Some early notes with save transfer for those who played fe9re:
- The new fe9re+fe10re rom accepts the old save fine, but will glitch out if you are in the middle of a chapter.
- This means that if you finished fe9re, you gotta do the final chapter once again. The game will transition to fe10 immediately afterwards; there is no chance to switch difficulty or growth setting.
- Sothe carries over literally everything: class, stats, skills, inventory. You might end up depriving yourself of a lock picker if you promote him to anything other than Rogue/Whisper, or you can port over OP stuff to help the rest of the Dawn Brigade. For reference, this is my Sothe at the start of c1-3
Maybe Iâm just too bad at playing, but I tried the highest difficulty and I still canât pass chapter 2, I think that for anyone who wants to try it, get ready⌠
Oh and congratulations for completing it! 
Yes, maniac mode is super hard. If you donât have a very clear strategy, donât try it first.
A laundry list of broken things that I have some time to compile, more still coming soon:
- These ballistae are still broken wtf, broken range indicator and Strength-ignoring part is not working, so enemy are getting 48total atk on maniac.
Pls just remove the ballista altogether, itâs clear that it has always been glitched in fe9re 3.0, and is never going to be fixed.
- Bowguns are also broken, the character strength ignore part is not working so bowgun users are getting insane attack power.
- Chapter 2-P maniac absolutely requires several rigs in a row to complete, as Elincia has about 45 hit rate against lance draco knight, Marcia cannot kill things quickly enough and Nealuchi canât transform turn 1.
- Chapter 2-E is very broken:
The bottom door that is normally destroyed in fe10 instead requires a door key, and the enemy does not have any way to open it. If you promote Heather to something other than rogue (such as swordmaster), you have no way of opening it either.
Map does not end after 12 turns of defend, instead the boss needs to be defeated. If you have no way of opening the door, the game is soft locked.
The walls are solid and cannot be flown over by fliers. - There are literally 0 shops in the game for part 1 and 2 (and presumably also part 3) to compensate for fe10 merchant, I canât go to the castle to restock things and currently am forced to rely on iron weapons.
- Branching promos for Sothe and Heather are good, but the player will be unable to open doors/keys when promoting them to non-rogue. A way to acquire door key and chest key is badly needed.
- The whole save transfer thing did not turn out well, because all old characters are transfered including the ones that got benched, and nobody has the time to grind character that they are never going to use. Old inventory and storage are also transfered, so a character might end up being unarmed, or the player can port over a bunch of maxed bishops with 254% crit Purge to break the game.
Emmmm, I think the problem happens in maniac mode. Again, if you fell it is hard, that what we want.
- There is no range indicator because it is a special effects weapon.
- 2-P you can use haar.
- 2-E you can use calill. I donât think there is soft locked.
- In our design, you cannot go to the castle because you are not free. In the story you know that Micaiah is in Dean and Elincia is in Crimea.
- For the save transfer, I think we have already put the descrption above. All things will be inherited.
Itâs fine if itâs hard but the issue is that it seems you have to rig in order to progress on Maniac. Luck shouldnât be the name of the game, skill should
We think rig is part of fe. We donât treat it as luck, we treat it as strategy. I think the problem will happen becuase of the culture difference. In China, all of us use VBA for playing, which means you can s/l everytime if you want to be better. And this drive us to design things like Moniac. I understand the conditions because even for me without rig Moniac is extremely hard too. But for the old players who are still playing in gba we think they are good enough to know all the strategy.
So basically we should treat maniac as Kaizo/Super Thracia, right?

So you basically designed the game to have to be saved and loaded, to even manage maniac mode?
To be that doesnât sound like strategy, youâre just redoing small parts and hoping you get lucky and donât die/get a critical. That takes the fun out of the game if youâre constantly using save states in my opinion

I donât understand your words. If you want to just have fun why not try the ez mode. If you want to challenge yourself why not try moniac. I think I put the descriptions in the OP and explained many times. For the challenge, you should have some rules right? I know we can try 0 growth or -1 growth in fe7 or 8. So thatâs my point.

Because, as is, maniac mode is just âluckâ mode. Doesnât feel like a challenge just a gamble and a rig.
