Fire Emblem: Dark Stone - FE8, but you play as the bad guys! [Overhaul with a new story]

Am I missing something? This door can’t seem to open with lockpicks, door keys or the unlock staff.

Check the Guide. You have to kill everyone outside first, then this door will open up.

Got it, thanks.

I updated the guide later to reflect this.

I did away with all the gender differences in caps and constitution. It’s just dumb.

He does have some of the biggest availability in the game, though! He doesn’t say much but he’s there.

…Oof…

Yeah, there’s a low chance that Novala’s summons will show up with Garm. Just for the fun of it.

I thought he was okay, but eh. Maybe I’ll give him a buff down the line, we’ll see.

Weird question:

Spoilers

Do you get anything different for rescuing Saar vs letting him die in his recruit chapter? In my first attempt he got ambushed by the shaman and died but saw that there was a unique cutscene if that happens, so I was wondering if I should just redo the map and let him die in the arena anyway.

You loose whatever Saar has in his inventory, plus the TA if you want it. Also whatever supports Saar has.

You lose anything Saar had in his inventory, access to the triangle attack, supports (and +1 move to the armorknights), and anything you didn’t get from the villages, the supports and the +1 move hurt the most but if you weren’t planing to use the other armorknights, go for it i guess

Postgame Spoiler

There’s no Talisman being sold in any of the postgame secret shop? All other stat boosters are sold there, including Strange Herb.

Minor suggestion: Bump up the base LCK of Selena and Beran by 1, then lower their LCK growths by 10% to compensate. They face low% crit in ch. 1 (and 2) on Hard Mode unless they level well, but you don’t have a large enough party yet to be able to play around that smoothly*.

*They’re both ranged units, but because your party hasn’t developed yet, they’ll both be taking hits if you’re moving at a swift pace.

Oh, that’s my bad. I’ll add it to one of the shops.

A fair suggestion. I’ll see about it.

Just beat chapter 5x and gotta say it’s one of the best designed chapters I’ve ever played. Felt like I had to make the most out of every single action if I wanted to get all the items. Super satisfying. Moving forward, but with constant pressure from the reinforcements, and then utilizing the mid chapter event. Chef’s kiss

v1.8 released!

  • Increased Selena and Beran’s luck by 1. Lowered their growths to compensate.
  • Added talismans to the Rausten secret shop on the worldmap for the postgame.
  • Increased Morva’s experience gains slightly and his base strength by 3.
  • Moved Melina’s first scene in chapter 6 to immediately after the start of the chapter.
  • Updated the guide to reflect the different promotion options of the two monk variants. Yeah, again. I just checked and immediately after 1.6 I started uploading an outdated version of the guide I had in my other computer lol. If anyone notices any other discrepancies, please let me know.

Thank you

Thank you

The impressions I’ve gotten on that chapter in particular are very mixed so I’m glad to see more people who enjoyed it.

How do you increase the experience gains of a character?

By fiddling with their class’s relative power. I found this thing that doesn’t seem to do much on FE8.

Sacred Stones - Boss Recruitment-139

My understanding is that the EXP formula for promoted units adds the class power of the class itself and the class power of the class listed here. If you ignore what FEBuilder tells you and set this to 0, there’ll be no class power to add and the unit will have unpromoted gains while promoted. It’s how I handled Lyon as well.

v1.9 released!

  • Changed the menu class of Lyon’s necromancer class and Morva’s manakete class to an unused class with a power level of 0 to avoid potential issues. This should not impact their experience gains, and there are no issues that I am aware of currently, but this was brought to my attention and I decided better be safe than sorry.
  • Lowered Orson’s luck by 1 so it’s tied for the lowest luck in the hack. For flavor.
  • Updated the guide to fix a number of inconsistencies and mistakes.

I really like your work,Is there a possibility of sinicization?

dude If you want to translate the Hack to Chinese say so. don’t use Fancy word like : “sinicization” I literally had to google it to understand the meaning

Glad you’ve enjoyed it! I don’t know the language, so I wouldn’t do it, but if someone else wants to do it I would not be opposed.

Carlyle getting Orson’d is quite possibly the funniest shit

That is one of the potential outcomes, yeah! There’s four whole variants to that scene, depending on his status and whether or not you performed the alternate event.
