I’m new to feu and when I saw the title I was intrigued
Saw the trailer and I was mindblown
Just saw the latest reply and 0-0
Make All-Charizard a feature pls /half joking
I’m playing through route 1 rn just caught mankey, is it supposed to be able to use “call” and teleport everyone to it?
I think I saw that feature in the trailer. I think it was meant that way.
This is very very very impressive
From the 6 hour stream last night we made it to Cerulean. First time lunatic run, lol. There will be another one tonight at 6 pm est.
Sorry it’s at the same time as another FEE3 video; the timing is up to Imported Cheese. Be sure to check out the usual 6 pm FEE3 video before or after the stream. ![]()
I’ve taken it upon myself to attempt to Nuzlocke this…my current record is Viridian Forest screen 2 before i die…
Hello, Vesly! Amazing hack so far! Unfortunately, I am here to report a softlock.
The start of the route below Pallet Town can be accessed by cutting the trees, even if you don’t have Surf. Entering the route worked fine. However, upon returning to Pallet Town by cutting the tree again, I spawned on the water, with only one of my six Pokemon, unable to move anywhere because I don’t have Surf.
Wowzers! Fire Emblem AND Pokemon are probably my two favorite game franchises and i am definitely looking forward to playing this. Feels like a fever dream this even exists.
How’s possible I already read a message from you saying your two favorite things are Genshin Impact and Fire Emblem and now you are talking about pokemon mmmm suspicious (-_-
(Just kidding)
Hi there! Still very much enjoying the hack, but I’ve found another area transition softlock…
Some of the staircases going down in the Pokemon Mansion seem to send me to the wrong spot. The lower-left one going down from the third floor to the second puts me in the room above the wall (weird, but playable), while the corresponding one going down from the second to the first gets me stuck inside the wall, with only my first Pokemon spawned in, thoroughly softlocked. I will admit to using VBA-m to play it instead of mGBA, so there is a possibility it’s my emulator’s fault.
There have also been a few times when enemy trainers have occasionally glitched out (not recognizing when you’ve beaten them, spawning their Pokemon all the way across the map, suddenly becoming controllable units, etc.) but those are much more minor, have all been fixed by just reloading the area, and don’t have any consistent pattern to occurring that I can see.
Regardless of the slight glitchiness, it’s still an amazing game, and has thoroughly cemented itself in my #2 Pokemon game of all time slot (sorry, but Explorers of Sky is tough competition lol). Let’s just hope I can find a way to get through the Pokemon Mansion without using that staircase!
- Residual dmg caused this and can no longer KO.
- If you block a trainer from being able to move he summons pkmn anywhere. Not fixed yet.
- Catching more than 40 pkmn messes up things. You can no longer catch more than 40.
Will fix Cinnabar Mansion tomorrow, thanks! It should be possible to progress as I know people have beaten the game already (and I guess I never used those stairs in my playthrough). I also fixed the pallet town water thing, an aoe underflow bug, and a number of other little things.
Yeah, I figured out how to progress, just had to figure out that the statues controlled the doors lol (been a while since I played the kanto games), and from there the drop down from the top could get me back to the entrance.
Oh, and one other thing in the mansion besides the stairs (a few of the other downwards stairs had the same problem of placing you a few tiles up, but only that one was an actual softlock since the walls above the others weren’t as thick): the door to the bottom-left room on floor 2, the one with the TM in it, didn’t seem to open at all, no matter what I did with the statues.
Oh, and one last note: the Recover AoE sometimes kills the BGM when used during the “free-movement” state, lasting until Enemy Phase next triggers or an attack is made.
…Well, it appears my save file has suddenly corrupted. I’d just beaten the 8th gym and immediately saved at the Viridian City Pokemon Center, but now the save loads as blank. I don’t know if that’s the fault of anything in your game or if it’s just my emulator glitching out. I can send you the save if it’s useful for investigating, otherwise I’ll just chalk it up to an emulator malfunction and start a new run in a bit.
Yes, please send the .sav file. Not sure if it will tell me anything, but I would like to solve this issue asap and any clues would be helpful. A save wipe is the worst sort of bug ![]()
If you have any clues about how this happened, please let me know. I likely will need to be able to recreate the issue with a savestate before the wipe in which I can reliably cause the bug to occur in order to fix it.
In the mean time, I’ll encourage others to savestate occasionally. Sorry this happened!
Edit: Pushed a fix ![]()
No Snorlax? That’s a shame.
Random thing, but I’m getting some sort of calculation bug for some moves, or maybe it’s just a game mechanic I’m not understanding. For some reason, Mankey’s scratch and leer, Butterfree’s signal beam, Sandshrew’s magnitude, and a few other moves sometimes hit for half of the displayed damage randomly.
Also, wanted to point out that the Jesse/James thing in the first cave has weird sight lines, it can lead to you aggroing them out of the likely intended order.
Also some of the skills, especially the ones you have to pay for, feel a bit bad to use. Tantivy is an okay skill, but due to the map design and call feature, you will rarely get much use out of it, and it feels too bad to be worth 5k, especially for such a small boost when it is active. Chivalry is a similarly frustrating skill. It’s a conditional +1/-1, and while it’s not hard to trigger, it feels so tiny compared to other modifiers like shields and guard. Obviously, dropping something like galeforce down into the early game unregulated would be chaos, but i think a few mid-tier skills like charisma, outrider, charge, vanity, strong riposte, etc. would really help make the lunatic earlygame a bit more dynamic.
Played up to the second gym already, love the hack. I can only imagine how painful some of this stuff must’ve been to make
Misses deal half dmg.
Snorlax will be catchable after all badges are collected in the future.
Skill scrolls are low impact and should not generally be purchased (the ones for sale are all ones you’ve already found). But you can buy them if you really want to. This is because I don’t like consumable items that you can never purchase more of. It doesn’t make lunatic significantly harder to just ignore skill scrolls altogether; this is how I played it. You can think of them as simply a small bonus.
Gotcha, if they are supposed to just be low impact neat bonuses, that makes sense. Just used to most hacks with skill systems going more in on them.
Also, thanks for the missing thing. Thought I was going insane lol. Pretty cool design choice btw
Edit: Also, after playing through the game for a while longer and watching some Imported Cheese streams, I realize that I’m an idiot and most of the skills I mentioned actually are in the earlygame, I just completely missed them lol
