The only playable characters that haven’t been updated are Dart, Harken, Renault, and Athos. Those are all on the way, plus many updates including Lyn, Hector, Florina, Fiora, Matthew, Serra, Nino, Ninian, Nils, Priscilla, and Lucius. Please look forward to it!
Does anyone have advice on how to credit creators for tileset palettes? Tileset palette updates are about 80% complete, but I need to make sure my credits are in order before that patch is released. Should I do it by chapter (Chapter 1-Plains 1 by Atlas) by tileset ( Plains 1 by Atlas-Chapter 1, Chapter 2), or some other way?
Honestly I’m slightly burning out on this project. I’m making slow progress on other portraits, and fiddling with tileset palettes, map sprites, and battle animations. Tileset palettes will be released as soon as possible. (They’re about 50% complete, but It’s slow going because of how complicated the credits document is getting) Please look forward to it!
Oh, huh, I also started doing something like this two or so weeks ago as a touch up 3.1 to post elsewhere, internally calling it the Elibe Jaundice Cured version. It’s almost exclusively palette adjustments though.
Sorry for not replying to you sooner
These look really good! hey have really pleasant contrast and are definitely easier on the eyes. I wish you the best of luck with your project!!
Serra looks AMAZING! Her eyes look so much better!
I liked how Eliwood looked before… IDK why you changed him. He looks a bit too pink. He doesn’t look bad either. But I think he looked better in the previous version.
Dart looks good. But I feel that making his shirt gray doesn’t match the colorful feel you’ve been doing with all the other portraits.
Here’s an idea: you could make his shirt blue again, but use the white of his bandana to make the stripes stand out more. Here’s a Pirate lady portrait I’ve made for my hack that you can use as reference:
I think I see what you’re saying. I went through all my portraits and gave them new skin tones, but they ended up being very pink/ cool toned. A lot of the vanilla portraits have very saturated yellow skin, so I think I failed at striking that balance. I may need to restart all of the lords’ portraits. Lyn’s is getting messier every time I touch it, and I haven’t quite nailed Eliwood or Hector’s colors.
Here’s a Dart update with the color changes you recommended: (I think he looks much better and more colorful. Thank you so much for the advice!)
I got really terribly burnt out, and was just spinning my wheels and not getting anywhere. I may revisit this project in the future (when I don’t have certain irl stuff in the way)
Believe me, I’m disappointed about this too, and I’d really love to work on this when my mental health is in a better spot
