Same place the return option is in the level lol. I believe in free roam you have to press the start button to open that menu. Which by default is assigned to S.

I can’t help but feel I’m horribly under-leveled for chapter 9 or missing something, 70% of my squad can’t survive being hit or land a hit on the enemies who are promoted, even my Kree who is level 7 can’t hardly fight them. Not to mention Jonas, having 100% hit on my avo buffed dodge tank who was on a pillar. It just feels like I should’ve been able to free roam between chapters 8 and 9 or something. whole team just feels weak.
Odd, I haven’t noticed too much trouble with Chapter 9 lately, but I’d be happy to check it out.
Just to double check, are you playing with a save from an older version?
I’m on the latest version, I think the truth of the matter is likely I need to start over and just make more use of earlier free roams to be honest, some of my team is quite a few levels lower than others, I just felt as thought there would be one before the big fight so I put it off I think. The Jonas part, that was a big shock though lol.

Jonas certainly earned his nickname lol. “The Whale” indeed.
I will say there are tools in the level to help deal with him. Specifically certain status staves you can find in the locked cells.
I just did a bit of testing with a group of units leveled to 11, which isn’t quite as high as I’d expect the party at this point. And the scariest part was trying to fight promoted units who were on pillars. A good tactic for that is just getting them off there lol, but I did go ahead and move the first two promotes you run into in 9 off their pillars, so that’ll at least be different for the next update haha
If you do want to go ahead and do some skirmishes, you can turn on debug so you don’t have to start over completely.
You can then reload a save from the end of 7 and do some skirmishes then.
If you edit the config file in the saves folder you can turn debug from 0 to 1 and then the all saves option will be available from the title menu.
funny enough I think lvl 11 is where most of my party is except for like august and giovanni. I think I’m gonna start a new run in the end though, be a bit more gold efficient now that I know somewhat what’s in some of those early secret shops.

I wish you luck, you can always try modified if you want a change of pace for your second attempt lol.

Hello, gotta ask how do I gain supports in this? Is it per chapter I get points for supports or is it more of vanilla FE?
It’s both. You get a set amount of points for finishing a chapter with paired units alive, but you also get points in the normal FE ways as well. Waiting near, engaging in combat near, interacting with. Should mention there is a cap on the amount of points you can gain in a chapter though, so waiting for 100 turns in a row won’t do all that much good lol
