a solid member of my team after all, can’t complaint.

Rank: B, good availability, starts off strong and has a leadership star, overall a very solid unit, though i wish her bulk were a little bit better.

Barlowe even though he can’t fight himself, was a force to be reckoned with, a really good rally man, Inspiration was useful sometimes but nothing too crazy and the two leadership stars are just neat.

Rank: A, a really good support unit and he doesn’t require any investment whatsoever. thanks to his Rally Movement he works a little like dancer tbh

Telemus just shows off, with good stats, on one of the best classes in the game and with a leadership star, strong from start to end, even though he misses about half of the game showing up on chapter 16. but nonetheless he was a good unit, just throw this guy into the enemies range, leave them attack him on enemy phase, he will lure them off and soften them up for your others units to easily kill the enemies without receiving damage, heal him with Apate or Tiresias, if the enemies are though, rally him with Barlowe, rinse and repeat, congratulations, you just won the game.

Rank: A tier, a no brainer unit

Boosters: speedwings

Pericles suffered from something similar to Delilah, he is supposed to be waaay more speedy, but mine got speed screwed, as a result he doesn’t double what he should be doubling, so he wasn’t able to kill that many enemies, at this point i only had him on the team for his leadership start and some chip damage.

Rank: B, Solid all around pre-promote who requires low investment and has a leadership star.

Another unit i added to the team only bc of her leadership start, but she actually turned out pretty well, she ended up as one of my favorites units, she was my S rank bow user and did an excellent work, zero complaints about her, good from start and has the potential to become even better.

Rank: B+, I wanted to rank her A tier, but seeing the titans in A tier i don’t think she quite made to it, but still, she’s the best B tier unit so far, maybe she fits in something like a B+ tier, idk.

Edward is probably the unit that got the most OHKO in my playtrough with Wolfbeil, Swordslayer, or simply with his battle axe against mages, and he also put the brave axe in some good work, he also was bulky enough to take more than 1 hit, so he saw some enemy phase combat, just a another good pre-promoted with low investment and a leadership star.

Rank: B+, good offensive, decent defenses and a good class, no quite an A tier unit, but good enough to be above B tier.

DA-MOTH-ERRR!, Once again, only here bc of her leadership star, she contributed so little to the team in the short time she was in, but still did something here and there, a decent filler unit with not investment.

Rank: C tier, she’s just mid tbh, but leadership star goes brrrr!

Oh my, Fiadh is so gooooood!, the Sniper class a really powerful in this game, combine that with an early pre-promoted with good bases and growths, a support with another great unit (Barlowe) and high rank bow lvl, you’ll get Fiadh she quickly became my favorite unit in the game. the only thing i think she lacks is a leadership start, like come on, how it is that Begoña got one and Fiadh no? doesn’t make sense to me.

Rank: A tier, just so good and can do things that other unit cannot even, if they have better stats than she, things like killing stuff without being countered, killing archers in enemy phase, or killing enemies that are really far with an Arbalest which gives her 3-5 range, the others archers can also accomplish it , but they’ll require far more investment than her and have lower attack. Pheme is better than her, but you just can’t have Pheme in your first play, and even if you have Pheme, two Sniper with good stats is better than 1.

Boosters: Speedwings, Angelic robe, Draco shield and growth booster (+5% all growths)

Lv 18/18

She’s soooo speed screwed she really can only take kills with the brave lance, kill in two rounds the paladins and great knights with Reginleif. heck, she even has a speedwing on her, so her real speed is only 15. but even with that she managed to be a really reliable and serviceable unit, she often kill what she had to kill even of it took her longer, doesn’t matter that much bc he was bulky. overall, best flier in the game, I wish she would have better speed on my next run.

Rank; A tier, this is a Flier emblem game, of course the main flier ought to be good.

Boosters: 2 power rings

Lv 16/20

I will be honest, i wasn’t a Lopez believer to begin, he was benched until chapter 12-13 i think, i started using him bc of the memes and bc my pockets were a little light (i didn’t recruit Polonius back in chapter 10), This guy is so good a keeping my economy high, and he also is no even that bad at combat with those +6 attack from the assassin’s promo gains, i’ll definitely use him from the start if i ever do another run.

Rank: A tier, More money == more powerful weapons and the freely use of those == your entire team get stronger == the game become easier.

Boosters: growth booster (+5% all growths)

Lv 20/20

Second healer with an Est archetype, really a no brainer, he wasn’t doing that much combat though, most of his combat was when i was training him, but after that he became mainly a healer, he did combat here and there but nothing special.

Rank: B+, a good unit to have? yes, an necessary unit? no, still, he’s great.

Boosters: spirit dust

lv 18/20

All that i said about Telemus applies to Alonso, except Alonso came earlier and doesn’t have the leadership start Telemus has. greta unit overall, as a matter of fact, Alonso was able to one round the enemies at final 3 “be happy” in hard mode, with the S rank dark tome, he also was able to hold a good 1vs1 against Saundradiga in final 3 (when she has the also and not the staff yet), he could probably have defeated her only needing Apate to heal him once.

Rank: A tier, Generals are good, Alonso as the fast and with high hp general that he’s, obviously he’s no an exception.

I just really use this guy bc of the history, but he was Demeter 2.0, without the leadership start and joning later, he only did like 11 rounds of combat take like 9 kills, mainly bc he joins so late.

Rank: C tier, i’m pretty sure he’s a powerhouse in the postgame thanks to Resolve, but in the main campaigning, he only has 4 chapters to do anything, and i don’t think the final map can even be considered a map.

And that was final team for the game, now i will review the ones i use but eventually got benched (mainly bc of the plethora of pre-promotes that shows up in the late game with leadership stars).

lv 16/8

A decent flier. She would’ve been better if she were a magic-oriented flier instead of a physical one, but it’s okay.

Rank: B tier, solid yet nothing crazy

A great unit, yet i had to bench her bc Edward had the advantage of having a leadership star

Rank: B tier, great, but she has nothing special aside from good stats. maybe she belongs to B+ idk.

She was a temporary magic chip, yet she did a great job and even was able to 1 round some enemies, i don’t wanted to bench her, but Delilah forced me with her leadership star.

Rank: B tier, good usable mage throughout the game, maybe i’ll try her as a general on my second run.

I really wanted to use her but she turn out so bad that i benched her and picked Wulfric instead.

Rank: B tier, solid as long as yours doesn’t get screwed like mine.

Same History with Agari, Wulfric turned out so slow that i benched him for Laertes.

Rank: B, same as Agari, if he get good speed, he’s good to go.

Good stats, but benched him bc of LEADERSHIP STARS UNITS!, and that’s is the story of how i ended up with Pericles as my only paladin unit.

Rank: B tier, if you pay him, he can even become B+!

He contributed a lot in the early game, but ultimately got benched bc Soter and Alonso were on fire, while he was meh.

Rank: A tier, he’s as good as Alonso, Telemus and even as good as Soter was, it mainly depends on how they turn out if you decide to use him or the others. kinda disappointed he doesn’t promotes to Black Knight.

Phobos is your standard early game mercenary, balanced all around.

Rank: B, he can be made into a good bounty hunter, but nothing special about him.

A good early game magic chip, though i don’t think she has that much potential for late game as the other initial members of the team.

Rank: B, even though she doesn’t have as much potential as the others, i’ll give her B tier bc of her early game contributions.

And that’s all, it a really fun game, Rubenio, the story and the gameplay were great, thank you and congratulations for had made such a masterpiece.

Arena Issue?

I can understand there was an attempt to make the arena less exploitable, but I think it might have gone a little too far, it’s got enemies that double a 30 speed Assassin or attack from 2 range making them unbeatable because a 1 range character isn’t allowed to counter

The Toxiphilites are even both

I’d add some short videos, but the site won’t let me

In chapter 12 that one little girl is she having the same sprite as the purple haired mage girl in dark stone?

There are some reused mugs, a recoloured Agrippina is in one of the houses on chapter 23

Okay I’m slow, but who’s Euphraxia’s kid? Is is Sandraudiga?

Also just finished too tired to give full thoughts right now since I was driven to complete the final boss way beyond by bedtime lmao.

Is this game Ironman friendly? I lost the dark knight in chapter 3 and I’m hoping I didn’t screw myself by continuing after he died.

Massive spoilers

Yes, Sandraudiga is Euphraxia’s kid.

Euphraxia was also the previous Grand Inquisitor; if you recruit her a certain way she’ll even have her old armor with her, and having her fight Sandraudiga as an armored class yields unique dialogue.

If you’re wondering if you’re screwing yourself over by leaving a few characters dead, no, many classes in particular appear to have at least one “Replacement” later on, not all of them good, but they’re there.

(IF your main concern is missing out on “Unique” options, my best advice is not being careless with your flyers, there are very few)

In fact, I almost always will encourage playing through a few deaths, because permadeath was supposed to make the story of your playthrough more unique, that was the goal of Permadeath as a mechanic when the series first became a thing.

Are you in postgame or in the main game? I did try to make the arena harder, but with all the changes to classes and stuff it doesn’t work super well (and I wasn’t super concerned with the arena anyway because it barely exists in this hack), but Toxophilites are only supposed to appear in postgame as a jape.

No, actually. Like Shiina says I did reuse a couple old mugs for villagers, primarily in chapter 23, but that one you’re talking about is just a FE6 villager. The same one I spliced Tiffani from, of course, so she’s bound to look somewhat familiar.

Sure it is! There’s lots of units to replace the fallen. You may even find special dialogue, in some instances where characters lose someone they care about.
