I mean, even if that weren’t the case, it wouldn’t be the end of the day. My Sigurd submission is already somewhat of a Paladin unit anyway. In fact, I think the Knight Lord class is even stronger than the Paladin class, since it has one additional point of Movement.

You could consider creating a mounted Shaman class. Something similar to a Troubadour, but focused on the use of dark magic instead. I just wanted to mention this in case you find the idea interesting.This approach would allow you to create a promoted hybrid Paladin. A melee-focused magic class with access to Dark Magic, as well as weapons such as axes, lances or swords and staves.

Dark Knight has Sword, Anima and Dark though. They could create a class with Axe, Dark and Staves.

May I make a suggestion and propose swapping the roles in your Link and Zelda submission?
That way, Eirika would take on the role of Zelda, and Ephraim would be Link.
I realize this is only a PME, but in the context of FE8, it makes more sense: Eirika is the princess who flees the castle with Seth, while Ephraim is already out in the world with Forde, Kyle, and Orson. Of course, this is just a suggestion.
