Update!
Bad news: had a family emergency this month, which means my demo will likely be delayed. I’m bad at making games on time.
Good news: I’m gonna participate in SIGURD! As relevant to this page, I’ll be submitting an Heir of Darkness chapter that I had been thinking of. If it gets enough love, I can include it in the main game eventually. I’d love to put my heart into one cool chapter to show to everyone for the SIGURD event, so I appreciate everyone’s patience.
I’m looking forward to seeing that chapter. Would that chapter give us a sample of what to expect from the game? I just wonder what her battle animations be like and all . Her design really nails the fe lord but evil .
Yeah, it’ll be a chapter set during the Tier 1 days (before any super major plot happenings). It’ll have a selection of particular favourite characters and just give a general idea of what a chapter would look like, both in story and gameplay.
Serious question cause I’ve never attempted to use or play a Lex Talionis game before. How does the game work? Do you run it through a GBA emulator or does it have it’s own exe file or something?
As you may have noticed, I missed the opening for the SIGURD contest. I found what I had unsatisfactory for presentation, even though it’s my first game. However, I still plan to eventually get the SIGURD demo up for release, and when that happens, I’ll be opening a Discord server for people interested in the game. My reason being that I’d like to show a bunch of characters who can’t be in the demo due to timeline reasons and get people’s thoughts on a few of them. Rest assured, the 5-6 chapter demo will resume production once the SIGURD chapter is complete.
In general, life has been life. My well-being has improved despite a scooter accident and head injury, so I can probably try to make more progress and have something released in a timely manner. Thanks for anyone still being patient.
I will be pivoting away from my SIGURD-intended demo and resuming work on my 5 chapter demo. The SIGURD demo’s… unique mechanics are a bit difficult for me to implement at my skill level, so I’ll instead focus on the 5 chapter prologue segment that sets up the premise of the full game. Because the maps are a lot simpler, I should honestly be able to work at a better pace. Thanks for your patience!
End of year “neither me nor the game are dead” announcement
game dev is hard, job is kicking my rear. What’s new?
Buuuut, I’m gonna TRY to get this damn demo done. I’m gonna renew my efforts to finish this thing and fight my indecision and perfectionism.
