Oh I didn’t see you just posted an even newer version, but I think I had the one before that, though it might have been even one earlier. It’s pretty late where I am, so I’ll try that in the morning and let you know.
Thanks for the congratulations, was a great hack. Gonna go through a different ending tomorrow hopefully. I wanna post some more detailed feedback when I’m done with that.
Alright I tried the latest version and something different happened. This time, instead of softlocking on that screenshot, it instantly turned to black and looped back into the other character endings indefinitely.
This is a really awesome game. Thanks for your hard work! I actually found myself loudly laughing at certain parts which (while I’m not one to hide my emotion) is a pretty cool thing to happen lol. I would say if I had one small critique it would be that some of the character palettes don’t line up fully with the portraits. I’m a big fan of that sort of thing but even without it I still felt immersed in this world.
From a technical point of view, How did you change up the portraits after the time skip? I’ve been wanting to utilize a similar thing for the hack I’ve been dreaming up but I wasn’t sure such a thing was possible on the GBA games.
My green unit Mithra started running around casting fortify in the route A interlude, dunno what that was about. Also my 26A kept crashing a few turns in, but I forgot to screenshot the error message. Fortunately, I was able to warp and complete the chapter before that happened.
i know it dosen’t mean much since yall already finished the game and whatnot but as an infantry enthusiant having only 1 mymidon where in smaller roster games like sacred stones have 2 mymidons so having 1 mymidon seem too little an amount espically when you have to sacrifice a mage to do so
There is a patch in FEBuilder that lets you change a unit’s portrait as long as a certain condition is fulfilled, such as class (For example, switching Ike’s portrait to it’s promoted version), flag, chapter, etc.
In this case, a flag is set when the timeskip begins, and as long as that flag is set all portraits used will be their timeskip versions.
Good luck if you want to start your project!
Thats really cool and thanks! I did notice a glitch I wanted to report. It seems I can’t use Noirs personal weapon. It’s in her inventory but unusable in battle
I seem to have found myself in possession of some rather potent items that were definitely not there a few minutes ago. I have no idea what caused them to appear; looks like an underflow of some kind at a glance. They appeared at Endgame A’s unit selection screen.
Hey there, made an account on FEU to congratulate you on a mostly well done hack!
But there's a small problem
I did run into an admittedly irrelevant bug though. At the beginning of chapter 8 you get a Light Brand, yes? The thing is, the item ended up obliterating specifically the Steel Blade Schwarze was holding in his personal inventory (At least this is what I determined with some testing. Obviously it didn’t end up in convoy, I don’t even get a prompt on full inventory on that one in fact, and sending the Blade to convoy before the end of 7B doesn’t prevent it from being erased). Steel Blades are doodoo for the most part so my only regret about it is the money I spent on it, but I’m hoping this doesn’t happen again on better items in later chapters.
(Steel blade is the first item in inventory (see icon). I clear C7B.) (I get the Light Brand in C8, Steel Blade is gone.) (Steel Blade is not in convoy, nor in Schwarze’s inventory.)
Is there any way to plausibly defeat Black Weapon? With my current lineup I guess my playthrough ends here ;-; Renewal is brutal too, there’s no way I can do more than 30% of its health before it regens. And Adept is basically a 31% + 30% (Because Rightful God) screw you.
It’s most likely a bug caused from updating mid-playthrough… It shouldn’t be too big of a problem, just load a savestate and it will be fine. Probably :v
