[LT] [VER 1.1 UPDATE] Fire Emblem Legends: Dawn of Medeon [FINAL DEMO VER 1.1]

GOOD MORROW PEOPLE OF THE UNIVERSE, IT IS TOTALLY NOT 5 AM EST DON’T EVEN LOOK AT YOUR CLOCKS, SHUT UP!

Joking aside I actually come bearing good news and good tidings. First things first: Holy. Shit.

50 Downloads on my 1.2 Demo… I am honestly humbled. Thank you so much for playing it, for giving it a chance, just… thank you. So so so much.

Now then

Work on Demo 2.0 is coming along VERY smoothly, I’m actually rather surprised with how well it’s going. That’s actually why I’m here making this post. I’ve spent the last few months having my script edited by my best friend, the storyteller, and I’ve spent this last week implementing all of those edits into the first 3 chapters. Now!

ARE YOU LOOKING TO PLAYTEST THE FIRST 3 CHAPTERS OF DAWN OF MEDEON AGAIN WITH CHANGES??? Lemme break down what that entails.

  • Historical Mode. If it wasn’t in the recent demos, it is now. (I can’t remember if it was or not, sue me it’s 5 AM)
  • The Zodiac System has been implemented. Affinity is gone, instead the new mechanic is in place and it is FUN.
  • Each Chapter has been edited with grammar fixes, more story to help smooth any rough edges and more. My friend and I are bound to have missed some things, such is life. We can always get them on the next pass.
  • Chapter 3 rehauled. I know it was a slog for a lot of people for multiple reasons. They saw my vision, I just executed it poorly. It happens. That being said, I’m hoping the new, rehauled version of Chapter 3 is more to the people’s liking.
  • Proper portraits for (most of) the main characters now, courtesy of TheBlindArcher (My friend, you have my thanks, as always).

Now then (for real)

If you wish to playtest this version of the Demo, which I am calling 1.5 basically, I don’t mind at all. In fact, it will be dropped here for your downloading pleasure.

HOWEVER! I do have some requests, if you’d humor me.

  1. All of the story content has been added for these chapters. That means the Shadowed Portraits under the Lucavi Forces? Yeah, those guys? You might see one of them. That is kind of a spoiler, so PLEASE refrain from spoiling anyone. (It’s weird, I’ve never had to ask this before. I’m not trying to step on toes, I just want people to enjoy it fresh you know)?
  2. If you do playtest it, can I just get like… a couple things from you guys message wise? It doesn’t even have to be critiques or anything (although those are still very much welcome, I want this to be as good as it can be). You can even tell me something you liked, I just would like something, please.

Anyway, that’s my spiel done. I’ll get off the soapbox now. Be easy, and I’ll make sure you have Demo 2.0 (The Final Demo may I remind you) in your hands ASAP.

Please enjoy Demo 1.5

NEW 1.6 DEMO THAT HAS MINOR CHANGES, NEW WEAPON RANK ICONS, FIXED MUSIC IN SOME SCENES, FIXED GRAMMAR AND MORE CLEAR CHAPTER 3 INSTRUCTIONS.

(Bug fixes am I right guys?)

PLAYTESTING DEMO IS DONE, THANK YOU TO THOSE WHO DOWNLOADED

Edit: Oh yeah, message wise you can shoot me one here or on Discord.

You can find me in the Universe Server or the LT Server if you hang out there. Name and PFP are the same there as it is here. (That is, if you see a Silvio and the PFP is of a Grey Warden, you’ve got the right guy).

(Also playing this Demo nabs yourself a 1.5 Playtester credit on the credits.txt, just tell me if you play it pls, I am not omniscient)

Before chapter 1 the two talking aren’t done yet right?
Chapter 1 : npc girl portait looks different in style and i have to say i spot some new portraits for the playable units. Like Zhao quite much. Are some battle sprites new or i am imagining things?

one thing i noticed in the sound room are there really only that amount of tracks? or is that just the demos and there are more tracks in full game? besides that i really like the style of music you went for this game.

chapter 2: the kids are cute but they use adult map sprites.

chapter 3: Mithras is pretty cool even if his battle sprites dont match the pallete of his portrait.
guess alma too.
speaking of the red bow guy isnt as fitting and zhan the spear guy could have the gree made closer to portrait.
The ‘dark mages’ i wonder from where are their animations they sure look different.

the chapters are overal fun to play and I wonder what is the level caps and are there promotions? I ask cause Toshiro easily got to 20 and he still can get exp

Overal I have to say I sure look forward what comes next and I think Toshiro is quite cool but i might have some bias xD

A lot of these things are because it’s still in demo mode. I’m more worried about if the chapters have been fixed and are better playable wise.

I also mention details about the game in the features tab but in case you missed it: there are no promotions and the level cap is 35. The level cap may be subject to change though because again, it’s a playtest demo.

Final Demo, what I’m calling 2.0, will be respective of what the first half of the game will be. Animation wise, music wise, story wise, you get the idea.

Happy FEE3 day everyone! I hope everyone has enjoyed the event so far (or, if I’m one of the earlier ones, looking forward to everything that will be announced). I had this post planned ahead of time so I could drop it as soon as my trailer went live. Convenient, right?

I hope everyone enjoyed the second trailer for Dawn of Medeon, I definitely think it’s an improvement over the first one. Though that’s probably thanks to having more content to show! With that said, I’d like to talk about a couple of things going forward with Dawn of Medeon that way we’re all on the same page together.

First and foremost: this is the FINAL Demo. That’s right, enjoy the first half of Dawn of Medeon for what it is, but that’s all you’ll be getting until the full release. This doesn’t mean that the demo won’t be updated however. If there are gamebreaking bugs, I’ll make sure to have those fixed pronto, but I’ve had a couple extra months to playtest/have others playtest so if there IS a gamebreaking bug, then I’m a bad game developer and I apologize. That being said, if there’s an issue, I’ll fix it. It’s not gonna be a one and done, just deal with the issues type of thing. I want everyone to enjoy it at the best quality it can be. Please do make sure I KNOW about any issues though because I can’t fix anything if no one tells me, y’know?

Second: At the time of writing this (28th of August, or Dawn’s Roar as it would be in Medeon), I have completed the scripts for chapters 6 and 7. They just need to be edited and proof read multiple times to make sure they’re as good as can be. Chapter 8 is being hacked away at and I’ve got the concepts of Chapter 9 and the Final Chapter. Look forward to these chapters all at once, because that’s when the final release will drop. It’ll be a while yet, but I hope you stick with me til the end.

Third: If you’ve watched the second trailer all the way through, you might’ve seen a surprise at the end. That’s right, the 2nd game in the Medeon Saga, Project LAST_STAND is now in very early development as “Fire Emblem Legends: Demon of the Nightwinds”. Finally the story of Kazutora and Masataka Yokaze will be told! Look forward to the epic adventure of these brothers in the future!

And finally: This will be my last time showing anything trailer-wise at FEE3 for a bit. My hope is to have Dawn of Medeon done by the time the next one rolls around, but things can and do change. I also don’t want to show off ANYTHING for Demon of the Nightwinds until I have something substantial for people to play. Demon of the Nightwinds is a planned full length campaign like that of the GBA games, so I will need to take my time on it (and hopefully with others by my side). If there’s the opportunity for creator interviews, I plan on taking advantage of that. Even gameplay showcases would be fine, like showing off a future chapter or something for Dawn of Medeon, but as for trailer trailers? Not this time. You’ll have to be patient (and it might be my fault for the early announcement, but in my defense I was super excited to share).

With all that said, I hope you all have a fantastic rest of your FEE3 (or I hope you had a good one if I’m at the very end).

The time has come for the Dragons of the Night Winds to rise up! Will you join them on their journey to take back their future?

In War, Victory,

Silvio Nightwind

P.S. You can expect a 1.1 update sometime soon after the initial drop. Nothing super major, just getting some portraits redone and finishing the Combat UI (or at least the main parts of it).

(EDITORS NOTE 1: Sept 4th, 2025) Didn’t get to do as much playtesting as I WOULD’VE liked, but any glaring issues should be at least resolved. Lord knows what new ones have popped up instead, but that’s life as a game developer I suppose.

(EDITORS NOTE 2: Sept 30th, 2025) While I haven’t worked on Dawn of Medeon a lot coding wise, I’ve made great strides on outlining/drafting the final chapters. Almost everything is ready to be added to the script and heavily edited to make it as good as can be. It’s quite exciting actually. Unfortunately, Final Fantasy Tactics just dropped as of writing this, so I’ll be lucky to get the demo out… oh no…

(EDITORS NOTE 3: Oct 17th, 2025) Final Fantasy Tactics, Legends Z-A and STILL no FEE3 date at the time of writing this? It’s a good thing I have most of the changes/updates done now after kicking my ass into gear. Man, I better hope FEE3 gets announced soon before Hyrule Warriors drops, because if it doesn’t and my new Zelda game comes out before it? Y’all might NEVER get the demo. At least until I finish Age of Imprisonment… nah, I wouldn’t be that mean…

Or would I…?

(EDITORS NOTE 4: Oct 20th, 2025) Schedule was announced and I’m on the 13th of November. 6 days after Age of Imprisonment. AND AT MIDNIGHT TOO, RIGHT WHEN I GET OFF OF WORK OH BOY. I’ll make sure the demo is finished, don’t worry.

As for the announcement of Demon of the Nightwinds: while I obviously will make sure Dawn of Medeon is completely finished before I even THINK of releasing anything for Demon of the Nightwinds, I do plan on getting started with some gameplay features as soon as I can. Thankfully, most of that can be attributed to excitement due to a new project. As it stands, I am COMPLETELY burned out on Dawn of Medeon once this demo comes out. Like I’ve worked so damn hard on this demo that I feel like I’m going insane, and that’s not even taking into account all the shit on my phone notes! I’m quite literally rough drafting the finale as we speak! My hope is that by working on Demon of the Nightwinds (at least the rough drafting, the features and stuff like that), I can still use creative energies towards something and then once I become burned out on that, I can swap back to Dawn of Medeon with new vigor. Man…

It’s not easy being a game dev is it? I think I understand how Sakurai feels, not that I’m anywhere near as great a game dev as he.

(EDITORS NOTE 5: Nov 1st, 2025. Day 1 of FEE3) The time has come, the E3 has begun. Now I wait for my turn while I witness everyone else’s hard work. It’s fun, being able to create something. This will be my last editors note, as now it’s really just a matter of waiting for midnight of the 13th. You know, when I get off work. (I’ll quite literally be dropping this post while I’m in my car before I leave to go home).

I can take pride in my work and what I’ve made. Just as I can give thanks to everyone who’s helped me along the way, no matter how small their contribution. Though I’ve had some rough moments IRL these past few weeks, I take solace in the fact that I’ve had an outlet to push these feelings of mine onto and make something of it. I’ve already got major features working in Demon of the Nightwinds from just a testing standpoint, now it’s just a matter of getting them all in and going from there. I look forward to working on Book 2 of the Medeon Saga, and hopefully with others by my side.

Just… maybe wait until I 100% Age of Imprisonment first, ok? Zelda comes first, it always has.

Hello all, Ver 1.01 is out with a bugfix someone notified me on for Chapter 4.

I’ve also received a lot of feedback regarding a LOT of things, so I also plan on implementing those as well for later versions + Full game when it’s eventually ready. Thank you to everyone who’s played so far, and I appreciate you giving it a chance despite its shorter length.

Hey all, just wanted to give a quick update on some things since it’s been a couple months.

First and foremost, thanks again for everyone who’s played so far. It means a lot to me, especially since this is my first time doing something like this. I’m making steady progress on the later chapters and as of several days ago I actually finished the last of the dialogue (including endcards). So this means that, for the most part, Dawn of Medeon is 100% completely done writing wise! All it needs now is editing, which I’ll have to consider looking for outside help with that since my best friend who IS my editor is understandably very busy himself just like I am (Perks of being an adult, but I digress).

Second, because the actual dialogue is now done I can actually focus on working on the gameplay aspects again. Even if the dialogue isn’t edited right away, it can still be used and eventually replaced when the edits happen. All in all, really looking forward to working on this again. Especially since I’m bringing my laptop with me to work again to work on this during my break. I think it really says a lot that I’m sacrificing my food break to work on this but hey, I usually spent my break working on this through my notes app on my phone, so what’s the difference really?

Regardless, the train that is Dawn of Medeon is picking up steam once again and I’m looking forward to dedicating more and more of my time to making sure it’s as good as it can be before its inevitable full release and my shift of focus from it to the next game. Thanks for listening all, hope you have a good evening/morning in whatever timezone you’re in!

Special Bonus since @PKLucky was kind enough to indulge my humorous idea: Mithras plays stupid games and wins stupid prizes, Toshirō is tired of holding the singular braincell in the group and we’re all wondering how they ended up saving the day in the end…

Happy Ides of March folks!

Hey everyone! Dev Silvio here, freestyling an update for you guys.

First and foremost I just want to get this out of the way: I just finished coding the last bits and pieces of Dawn of Medeon (In theory, I’ll elaborate more in a second). This means for all intents and purposes, Dawn of Medeon is completely playable from start to finish. However it’s still in an Alpha stage. “What does that mean?” You might ask, allow me to elaborate further…

  • Like I said: Game is playable from start to finish, but there may still be bugs and/or crashes. I’m doing a solo playtest first to make sure anything game breaking is fixed ASAP.
  • Once that’s done, I’m going to build it and send it to a few people for playtesting to get their feedback on anything that can be improved or needs to be changed.
  • Once I have that feedback, I’ll make the necessary changes.

Sounds pretty simple right? That’s the easy part. The hard part is this…

  • I’ve been unemployed for a month now, which means I’m in limbo for the assets I need, like music and skill icons, until I finally get my first paycheck at this NEW job which starts tomorrow. (Hurray I’m not going to be broke anymore)*
  • The music is still going to take a while because there’s a whole OST that’s being created. Relatively small for Dawn of Medeon because it’s a small game, but that’s still 20+ pieces of music being created.
  • The Combat Animation for the Final Boss is being worked on, and that WILL take time still. I will not rush my artist on that, just as I won’t rush my artist for the music. I value the people I commission, and I will wait however long I need to, to get the assets I need.
  • Still need 3 voices for the last 3 female characters that haven’t been casted. Hoping to find them soon, and once I’ve got money I’m even willing to pay for the voice lines but I digress.

THE POINT IS: Dawn of Medeon is completed in a playable sense, but is nearing completion in a final sense. I look forward to dropping the full release sometime soon. I’m not going to give a guaranteed time frame for a drop, but I promise you as soon as I figure one out, I’ll let you guys know. I don’t want to just shadow drop it, I would like people to be excited for it, etc. etc. etc.

So yeah! I wanted to make sure everyone was up to date on everything going on. Hope this will be enough to excite people, and I want to give a special thanks to everyone again for playing the various demos I’ve released throughout my time here. From the initial playtesting ones from my first FEE3 to the Final Demo released not that long ago from the most recent FEE3, it means a lot to me that you’ve given some of your time to play something I’ve created. It’s not perfect, but it is human and in a world dealing with an influx of AI stuff nowadays it’s nice to still see creators persevere. And, as a creator myself now, I have an even greater appreciation for it.

Until next time
