the twisted joke is that I voted for Nino in FE7 instead of remembering Nergal just kind of Seems Cool™ and would’ve been funny, and I watched a character analysis video on him once.

Hm… was it the “she feels more like a caricature and Marianne is a more accurate portrayal of anxiety” one?
Because as someone with anxiety, I’ve always seen Marianne as depression, not anxiety. I relate to Bernie better. (And I think she probably has a strong back form all the archery practice)
