I class-changed Caliope, but when I re-acted allies with the anime off, it crashed ![]()
Huh. I didn’t know Caliope could class change with a normal promotion item. It likely crashed because she doesn’t have a proper promotion class set up. Was this with the Taleezian Herald or the Vrothian Crest? (Her animation data would be Great Lord from FE8)
When I tried to move Calliope, the “Promote” option appeared even though I didn’t have any promotion items.
Looks like FE8’s Great Lord, huh.
The battle animation didn’t play, though.
This happened in Chapter 9.
Was she level 20? Most classes can auto-promote at Level 20 in Liberty’s Beacon, but Elegist and Vandal are intended to have story-based promotions.
Yeah, it was level 20 ![]()
I’ve been kind of feeling down and discouraged lately due to my health problems, so progress has slowed down. I don’t plan to post any more public patches until the hack is [COMPLETE], which will hopefully be sometime in 2027. Out of my own hubris, I’m curious to see what everyone’s favourite map is so far. This can tell me what maps I could maybe work on improving in the future.
- Ch 1:Thieves By Necessity
- Ch 1x:The Road Ahead
- Ch 2:The Southern Daggers
- Ch 3:Warm Welcome
- Ch 4:Of Frost And Flame
- Ch 5:War’s Precipice
- Ch 6:Odd Bedfellows
- Ch 7:Taking The Bluff
- Ch 8:Flight In The Forest
- Ch 9:The Price
- Ch 10:The Coming Storm
- Ch 11:The Swell Of War
I’m really sorry to hear you’ve been going through a tough time. Please don’t push yourself too hard—your health comes first.
I just want you to know that I absolutely love this game, and I’m more than happy to wait as long as it takes. I’ll be here patiently until it’s complete, no matter how long that is.
Take good care of yourself, and I truly hope things get better for you soon.
That means a lot to me, thank you for telling me that. When I am able to work on my project, I try to put a lot of thought and passion into my work, in spite of the fact that I’m not the most consistent developer. I’ll make sure to put you in Special Thanks for my credits for being an encouragement to me.
sorry to hear you are having a bad time and i second what zenra says that your mental well being is more important and i’m sure ppl understand if that means the hack takes more time.
also looking forward to it-
Hello! I just played through 1 and 1x, and wanted to share my thoughts
First off, the class selection is so much fun
A monster jeigan, axe thief lord and male troubadour, plus dancer lord
I also love that in 1x, I mostly used Merryl to tank, and it felt intentional
Both chapters felt tight, and both were very rewarding in side quests
One thing I noticed, is that some physical units have a ton of hp, and a big growth in it too
Why specifically Paris? It feels overkill, paired with his good growths in most areas, and his high base of 37
I’m not sure if it’ll make them overpowered, but it is a thing to follow up on
The archers felt too speedy to me, but I didn’t struggle killing them, so maybe that doesn’t matter much
This text box got warped, and the end of the sentence needs a space before it
Says here sages can summon, but he wasn’t able to, is that a mistake? A later gimmick to sages?
The level up jingle got cut off in chapter 1, which I think is a channel number issue, so check that out(item get jingle, too)
it feels a bit weird to me that the flame spear is E rank, and also that most units start with E rank
Armorslayer is usually a D rank, and I don’t see any reason Melonie has to start with E, so why?
I love what I played so far, and thank you for making it
My favorite is immediately Elliot, fancy boy who cam do everything except take a physical hit
I’ll continue to play and write down my thoughts
A few comments to reply to regarding your feed back:
-Melonie starts with E rank because she builds her Sword Rank ridiculously fast from her prf weapon, the Brave Foil. I wanted to keep the Armorslayer as a can-opener in early game, so it was moved to E Rank.
-I can look at the issue with the level up jingle and item jingles. It’s definitely a channel issue, but I’m not completely certain how to adjust it.
-Flame Lance was originally sort of a Joan prf, but I wanted it to be usuable by any Lance user but limited by its durability. It can absolutely be bumped to D since Joan starting with D makes narrative sense.
-Sages summoning has not been implemented yet. This concept was in development before Dictys and Ch 1x was made, so I’m considering the ramifications of giving an early game Sage that can summon.
-The Archers in 1x are the Thief equivalent in Liberty’s Beacon–Outlaws! They are relentlessly dodgy but their main claim to fame is their Speed. You’ll fight mainly standard archers later into the game.
-I can take a look at Paris’ HP. Thanks for the feed back!
I see I see
Thank you for the reply!
Okay so…I told myself I wouldn’t dev-blog but I want to make a special exception so that I don’t keep people in the dark.
I will be at FEE3 2026, but this time I’ll be submitting an interview about my project. I’m a little behind schedule but rest assured, chapters have been made behind the scenes. My current road-map is looking like this:
Interlude 2 and Chapter 12 (not in Public Demo)-Complete
Ch 13-by the end of June
Ch 14 and 15-by end of July
Ch 16-by end of August (Maybe Ch 17)
Ch 17-18 by end of September
Ch 18 (Maybe 19) by end of October
Ch 19-20 by end of November
December-Month break, work on supports mainly and reflect
January 2027-Ch 20/21
Feb 2027-Ch 21/22
March 2027-Ch 22/23
April 2027 23/24
May 2027 24/Endgame
June 2027 Endgame
So unless I pick up the pace or find someone to help me with writing supports and cleaning up maps, expect to see the hack done by Summer 2027.
I’m always looking for internal playtesting, so if this interests you or you’d like to help with the project in a small way, don’t be afraid to reach out!
Keep it up sir Cygnus, i love ur hack
