I have already corrected this on a build I am currently working on. That being said, I am not going to create a patch for this as I am actively working on new chapters and events. It will be fixed in a future release.
I thought u didnāt know so just a remind
Anyone also think ch25 is so hard?
Whole team splitted
Promoted allies cant take on too much if rng screwed and Healers are seperated
(And killing edge assassin)
If feels like enemy have a large advance in stats and weapons
Couldnt find a rune in ch24 25 decided to bench parvati due to low strength and 22 hp at lv18
Amanda recruitment:no female units=no heals in my case
GG
Managed to skip left 2 chests and luck out of it (i didnt train liang)
Tricksters are horrible
Ch 24 has 1 rune in the top center area. I realized this was too few runes recently and added another that is given near the start of the map. Ch 25 has a rune located in each of the outdoor locations. I could possibly add a third rune, but it would likely be the whole map as I donāt want the runeās location to force necessarily a Parvati placement.
22 hp is very low for a lv18 Parvati. You really got RNG screwed there. She should be in the upper 20ās by then.
Yes, that is the condition to recruit Amanda. It is very difficult. I did it once without having a healer. I just had to rely on healing items. That being said, you donāt need to recruit everyone. Iāve only done 2 playthrough with Amandaās map in place. On my second run, I thought she wasnāt worth the effort. Still, Amanda is end game viable at base level and is able to heal. She is a fun unit to grab if you can manage.
I personally thought Parvati was very useful as a Trickster. I liked that she could support the party with staves and nuke things with runes in certain situations. You could choose Scholar instead and get all the magic, though they have bad movement.
It is probably not fair for me to comment on this opinion. I will say the killing edge assassin has never bothered me, but I usually place a strong unit near it to take it out first turn.
Welp the assassin is sure a threat so (paranoic)
But its the reinforcements everywhere and the upgraded enemies made it hard (why quinn had to do this)
Its very dangerous for parvati to get outdoor due to the boss and the reinforcements so i used her as a monk tank that chapter
Yeah but my partys pretty underleveled (i had 16 units trained more or less)
No I mean the enemy trickster is a horror to me 3 range/drain hp
The reason to promote joseph as a wind sage (but dark griffon is cool so I used a lot elixirs) or get an adventurer
Luckily the 15 crit gang is all male so I blew up the defenses to the throne
I have had a lot of people asking me for Hard Mode, so I have focused the last two months revamping and balancing this difficulty. With that said, I would like to officially really Hard Mode of The Lonely Mirror. There are also new chapters and characters added to this release.
FE_LonelyMirror_v5_0.ups is in the Dropbox link. Enjoy!

How to Recruit New Characters?

- Sterling - On Hard Mode, talk with Queenie (Chapter 20)
- Tarin - automatic join (Chapter 28)
- Edith - automatic join (Chapter 29)
Screenshots:
That Phoenix rider looks really clean.
great letās try the hard mode
say goodbye to amanda
btw what choice is it?
Silvan should probably not be a philosopher, but hey, he means well. Happy you enjoy it.
Amanda does still exist in Hard Mode. She exists in every mode.
The added branch in Hard Mode presents itself if you visit the tavern/inn on Chapter 13. The barkeep will mention that smugglers are trying to get into Burga via another route. You will have the choice at Ch 13ās end to go through the Gate of Aeria (Chapter 14: Gathering Storm) or take the smugglerās route (Chapter 14: Distant Thunder).
Glad to see a new update out, the changes to HM have me interested in playing through it again sometime, and special HM chapters and characters sound pretty cool.
Summary
As a preface, I played through these new chapters using my old save file from the old hard mode, so stuff that has been adjusted or added may not have carried over and therefore my experience may be different than intended. That being said, there are some things that regardless I can comment on. If I get the time I may replay the game with the new HM patch to see how things have changed
Chapter 28
I thought ch28 was fine, albeit a little tedious. The promoted enemies were pretty tough to take down, save for a super strong Boone, but there werenāt too many of them for it to be a huge issue. The unpromoted reinforcements were somewhat annoying to deal with but they werenāt too strong so they felt like a minor annoyance rather than a big problem. I liked the memories reducing the bosses stats when destroyed. My biggest issue was not the design or enemies, but the lack of strong weapons to deal with them, which may be a fault on my part as I donāt really remember how generous the game is on money or strong weapons. The story integration was nice and I feel it sets up who I assume will be the final boss pretty well. If Iād make any changes it would be to nerf the promoted enemies a little bit
Chapter 29
I think this map has potential to be good, however there is a big issue with it and thatās defending the boat. After only a few turns the boat is swarmed with enemies, including very strong promoted enemies which can do over half health or even in some cases double and OHKO the boat. This is a big problem as you can get game overād and be able to do nothing about it unless you knew beforehand. There was a promoted centaur that spawned on one turn and doubled and killed the boat from full HP with a silver bow on the next turn. It was so hard that I had to edit the rom so certain enemies couldnāt move so the boat could stay alive. Iād suggest buffing the boat immensely and reducing the enemy density so the boat isnāt swarmed by gargoyles. Youāre already spread pretty thin on the map to begin with so itās hard to dedicate a lot of units to get near the boat and defend it. In general, all the promoted enemies are very strong on this map, so it puts even more pressure on the player. The berserk zombies are also frustrating to deal with since everyone is pretty far apart. The reinforcement shadowshot gorgons are also annoying. All that being said, I do like some parts of the map, the new Sage we get is a good staffbot with S thunder utility, and I like the shopping side objective. Laelās promotion was interesting, however I didnāt use her so it was kinda lost on me. However, Slayer+Flying+staff+solid weapon ranks made her decent enough to use, even if she was very squishy
Things are getting close to the end and Iām looking forward to what the final few maps bring. Keep up the good work
I meant⦠Its probablyi nearly impossible for me to recruit her
On second thought lets finish the hack b4 attempting hard mode
Thank you for the feedback @FLR on Ch 28 and 29, and I am happy to hear that the chapters played with your existing save file. I responded to your comments under the hidden text.
Summary
Chapter 28
I did include a couple of extra silver weapon drops by the time you get to Ch 28 as well as some extra stat boosting items (Angelic robe and energy ring). Silver weapons can also be purchased in Ch 24. Also, the secret shops are a lot more visually noticeable or location are revealed in village/house dialog. If you find the secret shops, you will have access to some other nice weapons too. By Chapter 28, you should also have the S ranked sword, axe, bow, wind tome, and a new lance for Boone along with all the brave weapons too.
I do agree that the promoted enemies can be challenging to take out though. They are a lot easier than before. I nerfed them a lot from previous Hard Mode. It may take a couple more hard mode play throughs from me to really balance some of these maps.
Chapter 29
I definitely see you point regarding the boat. It definitely can get wrecked really early if you are not prepared for a defense after the first turn. Normal mode definitely handles this better as the boat really doesnāt die as easily. I will likely buff the boat in HP and speed some to improve itās chances. That being said, I donāt believe this map is too bad if you treat it like a defense map and stand your ground around the castle and the boat. It is fun to go around the map and kill everything though.
I agree that I found Edith to be immediately useful. She is a great promoted unit that can last you the rest of the game if you choose to continue to use her. Lael can be great if you put some investment in her - especially because there will be a lot of monsters in the remaining chapters.
Yup, things are wrapping up nicely for this project. Only a couple chapters left! That and more support conversations and probably some remaining balancing, but yes, almost a complete Fire Emblem game.
Amanda is certainly the most difficult character to recruit. That being said, you donāt need to recruit everyone. For example, I look back to the times I played Fire Emblem 7. I never found recruiting Karla worth it ever. Recruiting Amanda is less tedious than Karla, and she can also be a great addition to your team if you can get her. Recruiting Liang early instead of Roxie and training him in staves definitely helps with the challenge.
My team had bad def (and spd problems, ever see a sage with higher def than spd)
So I require her so mucg
Btw dark griffon can use dark magbut still being bullied by fire magic?
Yeah hack difficulty, unpromoted enemies ⦠Cant be one turned my promoted allies without silver/crit
(Silvan op, highest spd and str except boone by now)
Enemy hero has 16 def⦠And the great knight have nearly capped atk/def kinda scared what the endgame enemies will be like
Lol the reinforcements will cover quinnās atk range so even amanda will die if she get in quinn range (I put sword reave+ crit negate alr)
Btw didnt it say until turn 12?
Why turn 13 still ā¦
And shane recruit wise said (of course Iām screwing around?)
wise being humble?
Shane flies off to a cluster of archers lol
This is balanced
This has always been the case, and this is not a bug. All griffon classes are weak to fire magic. Similarly all wind magic classes are weak to fire magic; therefore, dark griffon is weak to fire magic. The only exception is Scholar, which wields all the elements and has no weakness.
Assuming you are speaking of Ch 27: Crossroads here. Enemy reinforcements will spawn until turn 12. There should be nothing appearing on turn 13. The chapter is not a survive map, so it will only end after all enemies have been wiped from the map.
I am assuming you are playing on Normal as Hard Mode Halberdier has 50 some HP. You are not given me too much of a data point here other than you are using Joseph. Halberdiers do have decent Res, and I have seen Josephās with poor power and skill.
Firstly, I donāt really know how you play Fire Emblem as everyone plays differently, so it is very difficult for one person (me) to balance every enemy in the game looking through my perspective alone. I am going to continue to balance the game. Just understand that I am one person with one perspective.
Secondly, I have also played this ROM hack and each level an āI lost countā amount of times, so most all the chapters have become very easy to me. I actually enjoy the juicy difficulty of Hard Mode on some of the maps, so in my opinion, yes, it is close to balanced to how I enjoy it. Maybe others feel similarly, maybe others donāt.
oh first time playing this chap
but I think Iām ok with sth like vanilla hard mode
I play in a turtling way so I hate being overwhelmed (krashās hackās fault that Iām traumatized by enemies 2-shotting any units)
if halberdiers have decent res then why Eamon have 5 res or sth?
I think my problem is exp scattered? (more units trained than unit allowance) so my units are about 2-shot
the difficulty ramped up as promoted enemies appear more I think (and traditional fe-style screw you up events), in ch27 you had to rush wise up (and a some luck cuz heās dead if he get hit by brave sword boi once and meteor) to stop shane from suiciding to the silver bow snipers
tho the previous chapters difficulty are ok for me
welp⦠you know joseph wind rank problem and canāt use tornado for now and didnāt have elwind
fire magic is totally āokā bruh joseph didnāt get much res growths
Started playing this hack and i really enjoy it so far and i still playing it, i didnāt encounter any bugs so i played it with ease or maybe itās just my ignorance. That being said i just want to ask some questions and i think its more on recruitment
-
Is judge amanda recruitable? I defeat her everytime while trying to talk some sense on her, well itās actually fine that i didnāt recruit her because sheās totally an asshole
-
Liang. i didnāt get him i donāt know what chapter and what turn he will show up?
-
I try promotion item on Lael but she didnāt get promoted, is she the kind of character who will promote later in the game?
Btw. Wise is my most like character, i like his personality his the kind of idiot that i will always like but also annoying as hell, his a good unit though even shane will face shame.
