Fire Emblem: Legacy of Roy is a short, 8-chapter romhack I made over the summer based largely off of Elden Ring: Nightreign, a game with which I have spent way too many hours.
Like Nightreign, the goal of each chapter is to gather as much exp and items as you can and reach the boss within a certain time limit, to the end of quickly turning your weak, untrained units into powerhouses. Thanks to the FE6 Droppable Items Patch, you will be able to obtain exotic weapons alongside regular stealable items, though some loot will still require careful use of your thief to obtain.
In the spirit of said game, all maps are remixed versions of other maps present in FE6/FE7, and I have made a concerted effort to keep the minutiae of the hack largely faithful to base FE6, though I have fixed some of the more incongruous aspects of that game (I’m looking at you, horseslayer-immune nomads) and made modifications where they aided in the aims of the hack. Furthermore, all non-lord fallen units will return after defeat.
Story
The story takes place after a failed run of FE6 where Roy fell in battle at the last moment against Idunn, and most of his army has either been killed or driven into hiding by the manakete counteroffensive. Now you must lead Ward and a small squad of other formerly-benched units in a quest for vengeance against Idunn and what remains of Bern before Zephiel’s mad plan can be fully revived from near-death.
As this is my first publicly-available hack, I don’t doubt there’ll be poor design choices and/or bugs, so please voice any concerns of such a nature and I will do my best to learn from them (though before you do, please refer to the Known Bugs section of the readme, where you will also find credits, changes, stuff like that). If I receive enough suggestions that I feel contributes to the spirit of the hack or notices of small errors, or if anyone encounters a more serious bug, I will try to find the time to release an update.

Hi there! I’m quite interested in this hack and it looks fun.
I do want to ask something that I have a concern about: are you expected to nab all the goodies in each map? Or just some? My concern is just how much is expected of the player so they don’t get soft locked later. Thank you!
Hi! Thanks for being interested in my humble romhack lol.
I tried to not make it too demanding and added more statboosters than than anyone would really need. So long as you’re proactive about stealing and defeating enemies with droppable items you should be fine. They’ve been pretty stongly buffed too

I see! Thank you for getting back to me so quickly and thank you!
Will be sure to reach out if I have further questions or notice anything off with the game.

This has hack was certainly interesting to experience.
I felt it shone the most in earlier chapters where you don’t have too many stats on anything and are trying to balance grabbing as much stuff as you can and/or putting enough resources into a unit to defeat the boss with the turn timer.
I’ve never wished for a Merlinus or convoy so bad, though I understand why it isn’t available.
Unit Thoughts
I don’t really have too much to say about him. Strong guy.
I think it would be neat if he used this custom animation for the Armads.
No joke, probably the most important character in this hack with her steal, giving you access to the equips of units with droppables. It’s so satisfying doing it each time and such a neat use of the patch.
Definitely the intended way to defeat Zwei (though I can curious if Fir can do it), it was a pretty fun puzzle to solve. Also your first healer. I thought his held Member card combined with chapter 2 being Victory or Death meant it had the secret shop at the same location, especially since you spawn near it, should probably block up that tile tbh.
Sort of Jagen for the run. He was at his best in chapter 1, tanking the hero. He still has contributions later, but definitely falls off a bit.
He was eh. Should’ve trained him earlier.
Before promotion she has exactly 1 job: wield the Wyrmslayer. Post-promotion she’s a beast with the stockpiles of Wo Daos.
I love Dorothy so it’s a shame she’s the worst unit in the hack. What hinders her the most is her single weapon type combined the turn limit per map. If she promoted to Ranger or something she might be usable but alas.
Really sad unit when you get her but as soon as you promote her you can have your fun with the warp staves you collected in previous chapters.
Some Bug Reports
On Chapter 3, There’s this unit that can’t use his equip
On Chapter 6 turn 26, Roy’s Dialogue from 20-Illa plays
In the ending screen, Ward still uses Roy’s title and ending.
