[FE7] [COMPLETE] Fire Emblem: The Blazing Silver PME v1.0b

By the way should we should update the tier list with all of the new units that are excluded in the Elysium Ablaze version?

@TritraSerpifeu Finished my run!

Again, everything was excellent, there was however only one very ‘intriguing’ happenstance:

In Ch 7 Dragon’s Gate, I had promo Thorne use a Heal staff on Miku, and no joke, she turned into the vanilla fire dragon during the healing animations. No combat, just one of the funniest animation glitches I have seen yet, I should had recorded it. If you want to playtest using the exact way that I’ve explained, I have no idea if it’s something to do with the chapter.

But again, that’s the only real weird glitch, rest was all good, including the ending too!

Since I was mostly messing around in my playtrough, I’ve settled with ‘Ending 3’.
Really loved it. Had a very ‘New Vegas 100 Speech’ feel lol.

Oh, I also loved the post credits cut scene! Really solid foreshadow, as well as a connection to Lyn’s Bizarre Adventure that leaves up to the player imagination.

Nothing else really to report on my end. GGs! :star:

Yeah the stack in chapter 5 of Aireth mode is what I think killed Rozaliya in my uploaded playthrough. I will look into fixing that.

Other than that, glad you liked it. And huh, that visual glitch is pretty interesting. I guess Miku cannot escape being a ninian replacement. Lol.

This might be a dumb question, but as someone who hasn’t played either version, should I play both (The Blazing Silver 1.0b) and Elysium Ablaze (when it’s released?)

Or should I just wait to play Elysium Ablaze once it’s out?

Also, which characters from TBS were removed from Elysium Ablaze?

No characters were removed. Characters were added, although a lot of characters’s join situation were changed.

Both games are different experience. TBS is a more simple FE7 PME while Elysium Ablaze does more major structural changes.

Neat. I’ll probably play both versions then; sounds like a good time either way!

In terms of what the changes are. Basically Elysium Ablaze is a shorter more focused experience. Like it has less than 20 chapters and thus it is much less of a big game. While TBS is the length of FE7. Also Elysium Ablaze has more narrative changes, being more adjusted to the new cast and also featuring own ideas/concepts.

So. I did a small run of the game of my own and what can you say:

The overpowered you rumors are true. A true Seth moment. I think I am going to make the promo gains to shaman worse, the bases worse and make it so that tactician can only grow to level 10 (Else, I dunno… I gotta think of something else. Maybe make the total growths lower to compensate. Or I can make the stat caps of the class lower.). Hopefully making the snowball harder and stuff.

I also spotted some other small mistakes. But yeah, you snowballing is something I wanna avoid as it lead to me avoiding me playing the game and just use one unit.

Yourself - Superb Mind

A tactician whose brilliance
and juggernauting potential
changed the course of history.
Bern and Etruria so desired this
skilled mind that they went to war.

My usual route is to make the tactician slow and powerful, with high skill. They won’t usually double, but they hit hard regardless.

Huh. I gave my tactician 40 % in every stat except for HP where you have 45% to give the player character a custom aspect about them. Like you cannot change the growths of yourself but since you are a blank slate self insert you growths are blank as well. I am thinking about stat caps though. Like maybe I limit the strength you can get by making it so that while in tactician you can only get 5 in each stat except HP. (4 would be the average in 10 levels and I want to allow some luck.)

Hey guys. I now started to work on the final version of Elysium Ablaze. This is like some changes I did and some talk about them.

I gave the game a new title screen! Drawn by myself! I know it isn’t the best piece of art but I do hope it gives the title screen some sense of uniqueness and charm. (Font for “Elysium Ablaze” by Jayvee Enaguas)
Title Screen:
BIG EPCI LOGOr
Original Drawing:

Other Changes: More rambly

I also thought about the Edna problem, my solution, adding in a new character to replace Edna in Aireth mode. A male pilgrim. Instead of solving the issue I just avoid it coming up. I actually even have an idea who it could be. Maybe I can change the old guy from Aireth 2 who works at the shrine and gives Aireth the Regular PRF and maybe have it be so that he joins up with them in Aireth 4 instead of Edna. He could be a Wrys kinda character, an old guy who isn’t a jagen but a weakling. Plus it would give the roster some more variety. Like the roster isn’t very old.

I also now do some QOL updates, simple stuff, but stuff that will make the game better.

And look: Triangle Attack! Only Farina has dialouge for it, but I don’t care.
TRIANGLE2
TRIANGLE

I tried to add in a Baron triangle attack. But unfortunaetly that did not work out. A shame. But hey, what can you do.

BROFELLOFF
Here is the nerfed Tactician. I kept the bases the same, but you can now only grow 4 in each stat. Which is the average for 10 levels. The best phase for you to get stronger is the tactician phase due to getting manakete levels of EXP, but now that is pretty bad, other than for luck. This means that past a certain point you are unable to grow stronger. And the promo gains are now just 1 in every stat, even Con. I think this also causing you to seem weaker. Like I hope this adds immersion. You are weak and you know that, you know that you are merely a tactician.

I also added in a new Dracoknight in Thorne 7. One who is programmed to go for breakable walls, as he spawns in the right of the map. He puts pressure on the Black Fang defects by forcing them to be connected to the rest of the map. He spawns on Turn 2 and as he needs time to walk he opens the first wall by Enemy Phase 4 and by Enemy Phase 6 he reveals the Black Fang defects and connects them with the rest of the map. I know a pretty soft timer. But I still think it adds in a nice bit of tension that makes the map better. The defects are in danger. It is just a little push but I think it is neat. In general Thorne 7 is a map that gets more quiet over time. But I think that is part of the maps identity. You are defeating the Black Fang after all, they are strong, but they aren’t many.

I also changed the strange “No Autolevel Snipers” of Thorne 2 and 3. They are now regular achers with a high level.

So yeah. I am doing good progress. I will soon add this new character idea of mine and then work on further on Elysium Ablaze! The full version! I would say I did pretty good progress on tweaking the details. Once again thanks to @AnneEgge for playtesting and giving me a lot of feedback I now work into this.

I actually adore the new title screen!

ARKADEEP
Say hello to Arkadeep. Hooray. He has lower growths than your other units, but in return he has A rank Light, Canto and Silencer. I hope that he in a similar niche to Edna, being “Strange Monks”. And as his portrait from FE7 and his role is the Lyn PRF weapon priest in both games, he is technically a FE7 character. Isn’t that neat.

Sanse
And now here is the final final character. Like now if you get every character in one run you do hit 50 character slots. The maximum. You can get Cardboard. Like he is a complete and utter joke character. He is a secret character meant to be missed. He has 160% Growth in Luck as well as a 3% Growth in Pow, Skl, Def, Res. So hey, at least you get a reward if you manage to dodge tank with this piece of cardboard.

How can I recruit SANS UNDERTALE???

Go to the bottom right corner with any unit in Aireth mode Prolouge. This won’t be hinted at in the game. I mean, the Karla of this game has been made easily accessible, so Sans is a Karla now.

More changes I made

DAMHAINT PALETTE
I now also finally started giving the new characters palettes to look more like themselves in combat. Not sure if every unit will get one, but I will still at least make some effort.

Also as in Inverse I changed the portrait for Yourself.
Considering you are either a blue tactician or a blue hooded shaman. I made you blue. I sure do love minimal effort solutions to my problems.
palettes-2

I also had a different idea for difficulty modes. I think I won’t make a separate hard mode patch. The game will be easy, but that is okay, FE8 has a lot of fans despite being a more easy and I still think it won’t be braindead easy. Like, I may make a hard mode patch in a while once I did the obligatory further patches. Because that is going to happen. After I release the main patch there will be other things I tweak because the sample size of players will be bigger.

Oh yeah. I am thinking about maybe adding in lords that can die after all. Like I would have to alter the Aireth gets a Lockpick and the Aireth and Anthea get their legendary stuff scenes. I think I will make it so that if Aireth or Anthea die the loot you get from the legendary scene could maybe be similar to the mock falcion be a worse version of the legendary weapon that anyone can use alongside the promo item they would have used if they were normal units.
But probably not, as the lords being units that stay alive is now part of the games identity.

I will also make a trailer for the games release.

So uh, I am pretty close to finishing this project now. And now the roster is finally complete. Isn’t that nice? 50+ characters all of great variety!

Edit: I think you can only get 49 in one playthrough, including Yourself who can count as two characters if you die in Aireth mode but hey. We still have a 62 character big roster. That is a lot and 18 more than in vanilla FE7!
Wow. Although I do admit there are plenty of characters I added that are more secret and filler. But I still hope the roster is strong, both filling out classes that weren’t represented yet, games that weren’t represented yet and being some fun concepts.
And I still hope that I don’t overshadow the rest of the cast, this game is still based on a PME and the infinite creativity and community of that.
I still unfortunately did not include every single character, like the king of Bern Hyaine still did not appear. But I still think I did pretty good for the most part.

Together with the release of Elysium Ablaze, I also want to announce that v1.0b of The Blazing Silver has been updated! There’s no need for the separate hotfix, you can simply download from the main mirror links in the OP while maintaining your save file.

All of the following are already implemented in v1.0b:

Changelog
  • In Dragon’s Gate, Jonah’s AI is now set to not move.

  • Fixed Bella’s class if she appears in Cog of Destiny, so she doesn’t attempt to move out of the throne to steal items.

  • Fixed names and descriptions of several weapons and items.

  • Secret Book and Divine Icon buffed to grant 4 Skl and 4 Luck respectively.

  • Fixed a small cut out in Makalov’s portrait.

  • Fixed a bug related to Lavari’s recruitment dialogue.

  • Fixed the following dialogues: Luchar’s battle & defeat quote, Kempf’s generic battle quote, Anthea’s defeat quote, and finally both Dezdana’s generic battle quote & battle quote w/ Marcus.

  • ‘The Boulder’ changed to ‘Boulder’ to properly fit in the mug box.

  • One extra of both the Knight Crest and the Veteran Belt has been added in the inventory of specific mid-game enemies. They need to be stolen from.

  • Rebalanced Narty’s bodyguards in Imprisoner of Magic; they are now all Lvl. 10 Bulwarks, wielding both Steel Lances and Javelins.

  • Fixed all enemy thieves in A Glimpse in Time so they properly have lockpicks.

  • Renamed the NPC units that accompany Armstrong in Kinship’s Bond to ‘Politicians’.

  • Fixed both Nina & Tyche’s descriptions.

  • Rebalaned Genesis; some of the enemy siege tomes in HHM has been removed, and replaced the Silver Blade with a White Gem, as well as the Talisman with a Speedwings.

  • In Marik’s version of Four-Fanged Offence, replaced all Fighters with Buccaneers.

  • Fixed some enemy cavs in Crazed Beast so they have the correct class.

  • Fixed the map animations of Holylancers.

  • Fixed Aureola so that it is recieved after the preps of Victory or Death instead.

  • Fixed Nina & Tyche’s ending text.

I consider this the final update of The Blazing Silver itself, as all of the other major gameplay changes are featured in @TritraSerpifeu’s Elysium Ablaze instead. Cheers y’all! :star:

I’m sorry if this is a dumb question but what are the differences with this and Elysium Ablaze? Is this just a PME with no rewritten dialogue and that one is using the PME characters in its own settings?

Basically, yeah. Although “Elysium Ablaze” does not fully take place in an own world. It does use the base of FE7 to tell an own story while The Blazing Silver is the same campaign with different characters.

@TheSuzakuSeven Indeed what Tritra said!

Also about the dialogue; while The Blazing Silver doesn’t change every story bit, it does rewrite a number of the most important ones (every character is properly mentioned by name).

And this also includes every single character ending. Including the paired ones.

I thought only one of them was supposed to appear.
Or maybe as soon as I recruit one of them the other one will leave?
FE7TBS - PME-314
FE7TBS - PME-315
Oh i can recruit both of them
I can get both the emblem scroll and the staves
That’s great
