Even though I kind of like what they’ve done with Cloud’s design over the years, there’s nothing that compares to the original look. That hair is magnificent.
well, Cloud has always been quite unique in terms of JRPG character design, that’s for sure.
he started off as an anime character with few changes over the years depending on the title he was featured in, but FF VII AC was pretty much the turning point, when Nomura decided to give him a more realistic haircut.
anyway, as expected his spiky hair was way too big for the hackbox, so there wasn’t much i could do about that.
however, since i didn’t want to leave the sketch unfinished, i ended up making a variant out of curiosity.
it turned out okeish, although it’s kinda odd because as usual i reached 12 colors out of 16, and then i ran out of ideas.
it’s also slightly bigger than the traditional FE mugs, i tried to resize it as much as possible but making it smaller than this would’ve been a pain in the ass to work with, so i’ll leave it as it is for the time being:
FF VII - Altered Cloud

I think his neck it’s too large … And it doesn’t really looks like cloud without his picky hair so
I recommend to move his portrait below. There’s no need to show his full neck or shoulders imo
So if you do that you can add his picky hair back and it should looks better or at least more Cloudy ;3
That’s what I think
that’s actually fine, i used the same proportions as the official Ehrgeiz artwork made by Nomura:
i could have lowered it, but as you can see from the official art, there’s just not enough space.
it would have ended with his chin touching the bottom line, and that visually sucks big time.
making a half body would be an alternative, in wich case it would probably work better, but since most people prefer the vanilla mugs, i decided to go for that setup and call it a day.
i could still do it eventually, i just don’t have any valid reason for doing it at the moment.

[GBA detailed portraits] Gundam - AGE

SRW OG2 - Alteisen

Megaman - Zero

the big boys have made a comeback, and now they’re even bigger than before~
same treatment as always, improved old sprites with plenty of fixes.
also added a new one, the Wildschwein.
on a side note: the “assembled” mugs have been left with static eyes frames just to avoid conflicts with the external square frames.
some of these can probably be edited again, but for now they’ll stay as they are to avoid errors.
you’ll have to put both mugs next to each other in order to work properly and obtain the full sprite.
“Having sworn fealty, must I spend my life in servitude?”

here’s my attemp on Steiner from Final Fantasy IX.
doing the hat lineart was already difficult enough, shading everything killed me inside.
reached 10 colors, then i lost the count. there’s probably less than 16 though, don’t worry.
also, beware of the 6 pixels pointy hat piece on the left. those are not leftover noise pixels, it’s an external square portion of the hackbox~
i honestly had no plans whatsoever for doing this, but after looking at @ZessDynamite’s Freya, i simply could not hold back the inspiration.
gave some more assets to Rutger, or “Rutoga”, like they say in Japanese:

made for the CCC contest~
holy crap, summer sure is hot right now, gotta go grab a fan before i start melting too…
wich also reminds me that i made a thing a while ago for this year’s FEE3, although i never posted it because i actually wanted to wait for the main topic to show up.
however, since it’s probably going to take a while to organize everything anyway, i suppose a little sneak peek shouldn’t hurt:

it’s a bit more in line with the actual fire theme, probably not as sparkly like the previous banner, but it should still do the job~
hey, i’m still alive.
i decided to edit a couple of sprites from the Sega Genesis version of Langrisser II, to be more specific the legendary swords Alhazard( the dark one ) and Langrisser( the light one ):
» the original sprite

» the edits i made

» an example of how they could work

eventually, the swords could be edited yet again to remove the hilt and just leave the blade part, but since i’m too lazy for that right now, they’ll stay as they are for the time being.
until next time~
little thing i did for the CCC, Hoshidan Arete:

also edited my old Azura out of mercy, so now her cloth shading palette is more in line with the other colors:

and that’s all for now. see ya~
“Have you been a naughty boy?”

…totally not playing Bayonetta right now ![]()
anyway, after picking up the game again, i decided to make 4 variants of Cereza because why not.
i’m sure you’ll figure out all the differences if you s̶t̶a̶r̶e̶ look hard enough, but basicly it goes like this:
[ from left to right ] Original | Alternative | Makeup only | Clean
aaand back to shooting angels we go~
well, i guess it’s time for more backgrounds bois~
this time around i decided to go for something less realistic, and a bit more anime.
here’s the results after checking around the internet for a while, resizing images and lowering the resolution to 64 colors maximum( less than that means crap quality, so these are probably more suited for either Lex Talionis or Tactile ).
so, the previews:
» Night Sky Backgrounds

» Sky Backgrounds

and the .zip file with all these inside: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1aZ7fzsE0W7o0kpJ8VL038ydofESDmb5g/view?usp=sharing
ah yes, before i forget, here’s also a little teaser of…something:

i wonder what could it be? ![]()
don’t mind me, just checking some stuff for study purposes:

there’s probably some magic fuckery going on in FEU’s boards, everytime i make a post here it says it’s been ages since someone actually posted something, wich isn’t right at all.
anyway, working on some of my older mecha stuff, mainly to revamp a couple things.
however, it should be noted that these reworked sprites, compared to their original versions that are still present in my main gallery, are NOT F2U/F2E.
so yeah, look but don’t touch. thanks~
Angelus

UI Elements - Battle Screens

another custom entry( NOT F2E/F2U ) for the AS project, the Lunagrave:

thing i just did for the CCC, wich turns out it’s actually NOT F2U/F2E even if it’s 7 years old…so yeah, look but don’t touch.
credits go to LuminescentBlade for the original sprite:
[removed by staff]
by the way, i’m not giving up on Ryoma.
even though the one in the above post isn’t technically available, the next one will surely be for everyone. that much i guarantee you.
as they say, if you want things done, do them yourself:

work in progress bois~
not only is it not technically available, it is literally not available
I have removed the sprite at the request of the original artist.
note to self: don’t touch sprites that are not yours. lesson learned ✓
anyway, i just stumbled upon a dilemma: while i have almost completed the mug i promised, i’m not entirely sure if i could post it in here due to CCC rules:
- No pre-existing artwork! The point of this contest is to expand the repo, so we want new art. Also, it’s unfair to compete against artwork that may have had weeks or months of editing work put into it.
however, considering the fact that the portrait actually is new art, and that there’s no Ryoma mugs whatsoever currently present in the repo, these things are kind of in conflict with themself.
besides, the portrait was made exactly for the CCC, but since there’s also this time limit of 2 weeks for reasons, i’m kind of bound, so to say.
what to do, what to do…
ah well, guess i can either let the time go by, or eventually just post it in the main repo thread and call it a day.
for now, i’ll wait and polish a bit further what i’ve made.
[edit] …ah, screw it. i’m just going ahead and post everything 'cause i have no patience.
the whole point of making these was to add at least one Ryoma portrait to the repo, so in the end if i can partecipate or not in the next CCC doesn’t really matter.
so, here’s my take on Ryoma, wearing his “Supreme Samurai” outfit from Heroes.
couldn’t manage to add the halo on his back though, that was just way too big to fit in the hackbox.
while doing and fixing his hair partially killed me, polishing every other small detail from laces to decorations literally sent my soul into the oblivion and beyond. the time i’ve spent editing this guy was a lot, trust me.
so, here’s the portraits:
» Default:

» Maskless:

» How it would look:

enjoy~
meanwhile, i’ll go try to recover my sanity after spriting/editing this nightmare ![]()
~psst. hey you. yes, you. come over here.
can you guess what i’m currently working on?

you get +10 internet points if you manage to guess it right just from her haircut and colors palette.
