Happy FEE3 day everyone! I hope everyone has enjoyed the event so far (or, if I’m one of the earlier ones, looking forward to everything that will be announced). I had this post planned ahead of time so I could drop it as soon as my trailer went live. Convenient, right?
I hope everyone enjoyed the second trailer for Dawn of Medeon, I definitely think it’s an improvement over the first one. Though that’s probably thanks to having more content to show! With that said, I’d like to talk about a couple of things going forward with Dawn of Medeon that way we’re all on the same page together.
First and foremost: this is the FINAL Demo. That’s right, enjoy the first half of Dawn of Medeon for what it is, but that’s all you’ll be getting until the full release. This doesn’t mean that the demo won’t be updated however. If there are gamebreaking bugs, I’ll make sure to have those fixed pronto, but I’ve had a couple extra months to playtest/have others playtest so if there IS a gamebreaking bug, then I’m a bad game developer and I apologize. That being said, if there’s an issue, I’ll fix it. It’s not gonna be a one and done, just deal with the issues type of thing. I want everyone to enjoy it at the best quality it can be. Please do make sure I KNOW about any issues though because I can’t fix anything if no one tells me, y’know?
Second: At the time of writing this (28th of August, or Dawn’s Roar as it would be in Medeon), I have completed the scripts for chapters 6 and 7. They just need to be edited and proof read multiple times to make sure they’re as good as can be. Chapter 8 is being hacked away at and I’ve got the concepts of Chapter 9 and the Final Chapter. Look forward to these chapters all at once, because that’s when the final release will drop. It’ll be a while yet, but I hope you stick with me til the end.
Third: If you’ve watched the second trailer all the way through, you might’ve seen a surprise at the end. That’s right, the 2nd game in the Medeon Saga, Project LAST_STAND is now in very early development as “Fire Emblem Legends: Demon of the Nightwinds”. Finally the story of Kazutora and Masataka Yokaze will be told! Look forward to the epic adventure of these brothers in the future!
And finally: This will be my last time showing anything trailer-wise at FEE3 for a bit. My hope is to have Dawn of Medeon done by the time the next one rolls around, but things can and do change. I also don’t want to show off ANYTHING for Demon of the Nightwinds until I have something substantial for people to play. Demon of the Nightwinds is a planned full length campaign like that of the GBA games, so I will need to take my time on it (and hopefully with others by my side). If there’s the opportunity for creator interviews, I plan on taking advantage of that. Even gameplay showcases would be fine, like showing off a future chapter or something for Dawn of Medeon, but as for trailer trailers? Not this time. You’ll have to be patient (and it might be my fault for the early announcement, but in my defense I was super excited to share).
With all that said, I hope you all have a fantastic rest of your FEE3 (or I hope you had a good one if I’m at the very end).
The time has come for the Dragons of the Night Winds to rise up! Will you join them on their journey to take back their future?
In War, Victory,
Silvio Nightwind
P.S. You can expect a 1.1 update sometime soon after the initial drop. Nothing super major, just getting some portraits redone and finishing the Combat UI (or at least the main parts of it).
(EDITORS NOTE 1: Sept 4th, 2025) Didn’t get to do as much playtesting as I WOULD’VE liked, but any glaring issues should be at least resolved. Lord knows what new ones have popped up instead, but that’s life as a game developer I suppose.
(EDITORS NOTE 2: Sept 30th, 2025) While I haven’t worked on Dawn of Medeon a lot coding wise, I’ve made great strides on outlining/drafting the final chapters. Almost everything is ready to be added to the script and heavily edited to make it as good as can be. It’s quite exciting actually. Unfortunately, Final Fantasy Tactics just dropped as of writing this, so I’ll be lucky to get the demo out… oh no…
(EDITORS NOTE 3: Oct 17th, 2025) Final Fantasy Tactics, Legends Z-A and STILL no FEE3 date at the time of writing this? It’s a good thing I have most of the changes/updates done now after kicking my ass into gear. Man, I better hope FEE3 gets announced soon before Hyrule Warriors drops, because if it doesn’t and my new Zelda game comes out before it? Y’all might NEVER get the demo. At least until I finish Age of Imprisonment… nah, I wouldn’t be that mean…
Or would I…?
(EDITORS NOTE 4: Oct 20th, 2025) Schedule was announced and I’m on the 13th of November. 6 days after Age of Imprisonment. AND AT MIDNIGHT TOO, RIGHT WHEN I GET OFF OF WORK OH BOY. I’ll make sure the demo is finished, don’t worry.
As for the announcement of Demon of the Nightwinds: while I obviously will make sure Dawn of Medeon is completely finished before I even THINK of releasing anything for Demon of the Nightwinds, I do plan on getting started with some gameplay features as soon as I can. Thankfully, most of that can be attributed to excitement due to a new project. As it stands, I am COMPLETELY burned out on Dawn of Medeon once this demo comes out. Like I’ve worked so damn hard on this demo that I feel like I’m going insane, and that’s not even taking into account all the shit on my phone notes! I’m quite literally rough drafting the finale as we speak! My hope is that by working on Demon of the Nightwinds (at least the rough drafting, the features and stuff like that), I can still use creative energies towards something and then once I become burned out on that, I can swap back to Dawn of Medeon with new vigor. Man…
It’s not easy being a game dev is it? I think I understand how Sakurai feels, not that I’m anywhere near as great a game dev as he.
(EDITORS NOTE 5: Nov 1st, 2025. Day 1 of FEE3) The time has come, the E3 has begun. Now I wait for my turn while I witness everyone else’s hard work. It’s fun, being able to create something. This will be my last editors note, as now it’s really just a matter of waiting for midnight of the 13th. You know, when I get off work. (I’ll quite literally be dropping this post while I’m in my car before I leave to go home).
I can take pride in my work and what I’ve made. Just as I can give thanks to everyone who’s helped me along the way, no matter how small their contribution. Though I’ve had some rough moments IRL these past few weeks, I take solace in the fact that I’ve had an outlet to push these feelings of mine onto and make something of it. I’ve already got major features working in Demon of the Nightwinds from just a testing standpoint, now it’s just a matter of getting them all in and going from there. I look forward to working on Book 2 of the Medeon Saga, and hopefully with others by my side.
Just… maybe wait until I 100% Age of Imprisonment first, ok? Zelda comes first, it always has.
