Help pls my game crashed
I tried to upload the content to this post but it has over 700 thousands characters. Is the an alternative method?
Amazing game. So incredibly well done.
Just had my first run win yesterday with Autumn’s auras carrying. (Two of her because of the clone). I have only seen 80 ish characters so far (and ~40 unlocked). Excited to see what other characters can do
I’m sorry, what the fuck is this obscured, hidden, unexplained, no tooltip, no guide, no warning, no dialogue, no anticipation, no clarity, out of the blue mary sue that the sage in the Elite Sage battle can suddenly start pouring down Rock Boulder AoEs twice every turn just because??? I killed my run, not dealing with that Rouge pitch bull-shaite.
Seriously, at least let him add onto his tacky cheesy one liner “I’ma firing my thunderbolts!”, all I remember is “I’m totally gonna win this lmao” instead.
Well, I got knowledge-checked by a rougelite-like, whoop de kekking doo.
If i remember correctly the ground where these are launched gets marked with different colours.
Yeah, I only figured that out, 3 turns in, wondering who in the fog was nuking me from 1500 km across the globe. That was, is, and will be the only indicator present, and it was way too similar to staff range, or ally utility movement abilities, which is exactly what I thought it was at first glance while planning my moves.

@Lord_Tweed And I had to edit my first reply due to non-consecutive posts. That’s tough to get used to.
Game breaking crash upon using assimilate. The log is absurdly long, so I tried to Ctrl+F “Assimilate”, since that’s what I used which led to the crash, but the amount of lines between the 2 results was so long the markdown editor lagged.
And FEuniverse is telling me it can only accept image or audio related filetypes, so I don’t know if I converted the notepad into a word or PDF document would work. The only other person to ask and get a response back wasn’t very helpful nor conclusive, no detailed instructions.
Not at all familiar with this site, so I have no idea which option leads to the “details” tag, nor if the “^Error Log” is a default, standard format or was intentionally typed.
At least I confirmed replication. Just restarted from the save file, started the fight, and had Tacita Assimilate Tinola, with a Life Insurance, Shining Bow, & Fire tome in her inventory. Aqcuired Skill Sure Shot, the prompts for Life Insurance & losing it appear, then Tacita attacks the empty tile where Tinola had already been banished & vanished from, then bam! The crash screen and a new log was generated.
I just finished a run, and I encountered the Ice version of the Sage Elite fight, and that was much better implemented. Much more enjoyable too.
P.S. cuz apparently can’t “spam” reply:
I realized I am still on version 1.9, so my plan is to download the google drive doc for 2.0. I am going to extract in the same location as my current EotF_EXE folder location, which will mean I will be asked to overwrite files, and I’ll say yes.
I have no idea if this will delete my current Suspended/Saved Run Info, but I’ll do it anyway. If that was the wrong way to update EotF, then someone will let me know in hindsight.
P.S.S:
Well I didn’t have to overwrite. But as expected, the 2.0 Folder contains an entirely separate save file data. Is there any possible way to transfer my 1.9 save data to the 2.0 folder? Just Copy+Paste or Drop, what I assume to be labled “saves” into the other?
I’ll try to search in this thread for any relevant keywords.
Welp, I found it pretty quick. guess that’s done & dusted
Ah, that’s why I had trouble finding it, it was named just “EotF-0.p”, didn’t notice it at all while scrolling. At least the “.p” is a dead giveaway|Nope nevermind it actually already existed, just had to scroll down
P.S^4
Well, starting up v2.0 did not show the “Suspend/Load Game” options. Maybe I need to also bring over the “EotF-0.p” & the “EotF-0.pmeta” file as well? my 1.9 saves folder looks like this:
Reaaaaaaly long. While the 2.0 folder is just 3 files: the Config.ini, the pasted over “persistent_records”, and the save_storage.txt file. Maybe I also need to C+V the storage.txt file too? I ain’t gonna mess around until someone has some knowledge.
3/30/26:
Alright, turns out, the persistent record only refers to my hub data, and not the current run, or “Local” save data. Welp, that’s good to know from now on I guess
Hi Lord Tweed, I am playing the 2.0 exe version, it seems not available to talk to wardrobe at base, is this function moved to other things? I think…the wardrobe should be the thing which is near the desk?
I actually finished the act 2.
Is there any way of changing the controls? I play using the Switch pro controller and not being able to use dpad for navigation is a bit inconvenient, as well as buttons just being slightly different
The way i was able to change the buttons was adding it into steam then changing the controls through there.
Just finished the game and hit final credit roll, absolutely LOVED it! This took over the last few days of my life and I made an account just to heap praise upon this game despite only having a measly 21/355 on my save. The amount of content is unreal! The wacky combinations, silly ideas, and immense depth of this puts way up at the top when it comes to fangames I’ve played. I have some qualms about the upgrades at home base to make future runs easier, but that’s more of a personal preference for a purely “arcade” experience over gradual progression than an issue with the game itself. I do really think a level of camp/event exp should be owned right at the start, though, they feel like a huge priority to buy ASAP.
Absolutely phenomenal work, and kudos to you and your team. Is there a place I can see a list of the Passwords anywhere, by chance? I’d love to see what little bonuses are in there before I start hunting down some of the postgame challenges.
The lady at the bar in the mansion hub has the password hint system. You can pay her tether charge and she will tell you about how to unlock certain characters (or in certain cases, tell you the password outright, like with the “Strange Machine”).
Additionally, some of the trailers have a password shown in them. I think there’s 2 but I’m not 100% sure on that.
So I’m reviewing this a bit early in my Embrace of the Fog journey, primarily because I want to get the bug report out. As of writing I have played and completed Act 3 on 2 runs, gotten all 6 keys, but was stopped at the “Who?” question.
Sidenote: Is finishing Act 3 on my first two ever runs rare? I feel quite accomplished
If anyone would like details, I wouldn’t mind giving a rundown of my units and how I pulled it off (given that’s asked within the next day or two while I still remember).
IIRC I’ve played 2 other “rougelike” hacks from FEU up till now, but this one is truly something special. LordTweed, you’ve really struck gold here and I’m so happy to have had the privilege of stumbling upon this game.
The character variety & power level is F*ING INCREDIBLE and I’ve only seen maybe 5% of them. I enjoy getting powerful units I can build my entire strategy around (and even get a second copy of!), I enjoy getting mediocre units that I can purposely build in a way to make useful, and I even don’t mind getting some trash because at least you can still use them on a map or two to tank enemies and save everyone else some crucial HP, AND I still get excited over what their promotions/master seal upgrades are - the worse the base unit, the more potential there is for some upgrade to pull the whole thing together into something amazing.
Earning Master Seals off of beating bosses with different units and then using them for unique upgrades is absolutely brilliant design. I was worried at first because this game might devolve into “find your 4 best characters and then play every run with them until you beat the game” but this absolutely implements the correct set of incentives for bringing different teams. And with the ability to upgrade to more unit slots at base later in the game, I can see how you can still bring along your heavy hitters to handle difficult maps even if you’ve already earned all their seals while still having your core team be rookies.
Same as above, but for Bonus Units and increased currency for base upgrades.
Map variety is incredible, I especially enjoy the defense maps, and figuring a way to 1/turn or otherwise warpskip/flyskip Boss kills and Seize maps (with no “I didn’t milk EXP by routing” penalty, no less) is beautiful and keeps the game going at a healthy pace despite there being 45 Floors to get through.
…but the Elites available seem to always be the same 2/Act (at least up until the point I’ve played). This is actually a good thing, because the 6 Stratagems available from these Elites are absolutely crucial to being able to finish out a run. I would hate for the game to devolve into “oh, I didn’t get the Gemini Elite, so I guess this run is gimped” because of how powerful Gemini Genshin Impact is to boss killing. I want to especially shout out the Unit Clone & Forge for being incredibly fun, versatile, and powerful - and the Elemental Statuses for being a stroke of genius as far as unique mechanics (compared to other games/hacks) go (plus there’s “attacking a statused unit” synergy).
Alright, I could go on for another 10 paragraphs just from my short time with the game, but I’ll stop here for now. This hack is crazy, it sucks, I hate it, and I absolutely will not be spending another 100-500 hours with it. Absolutely not.
10/10
The Survivor/Blacksmith Elite Map (encountered in Act 3, unsure if it’s available earlier) is WAYYYY harder than anything fought previously including many Elite combats & both prior bosses, gave me crazy whiplash from the difficulty spike. Barely made it through and only because I had the “survive at 1 HP twice per map” stratagem. Is it just a knowledge check to know whether or not you can handle the fight? Not a problem, if anything this gave me a really cool and memorable experience.
After the Blacksmith Elite, prior to the “Select a weapon to forge” screen, I wish it would explain what the forge does. Same with the “Choose a unit to clone” screen after the Ninja elite. It’s pretty obvious after doing it once, but on a first playthrough I didn’t initially understand what the consequences of my choices were.
Really wish Item Uses would be displayed in the 5x Item Rewards screen at the end of maps, so it’s more clear what you’re getting. Something like “Consumable 3” or “Uses 3” in the tooltip would suffice, similar to “Restock 3” on many items. Would also like if I could view my units during this choice to ascertain if certain choices would be good - for instance, if something like the Wyvern Shield gives +RES/4 damage, I’d really like to know how much res my L.T. currently has.
Thrown Weapons / Utility weapons should specify their range in the tooltip. Some do, but not all. When first starting out, it is not clear that all bombs are Range 3 and I have no idea what items like the Constricting Net’s range is.
Grani’s Shield tooltip has no “next page” while in the shop (or convoy), so I have no idea what Stampede does until I gamble on buying the thing.
Counter Drink tooltip doesn’t have a “next page” in Chapter Rewards, perhaps elsewhere too.
The “Room #” popup at the start of each choice lasts barely one second, maybe even less, and is very easy to miss. Why not just keep that popped up like unit/terrain details during normal FE gameplay? As a beginner, it took me until Floor 41 on my first run before realizing it’s shown in the Run Info screen.
On the Flagbearer Elite Map, there is a Forest tile adjacent to one of the Gravestones in the middle which looks like a Plains tile. Also the 2 vertical fences immediately south of it seem to not block movement, so perhaps these should just be plains tiles for the sake of visual clarity.
On the “Trial: Last Hope” map, I had Reese (& August) deployed. On one turn, August was able to move, exit a building, move, switch to Reese, Reese enters a different building, then moves & attacks. However, on the following turn, Reese Exited a building, switched to August, and he was NOT able to enter a new building. I think this happened because the “1/Turn” effect on enter/exit was not cleared from August while he was off of the map during upkeep. I wonder if the same thing happens to them with Cooldown items.
When I got Reese & August (at Level 28, right before the Act 3 Trial and Boss), August started with less than full health. I didn’t see his health prior to healing 25% immediately, but he started the Trial map at 27/36 HP. I suspect this is because he is an “extra” unit tacked on to Reese, so he started with his Base Level 1 HP and didn’t get healed after auto-leveling.
It seems like August’s details is not viewable in the Gallery next to Reese.
The Life Salve is bugged and cannot be used sometimes, it seems. When I select it from Items the only option available is “Storage”, there is no Use even when the unit is damaged. I tried this on August during “Trial: Last Hope” and it didn’t work, but then on the following Dragonslayer Boss map, Esteban was able to use it normally. Could it have something to do with the above bug about August joining at less than full HP?
Aphi’s first skill tooltip is too long to fit, so I cannot read the beginning of it.
It is unclear what reduces Hope for Humanity charges at first glance, and if it’s secondary effects (Status Immunity and Counter range) are removed when at 0 charges. I assume it only loses charges when being killed, but the way it is worded it could be confused to mean that gaining Tier 2 Statuses or Countering at any range also removes charges.
When finishing a run with all 6 Keys and having to answer “Who sent you here?”, I wish Sydney would show up so you could talk to her and try to figure it out on the spot, instead of having to start an entirely new run. The story is presented pretty piecemeal and I followed maybe 30% of it by the time I had completed my second run and gotten this prompt, but I had an extremely powerful team so it really hurt to have to abandon it and start anew. I chose not to look up the answer through LT Editor.
Rose Strike specifies that it is a free action in it’s tooltip, while Rose Drain does not, despite Rose Drain also acting as a Free Action.
Draconic Hexblade description states “within 2” but the effect actually applies within 3 spaces
EDIT: One more: After a unit is banished, they remain in the unit list for Map Rewards and their weapon types are still in the RNG pool for rewards. (So, in my instance, I sacrificed Maru at the Altar at the top of Act 1 Room Select, and Knives still show up in Item Rewards despite me having no other Knife units on my team)
EDIT2: This one is a tiny change but would be a massive plus for me: In the Gallery, when checking the Seals earned by a unit, the third row has Savior on the Left, and Trinity on the right. But in Trial Select, Trinity is always on the left and Savior on the Right. This would make it easier to see at a glance whether you want to plan for a “Left Run” or a “Right Run” to unlock the maximum number of seals. The first two rows of bosses are correctly displayed according to their position during selection. (Feel free to disregard this if the “Left/Right” thing doesn’t apply after I figure out how to unlock the last 3 “???” Bosses)
Tier listing is virtually impossible because you have to consider units upgraded & not upgraded, plus getting certain synergies with Items/Strategems completely changes the viability of units, but I thought I’d do so with the few characters I’ve encountered so far anyway.
Feel free to ask my opinion on any of these if you care
Hello,
I’d like to report a bug on act 4A. It seems that when Samael has the trial that lowers your generic units to one, it heals your other units to full for some reason. I don’t know if it’s linked to the fact that I had auras that increased my max hp or not, which seem to have some problems as well, but there’s that.
Thank you for your attention
Hey I have a question / possible bug to report.
I’m currently playing on Fog Density 5, and I’m not getting all my master seals for Boss Rooms.
When fighting Canes, my team was Forgotten, Reese & August, Swift, Arthur, Zack (Tamer), Faetora. Of these, Faetora was obtained through Fragile Memory, everyone else was a starting unit.
I forget what the “Received X Master Seals” prompt said, but when I look in the glossary NONE of these units’ Canes Seal is filled in.
When fighting Loreia, my team was Forgotten, Reese (& August), Swift, Arthur, Zack (Tamer), Faetora, and Vandread. Of these, Faetora & Vandread were obtained through Fragile Memory, everyone else was a starting unit.
The prompt said “Received 3 Master Seals”, but when I look in the glossary 4 of these units’ Loreia Seals are filled in. Forgotten, Reese, Swift, & Arthur. (It’s possible that one or more of these units already had a Loreia Seal, I can’t remember - but this still doesn’t explain the Seal missing from the other 3 units I used.)
When I look at my Run Info, it says I have “Current Master Seals: 9”. I’m fairly sure I did not get any Master Seals from Camp Deals or anything like that. If I had gotten all the seals I should have normally, then by my count I should have 12-13 depending on if a unit already had a seal going into the Loreia boss.
Am I misinterpreting what grants seals? I also have a little black-silhouetted NPC villager girl following my lead unit during Room Select, but I cannot tell why yet. Does that event have something to do with this?
Nevermind, I finished the run and the correct seals were Filled in by the glossary.
EDIT: Different bug, game crashed.
On the Horo Boss Part 3, the Forest Rider in the top left (one space above the Pylon) spawned with 0 in every stat, and when I move my cursor over him the game crashes. I can only display his stats by selecting a different unit and scrolling down until I get to him. If I press B to cancel out, the game still crashes because the cursor is on him again.
This game played at GBA?
No, it is in a custom engine made to be played on PC.
ya I just wish I could find the codes as I dont remember if there are like collab codes like in Hej.
loving this game so far, but i have a question, in the part of seals menu there are 10 seals but i only have unlocked the ones in act 1 2 and 3 and the final boss, how are you supposed to get the other ones?
Every character that reaches acts 123 and final give you seals. So you just want to use a lot of different people.
