Did you…not read lol?
You’re not playing as the antagonists lmfao.
Vin
For what it’s worth, you aren’t actually expected to kill Vin in most of the cases where you fight him with his Prf. The chapters where you encounter him with the Main Gauche are designed around leaving him alive, and by the time you actually do have to defeat him for real, you will have proper tools to do so.
Clearly the solution here is to, instead of doing a rom rebuild, put the final half of the game in a second disk, final fantasy style.
holy shit… it’s time to deity our devices
(I’ll think on it when I stop kicking this can down the road)
Anyways, I caught something last night so I ran to the library today to do a speedy hotfix. This addresses two big issues: most importantly, a rather embarrassing softlock where the boss of Chapter 18 wouldn’t play the correct music nor would his death properly end the chapter under certain circumstances. It also provides a temporary solution to an eventing oversight in Chapter 17 where an event could unintentionally make players permanently lose units when they really weren’t supposed to. A few other bits of proofreading and polishing have been done too but that’s a given. Patch link has been updated accordingly, thanks for bearing with me.
Nothing special to commemorate today, sorry. Next update is still a ways away, in part because there is a nonzero chance I might actually try to tackle the space-related issues next. Instead I’ll just note that there is now a folder on the initial post that denotes every hack that is currently represented in the game.
While I personally think it’s more fun to go in blind without knowing which hacks are included, I thought it might be useful to outline this for record-keeping anyways. Please try some of these hacks on your own if you aren’t familiar with them!
I would say that of all the referenced hacks mentioned in the game, I have played about 50% of them. The writing is funny enough for me to laugh, even if I haven’t fully played the remaining 50% anyway.
when the droppable main gauche is too much of a draw
the setup for this is pretty easy but you need some rigging for it to be reliable-ish (like, it is unironically likelier to get this kill than missing a focus blast in Pokemon)
Setup
-
Get Daltry below half HP - doable by using the Zachary clone’s Restrainer (one spawns in between Daltry’s cell and Vin’s room). The bigger problem is getting the clone himself to target Daltry. An alternative is having Daltry attack the Zachary clone, but Daltry needs to miss the clone. You can rescue someone and use the granz+ to try and nerf your hit rate.
-
If Daltry’s HP is still too high, let Vin attack him until below half HP. Vin has 12 atk so Daltry needs to have at most 11 def.
-
Give the vision ring + 1984 book to Daltry and roll until he kills with the Perseus
At 19 skill Daltry gets 37 total skill with Resolve active which raises his hit to 186 (incl C support bonuses from Lydia), giving him 45 hit on Vin. Daltry 2HKOes Vin so with Dorian thrown into the equation it’s a 16.77% chance to kill with one round, and 30.73% to kill with 2 rounds of combat. If you’re fast enough you can probably afford another turn which pushes your win-rate even higher.
why do you need the actual main gauche? you actually don’t, but samto can wield it which is really funny
also i killed astram too lol alair is fair and balanced
You thought a novelization wasn’t enough? Peep this: they made an entire gacha game based on Fire Emblem: Infinite Kings. Now that’s something that few (if any) hacks can boast of if you ask me.
EDIT: if enough people click on the above link within 7 days, I’m throwing in another promo code for free stuff into the game
To celebrate this feat of localization, I’m announcing some huge LOCALIZATION CHANGES that will be added¹ in the next update! Inspired by another project, these are exclusive to EASY mode only, and they will alter the story to be more palatable and comprehensible to all viewers around the globe. Including, but not limited to:
Weapon localizations to make everything safer, friendlier, and more fun for the whole family!

Frothy mugs of water, for beverage lovers of all ages!

Story revamps all around, to ensure that international readers can still understand the text clearly!

And so much more!!!

You heard it here first, gamers.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to get back to reading the Fire Emblem: Infinite Kings-inspired gacha game, Heaven Burns Red, on my iOS mobile device.
¹ for legal reasons, this change will only be implemented if the next Eternal Winter FEE3 video doesn’t skip or gloss over the story content for the 4th year in a row
Hello! I’ve been watching zappy play this hack, and it looked so fun I picked it up myself
It’s just… Crazy, in the best ways
It also helps me with wanting to be completionist, as it’s just… Unfeasible for me to do it
Thank you very much for making it, and I’ll be waiting for any new updates
Hey, it’s really kind of you to say that and I hope the hack clicks well with you. One of my goals with this project is to populate it with a bombardment of optional discoverable stuff to the point where you’re bound to naturally find some of it as long as you’re paying attention to the story. Zappy has actually missed a decent bit of content from what I’ve seen of his run, and I really need to rewatch everything and tally up all that he’s missed for shits and giggles.
On that note, I do have to give a big thanks to Zappy for finishing a video LP of the game’s current build—you can watch the playthrough here.
He also drew this lovely specimen for one of his thumbnails, which I adore to bits:
I’ve never gotten fanart before. This is a first.
Speaking personally, I think that seeing someone engage
with something that you’ve made with a similar amount of enthusiasm as you had when making it is a really special experience. Maybe it’s hard to believe given the hack’s content but I do truly hope that people have a good time with it. So it was thrilling for me to watch someone progress through the game, and it thoroughly populated my to-do list for the next release.
here’s a sneak peek of one of the IK master lists:
There will probably be a small hotfix patch soon regarding some of the things that he caught in his run, but I’m still in the tedious process of starting fresh and manually rebuilding the ROM from the ground up, so those will only be quick fixes. The current goal for the next release is to rebuild the game up to chapter 19’s end event again—along with hopefully implementing a new feature: a Memory Garden hub area between chapters. It will be a hybrid of mainline’s Memory Prisms and Hag in White’s base camp function, and it will serve as an avenue for me to tell some of the stories that I couldn’t cram into the main plot.
Don’t forget, enter the case-sensitive promo code “SIL0624”, provided generously by our lovely sponsors, in the in-game box for a FREE set of Attack or Music™ themed chocolate cigarettes and canned coffee to multiply your in-game progression sixteen-fold!
I had some time to drop by the library yesterday, so here’s a brief update that applies bandaids to various issues that were caught in the Zappy playthrough (plus a few other things I noticed).
patch notes
- Gave the ch4 reinforcements void curse. I honestly hate doing this kind of “no fun allowed” thing in such a boringly straightforward manner, so this is a temporary bandaid fix and post-rebuild will have something more interesting happen if you fight them.
- Fixed Clement’s bases being incorrect because Warlock class bases were altered
- Temporarily disabled James/Ty talk, it’ll be re-added when it actually gets written
- Added an extra eventing check to the Ron talk in Ch17 in an attempt to combat inconsistent weirdness
- Fixed an issue where Ladon didn’t pronounce Léon’s name properly in Ch15
- Fixed an issue where a unit would silently join the party
- Fixed an issue where Candace doesn’t spawn properly in Ch9 if someone was standing on her tile
- Fixed an issue where you couldn’t actually lose Ch10 if an enemy stepped on the tile
- Fixed an issue where Chase’s secret recruitment didn’t work properly when Shelby is still alive
- Fixed an issue where a certain battle quote really should’ve had an extra reward given the intricacy of the thought process it requires for a player to obtain it
- Fixed an issue where units with Bargain wouldn’t lower Saloninus’s recruitment price
The rom has officially run out of free space. Unless something goes cripplingly wrong, this will be the last update for this particular version of the game. Future updates will be built around the post-rebuild patch.
Incredibly lucky to have discovered my library had the official IK novelization available for checkout. Finally, this hack can be playtested the way it was meant to be.
Final turn count below:
One franchise, Infinite Kings!
Wait, wrong franchise…
Ah well, looks like fun enough anyways. May give it a whirl sometime!
After 38 34 months of waiting, Infinite Kings has finally stepped foot upon the untrodden shores of FEE3. Rejoice, one and all.
Where’s my Wexp…
Just like in Four Kings, the cache of available S rank weapons is pretty limited and Prfs also tend to be really generous with wexp. I’ve never really had much issue with weapon ranks while testing outside of maybe Holland. Which units/ranks are you having trouble with?
