[FE6] [Complete] Fire Emblem: The Second Scouring (v3.2)

I’m suprised the story suprisingly almost as dark geneology of war. Good job for the story writing guy’s. Hope more people try this game. The difficulty being increased from the original game or maybe it’s just me getting rusty

I love the tiles and layout of this map you designed @THE_1

Aww, thank you! I remember being very happy with how it turned out back in the day. Today I don’t know if I would be able to resist adding even more details, for better and for worse.

@Unoriginalusername Thanks a lot! And yes, the difficulty is increased by a sizable margin from Binding Blade. My goal was to keep it at or above the original title’s hard mode. (Which, by the way, makes the hack’s hard mode more akin to lunatic. It should be noted that I made no attempts to balance it, so I would only recomment it to people who really, really enjoy challenges for the sake of them.)

@THE_1 I thought I could open the cell door by resting on the red square why can’t I free Roy and Rutger in the other cell just by standing on the red square.(There is no option to unlock the door or anything). So am I suppose to clear the map by letting Roy stay in his cell

Astore can’t open the gate once I defeated Larse. Help? I had to break through Roy cell by hitting the broken wall section

So Only Roy can seize and end the map?
What about Rutger and that armor knight will I be able to recruit them at the end of the chapter?

You can’t tell me that this is not Debias reincarnated :joy:

Just got to Chapter 6 and yes I recruited Hilbert and Rutger

So I think chapter 5 need to be rework. There should be doors that Astore can unlock in those 2 cells. After unlocking the door to Rutger and Hilbert’s cell they will join you as green unit until the end of the chapter where they will join you on your journey.
With how you design the Red tiles outside the cell you are giving the signal to the player that those red tiles are special and maybe the cell door will unlock when a unit stand on those red tiles. So Please remove those Red Tiles to avoid the confusion.

Can you give chapter 6 12 deployment slot because I really want to use Hilbert and Rutger along with everyone else

@THE_1 What is taking you so long to get back on FEU to answer my post?

My game freezes on level ups and arena. Is there a recommended emulator?

Are you playing the Hack on your phone?
I am playing on my PC. The emulator I am using is mGBA and beside the Known Issues listed in the first post I have not experience any Freezing

Sorry I haven’t answered sooner. I have been busy working on my SIGURD hack for the past few days to the point where it’s been soaking up all of my spare time. It is very near completion now, and I’m looking forward to hear what people have to say once it’s released to the public.

The lack of unlockable doors for chapter 5 are due to the default tileset not having any vertical door-tiles. My solution was to imagine that Larse held the only keys capable of unlocking the cellrooms, which also explains why Rutger and Hilbert were not recruited until the end, when Larse was defeated. I’m sorry if the red tiles caused confusion, they were added just for the sake of providing additional detail on an otherwise very grey map.

Adding 12 deployment slots for chapter 6 is a good idea. The map is very challenging as it is, and so having more slots would make it easier to split the army up in two, as is intended, rather than having the player feel forced to ignore one half of the map at a time. I’ll look into this whenever a new update is released.

@AlpeXiV I use no$gba for PC with minimal hickups. There is the occassional inexplicable freeze every now and then (I’d say once every 5th playthrough based on personal experience, not counting Fimbulvetr freezes which were a thing in the base game) but resetting the game always clears the issue with no lost progress.

thank you for responding seeing you active and healthy bring a smile to my face

Can you remove them. Because seeing 2 red tiles in a sea of grey tile would send the wrong signal that these 2 red tiles is special since they are not special but is meant to give more color to the map which I think is not needed.

But what should I do now. I still want to carry on with the hack ?
Is there anyway you can make a quick patch that give chapter 6 twelve deployment slots or you could show me how to do it so I can carry on with my game.

Sure, I can show you

If you boot up the hack in FEBuilderGBA, you can choose chapter 6 to the left and then click unit placer. You will then find this menu:

After you click data expansion (highlighted in red above) you simply select the amount of allowed units, in this case 12. Note that it doesn’t actually matter which blue units appear in the unit screen so the bottom two being Roy by default after you do this will not alter gameplay.

All Done thank you for the guidance!

Reporting a bug Halberd don’t deal double damage to Nomad Horse Archer

Ugly Throne Tile but I guess this was the only way to do a seize map right?

The Halberd also don’t deal double damage to the troubadour

You don’t get to recruit Barthe and only get to recruit oiger if he is alive after finishing chapter 7? Sad :slightly_frowning_face: Was looking forward to having a General Unit in the early game

In FE6, horseslaying weapons are only effective against cavaliers/paladins. This is just carryover from the base game.

I did not know that. I just got used to FE 8’s Hacks so much. Thanks for clarifying this feature for me.

Yeah i’m playing it from my phone. I guess ill try vga

Love what you did with Lot by the way I always thought he was a simple man easily tricked by others much powerful than him

Also can we get the default 12 deployment slot for every chapter going forward from chapter 6? I am on chapter 9 and there is only 11 deployment slot.

Could even be 13 slot because how big chapter 8 is. Going to change it myself now

Love the hair color change. :red_circle:

In the Guide included in the Download files.
In Chapter 9 you forgot to mention that the Warrior has a Hero Crest with him for Astore to steal

And the fighter next to him have an Elixer

Please add these to the guide.

how do I recruit Hennie? The Guide only said:

-Recruiting and training Hennie is highly recommended to make chapter 16 more manageable, and
to provide a highly competent spare unit.

I recruited her by talking to her with Roy.

What do the player use to Promote Hennie since there was no unit with the soldier class for the player in the original Fire Emblem.

Is the Support system complete with new dialogues for everyone?
I am at a point where I want to build supprt but I don’t know if the old characters have new conversations with each other Or are the support conversation are only available for the new unit in the list provided?

I just got Roy and Lilina C Support so they do use the old support conversation. Nice!
So I guess only the new characters get new support conversation. Will be happy to find out what the conversation with the new characters will be like.
Just got a new C support conversation between Hilbert and Ogier. So Happy to see new support conversation

I wonder why You Let Wolt Leave the Party. Interested where this will lead.

Yeah, I’ll look into updating the guide. I remember putting it together rather hastily back in the day. Thanks for pointing out the missing details

Yes, Roy is the only unit who can recruit Hennie. I’ll add that to the guide in the next release. And since I wanted to keep the game’s mechanics close to vanilla, Hennie cannot promote. Instead, she has absurdly high growths which makes her a powerful unit quickly, though she will lag behind the others in the last few chapters.

Most supports are mostly vanilla, yes. Some are slightly adjusted since certain things said only made sense in the Binding Blade (for example, whenever an amount of years passing are mentioned, I’ve added three, and then there’s Shanna and Wade no longer working under Deke, and the like). Some supports between returning characters are completely new, however. Most prominently between Echidna and Wade.

And yes, the above means that all returning characters have the same support partners that they had in the Binding Blade, whenever possible.

Wolt’s development was indeed a fun ride to work out. While I had a broad outline of the story by that point in the development, what happened to Wolt in that chapter was not planned. Rather, as I was writing the dialogue, I realised it only made sense for Wolt to have enough after experiencing increasing frustration at the situation. And, as you guessed, his story is not done

Can you give me the list of new support conversation for old returning characters. I want to read them all.
In chapter 10 guide you said:

-Saul falling can be safely prevented by placing a healer on the central platform equipped
with Physic.

But a promoted Olevious and Cecilia only have C rank in Staff while Physic weapon rank is B

so my suggestion here is to lower the Physic staff weapon rank from B to C

Luckily I had a promoted Alen charging though the enemy and manage to rescue Saul.

you also did not inform the player that in this map the Enemy Hero has a Hero Crest and a Mage that have Talisman for Astore to Steal. Please add that to the guide

Uh should the Recover Staff have infinite uses like this?

Also I increase the deployment slot in chapter 11 to 15 hope you don’t mind since I feel it is a big map and there are alot of guys I want to train.

Question should I have Armads in my inventory after chapter 8 and not get Aureola after I clear chapter 10?

About the story having play to chapter 11. I feel like one of the themes of this hack is the Changing of the Guard in Elibe

is this a typo? I think you mean Klein right?

I can’t wait to drive Roy’s Sword through this annoying Bastard! :angry_face_with_horns:

I’ve never experienced Olevious having less than B rank when reaching chapter 10. Honestly, I like that it takes some effort to have the option to save Saul from afar. Especially since rushing to him, as you demonstrated, is always an option.

Yes, recover having infinite use was intentional. It is balanced by the fact that it’s the only recover staff in the whole game, so you still need to buy staves for other healers you deploy.

Thanks, I’ll add the stealing opportunities to the guide

Armads was awarded to you at chapter 8, which is what you’re seeing in Merlinus’ inventory. Aureola was not awarded to the player as Roy gave it back to the Etrurian royalty. It will return later in the story.

Out of respect to the original translation team I decided to keep the spelling of names that they used - even in the cases where it was later changed to match official localizations. This is also why Astore is not called Astolfo, Tate is not called Thea, among others.

Yep, I remember having a very fun time writing him to be a love-to-hate kind of villain  Without spoiling any details, his dialogue in chapter 20 is particularly strong in this regard, so that’s something to look forward to.

Lastly, I’ve unfortunately forgotten which old characters have new support conversations. And even as I look it’s tough to say as I never memorized many of the original supports

a cartoon cat is drinking water from a bowl .
I wish Tate has a special conversation with Shanna and Roy when they meet in battle. Do you think you can add that @THE_1 ?

Just Finish Hilbert and Ogier A support. Good Writing man. This really show unlike his cousin Hilbert really care about Lilina well being.

Reading Echidna and Wade support gave me giggles. Thanks for adding this new conversation chain man I love it :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
Wade really like to push Echidna Buttons :joy:

Your guide of chapter 15 is missing the part where Roy can recruit Anna after talking to her.
You can Clear Chapter 15 without getting Roy to the Exit?
I got Cecilia to the Exit when all the enemy show up and that clear the map. Is this intended?

in the guide for Chapter 14 you forgot to mention that you can recruit Sue in one of the small huts that is near to the final boss’s hut

Thanks. I’ll add the recruiment details

Oh my. You just reminded me. Now I might just have to reread the whole thing again. It’s been a couple of years since I last saw that support conversation :smiling_face_with_tear:

Any character being able to end chapter 15 is sort of intentional, yes. This is because, if I recall correctly, conditionals in Binding Blade are a mess to work with, so simply having any character activate it is a huge load off. In addition, it can be viewed as the character in question clearing the way for Roy, which makes a…sort-of-sense.

There was a bunch of times where I wanted to add battle conversations, but for whatever reason I could never get them to activate. That was back in the day, though, and I have learned a lot since then. Today I might discover some simple detail was missing.

I can add some conversations with Roy in the next release, yes  :+1:

First time I am seeing a Devil Sword. Did you create this new sword?

Note if I did not read your guide for chapter 16 I would not have known to clear the map by having Roy speak to Gunivere since the map objective does not tell the player to do that.
Maybe you can change the Objective in this screen to "Defend Bulgar until Roy Meet Gunivere.

Why is it that when Roy restored his Binding Blade he now have 2 copies of it
One with infinite uses and one with 20 uses?
Logically the Binding Blade with Infinite Uses should disappear and be replaced by the 20 uses Binding Blade

Why are there only 10 deployment slot for chapter 17 can you increase it to 12?
At this point I wonder why there are still chapter that only allow 10 deployment slot seeing how we get a new member to join our party(That we want to use) every chapter

A Present to convince you to give chapter 17 12 deployment slot @THE_1

Typo detected I think you mean:“As much as I hate it”
Never mind Mislike is a word. It is just weird to me because I have never seen anyone in real life use it.
