While 1-2 range daggers is nice he starts off with E and with his growths it becomes

65% hp, 60% str, 0% mag, 50% skl, 40% spd, 20% luck, 65% def, 80% res then with Aptitude

75% hp, 70% str, 10% mag, 60% skl, 50% spd, 30% lck, 75% def, 90% res.

It’s more like great Master in growths and great master gives Renewal with at a much lower level.

90% RES growth seems pretty nice, considering a lot of units dump RES

Merchant does give Spendthrift at lvl 15, which can help punch through late game bosses like Garon

Ya and with Great master they have 70% Res growth up to 80% with Aptitude while losing 10% res to it is also less effort and his skill list can be all done within his classes alone so getting duplicate is really a player choice and it does have its benefits but you can stick to his 3 classes.

Also with Merchant he does have 16(20 for in merchant with no growths in it which is likely)base luck and with the class his luck growth goes to 35% then up to 45% with Aptitude so ya he could do the merchant build but he needs to stay in merchant for it

In terms ya Shadow is just very strong because he has everything he needs in his kit you just gotta use what’s in his kit how you want as you can do a build where he never reclasses and just promotes and be pretty much set he just wouldn’t have his passive healing and active skill/lancefaire.

His probably gonna be much less stronger in BR but compared to early conquest his VERY strong cuz he didn’t dump his defenses so can do multiple rounds of combat with little problem with seal defense for more damage.

Are his stats different between the routes? I thought it would be the same since you play the same paralogue

When I played through with male Corrin, I also got Metal as servant 1

No their not its more of the units around him as in BR not everyone is brittle like ice they have some bulk to them unlike conquest where most units early game had NO to little bulk besides condor.

Metal doesn’t want to eat hits in Monk, I’m pretty sure Chiaki doesn’t have good DEF/RES either

Yuta is alright because of Siegfraud and HP+5, without those his physical bulk would be dire

Cherry tanks hits to kingdom come

Naomi is fine

Aurelie is a diviner, they’re made of paper

Garran has decent HP but poor defenses + SPD

Diamant is fine

Frankie is Nyx+ but starting with bows, bad DEF

Mistika is glass cannon

Out of these 10, 5 have bulk issues I’d say

If we include Condor and Shadow, then 5/12

Cherry is you’re healer so you don’t WANT her to to be tanking but she can survive being put in enemy range? So she can tank but you don’t want her to, Yuta ya he is carried by weapon and +5 hp, Garran has issues getting doubled so his bulk is less than what it is. 7/12 technically 8/12 with how cherry doesn’t want to be taking hits in general.

I was counting Garran as someone with bulk issues

Cherry taking hits is fine, all you lose out on is a counterattack before promotion

Yuta’s bulk in practice is fine

I do agree that a lot of the BR roster seems to be bulkier, but I wouldn’t say a majority of the early CQ roster is as fragile as ice

Metal + Garran + Aurelie + Frankie + Mistika makes 5

Ya I’d only add conditionally cherry as you don’t REALLY want her to use her bulk to tank but it says alot if you’re having to have you’re healer who you don’t want getting attacked to be the one taking hits. Like yes she is tanky but do you really want to be using you’re healer to be taking hits when her good bulk is ment to let her be in enemy range without dying to a breeze but even if you don’t count her that’s nearly half of early conquest with bulk issues

But I’m fine with lowering his base luck from 16 to 12 so in game he has 14 luck if you’re really arguing to nerf him cuz only other way to nerf him to change his class from what it is.

Cherry starts with 14 DEF as a Troubadour, the same as Effie, a Knight with DEF+2. I’d say that’s a little more than just not minding being in enemy range lol

Personally I think she really wants an early promo into Strategist so she can put her bulk to use in combat, potentially equipping the Horse/Sheep Spirit for even more survivability.

I’m not calling for a nerf at this point, removing a few points of LCK won’t change how Shadow plays and even nerfing other stats wouldn’t make anyone happier. It’s more I’m giving an example of how unit balancing could be done better in the future.

Ya its more of the early game skill combo shadow has that makes him very strong conquest but BR shouldn’t be as dominating for him and in Rev his still gonna be super good due to limited unit cast you have early RV

I think he’ll do fine in BR, mixed bulk becomes quite valuable later on.

Also just so you know, personal stats can go into the negatives, like Arthur’s LCK. Shadow has a lot of points in other stats, too. I think his personal base total is higher than Spear Fighter’s base total, actually.

I feel like in Rev most of the con units might be dropped for the BR units sadly ;-;

Rev earlygame roster is basically just BR

Maybe Rev could be an iron man…?
