FIRE EMBLEM - Code of the Black Knights: Decisive Edition (30 chapters)

The new animation is finished!

I’m not the best animator, but I think this is much better.

i would actually not mind if there was a option to play with the unfinished animation, like some kind of fire emblem but with stick figures

I had an idea not too many years ago to make Xiao Xiao Emblem. The idea being, you make a fire emblem where all the animations use stick figures, like those old flash animations.

I still think it’s a great idea. At the time, I talked to PwnageKirby about it and she ended up making some kind of similar, yet different: A minimalist artstyle FE. I still want to see this followed up.

Unfortunately, Snakemom’s old channel had a video of this project being played, but it’s no longer on the internet so I can’t show it off. Sad times.

yeah,in my opinion they should keep a “draft version” of the game as some sort of bonus or unlockable for S-Rank every level, even the cutscenes are with stick figures

Yes, but unfortunately the stickman version never touched the game engine XD.

Well… I have never had an issue with patching before, but sadly there’s a first time for everything lol. I cannot use your patch. After unzipping the file I have a folder full of mp3 files… where is the patch lol?

You accidentally downloaded the OST

The patch is at the menu in the beginning of the post.

Thanks to everyone who has been playing the hack!
The final (This time I mean it) version has been released! It has fixes for more bugs, but most importantly it has a lot of new content, such as:

  • New animations
    schw_sw1
  • New bossfights.
  • A whole new world map, remade using Inkarnate.
  • A new enemy-exclusive class.
  • Reworked chapters and a new prologue.
    palettes
  • Remade palettes.
  • New music, including the title screen theme.
  • Expanded scenes and improved maps.
  • Adjusted S-rank conditions.

And more!
The download link is at the beginning of the post. Those of you who played and enjoyed the 1.0 version, feel free to pick the game back up!

About pre-decisive edition saves.

In order to load your save without issues, follow these steps:

  • Rename all your saves to whatever the new ROM is. Make sure the names match (Except for the .gba part).
  • Load your savestate or savefile as usual.
  • Close the emulator and restart it.
  • Restart the chapter. Everything should be where it was!

As always, thanks for playing Code of the Black Knights!

Chapter 18

In chapter 18, if I were to warp in to the chest room is there anything in the chests?

(pretty sure I saw a buyable rescue staff at some point so I could theoretically warp in open the chests and rescue back out)

There isn’t last I checked. (learned that the hard way)

I believe any purely visual glitch can be fixed by suspending and resuming the game since the game has to unload and reload everything when doing that.

I love the changes made to Chapter 16’s both parts- makes the chapter a lot more bearable, especially with the second part.

Imaginary Joke Ending (CONTAINS MAJOR SPOILERS FOR CHAPTER 16):

Ending H(acks, I call Hacks!):

(Obtained by somehow killing all the Rune Knights and Vert during that big escape sequence somehow).

Vert: “… what. What the actual fuck-”

Schwarze:“No, fuck you, Vert!” Kills Vert.

And so, with Vert killed, everyone lived happily ever after.

Well, everyone except Artemisa, that is.

Sees new Decisive Edition.

… eh, I’m not restarting the entire game this far in lmao. So long as it doesn’t break saves, this is fine.

I could not tell you why, but I cannot get Petal to evolve. It’s supposed to at the start of chapter 15 pt. 2 right? I have Rose promoted to swordmaster, and I just updated to this final release to see if my (and seemingly only my) issue fixed itself, but to no avail. This also happened on the previous version and played through the whole game with it unevolved, but Rose was unpromoted at Ch. 15 so I thought that might be the issue. Skipping cutscenes/not seemed to have no impact.

This bug has been reported before, I think it’s related to the emulator. Every test run I have made (At least in VBA) has worked perfectly with Petal’s upgrades…

Then the problem becomes that I am using VBA though…

If you’re using VBA, then I have no idea what’s causing it .-.
It’s still a rare bug, though. I have only one other report of it happening.
