-----------------------------------------------------DEV LOG #01-----------------------------------------------------
The first in a series of dev logs! These will actually mostly be to showcase units, both their stats as well as a demonstration screenshot of their appearance in battle, since this time I already have everything organized to be able to work on the hack much better. Let’s get started.

@WiiSportsRemote Here’s how Yowyin will be looking like:

@czechball Here’s how Symon will be looking like:

@Dex Here’s how Alexandra will be looking like:

@DonutPlains1 Here’s how Efua will be looking like:

@TritraSerpifeu Here’s how Dreyfus will be looking like:

@AnneEgge Here’s how Jones will be looking like:

Next, as everyone can see, I’ve implemented a new status screen, thanks by SaXor_the_Nobody, as well as a new battle screen, the Chrono Trigger inspired thanks by Cynon. All of them I’ll see if I’ll make more edits here and there, for example slightly adjust their palletes so they look the most like each other, hope they’ll look very cool in-game.

Last, but certainly not the least important, with FE8 there’s always a choice of new minimugs to implement, and the one I’ve ultimately choose is the “Vision Quest Style with Item List” minimug (credits to Zane, Pandan, Scraiza, ZaneAvernathy, everyone who made these possible).

It was chosen as I really liked the balance of both information and how compact it is. And while it doesn’t showcase info of unit’s Skills, since in practice you’ll only need to worry about skills in bosses, as well as class skills that you can very easily identify on the map in late game, this minimug will still work very well as a QoL to grant players info they need during gameplay.

You can also see from the screenshots that I’ve already started working on new icons for both weapons and items as well, just some icons might still be subject to change.
(And Wii be sure to post the new icons for Yowyin’s Prf weapons too later)

And that’s all for this dev log! Cheers. :star:

Name: Haru
Replace: Wight
Class: Trueblade (F)
Affinity: Wind
Portrait (by Armory):

Description: A wandering swordfighter seeking a worthy foe.

Inventory: Wo Dao, Hoplon Guard (drop)
Pow: Physical
Boon: SPD
Bane: RES
Skills: Lightweight, Resolve, Colossus

Battle Quote: Oh hey, a person! I was getting tired of these worthless monsters, who are too afraid to even fight me. You should be a more worthy opponent than these worthless monsters. Come! We fight!
Defeat Quote: Oof! Seems like you really got the better of me. Well, I guess this is yours then. Maybe we’ll meet again, once I’m stronger, of course.

I finally bothered to download Blazing Stones so I could look inside to see what the actual boss bases are… and they’re unchanged. But one way or another, I have all the information to optimize by boss sets, so here goes: Effectively has 26 SPD due to her skills. Hoplon Guard fixes the CrtAvo issue of having 1 LCK, and given how early in the game this is, you probably cannot drop her to 0 HP from above 50%, meaning Resolve will go off on her 21 SKL and 23 SPD. A lack of LCK does hamper her evasion somewhat, but still, it should be more than enough to survive several turns at this point in the game. Ch11 Wight actually has some impressive personal bases.

FYI the Rath replacement learns Nihil, if you are struggling too much.

Slot: Hawkeye
Name: Midurr
Gender: Female
Class: Marshall
Affinity: Dark
Portrait (by GaryTop):

Description: Rausten’s hammer, cares little for conversation in the heat of battle. All who oppose Rausten will fall by her hand.

Inventory:
Silver Axe
Slender Spear
Silver Blade
Elixer

Pow: Strength
Boon: Skl
Bane: Res

Growth Rates:

HP: 5%
STR: 50%
MAG: 0%
SKL: 80%
SPD: 35%
LCK: 5%
DEF: 40%
RES: 5%

Personal Skills:

S1: Trample
S2: Resolve
S3: Colossus

Defeat Quote: There is no rest for me… None at all…

Personality: Midurr doesn’t dwell on her past a lot, finding it pointless to even recall it at all. What she is now is what truly matters, a member of Rausten’s forces to ensure it’s continued survival. She is a composed, patient person who’s mercy is non-existent for the enemy. She enjoys polishing her armor and is rarely seen without it even outside of battle. She dreams of owning a dog and retiring at some beachside, it’s unclear why she can’t fufill the former.

I’m reserving Caellach

I’d like to reserve O’Neil

Can’t wait to use Dreyfus as a wall and then outclass the actual armor knight in classic Fire Emblem fashion!

@Shadow_the_halberdier What will be both the battle animations and the map animations of the Blue Mage and Dreadfighter classes? Double checking just in case you found new animations that you think will look perfect for the classes.

This is more of a mini update for a balance buff; as Alexandra’s Beyond Heaven will be the only 1-2 bow in the final release, I’ll in turn put a buff that I was already considering earlier: the legendary bow Murgleys will now have increased range at 2-3 (just like Longbow).

And so, this makes Murgleys the only Regalia capable of attacking at 3 range, and should make it much more appealing to train up bow users to use and abuse it’s range lol. Hope y’all like it. :star:

What are the class skills for Thief Lord and Warrior?

@Starshadow_Melody On the ‘CLASS LIST - Vanilla’, only the classes mentioned at the bottom ‘Class Skill’ list have them. Any vanilla class not mentioned does not have class skills.

All right, let’s rephrase- what are the skills Yowyin and Efua have besides Discipline and Surveillance(and apparently Steal)?

EDIT: I can’t identify them just by the icon, since I’m not super familiar with them yet…

EDIT 2: Right, prepromotes start with two skills, so that just leaves the one shared icon.

@Starshadow_Melody No problem! I can list them here to help;

Yowyin
S1: Discipline
S2: Pass
S3: Astra
Promoted Lord Class Skill [Yowyin]: Corona

Efua
S1: Surveillance
S2: Grit
S3: Nihil

RIght, shove. So I can’t really take advantage of that in trying to do what I wanna do with O’Neil’s slot…

@Starshadow_Melody Ah! I didn’t knew if the Shove skill was confusing on the screenshots.
Just to make sure if anybody else didn’t knew about the innate skills that will be on this hack:

I mean. Dreyfus has 2 more defense than Gilliam on base. I never liked Gilliam that much, he just doesn’t have that “wow! My man is invincible” factor an armor knight desperately needs in an axe heavy early game where he will get hit a lot.

May I see Bulwark’s bases?

@Starshadow_Melody No problem:

Bulwark

[M] - HP: 20 Str: 4 Mag: 0 Skl: 1 Spd: 1 Def: 9 Res: 0 Con: 13
[F] - HP: 18 Str: 3 Mag: 1 Skl: 2 Spd: 3 Def: 8 Res: 1 Con: 12

Armor’s bases totals to 48, two more than the 40 to 46 bases from the other vanilla and custom classes, because they gain 2 extra points on their Defense stat for free.
