GAME OVER RISE OF ANGRYWOOD
So, we’re going through these, eh?
What did happened back then?
- Survived through two whole semesters
- Learned to love myself more
- Lost my dear grandpa like 3 months ago, which made me a bit heartbroken, but must continue the fight against the world.
- Like last week, I started to use FE Builder and already have some wild ideas lol
May the New Year brings you all the love, happiness and slaying energy! ![]()

Sorry for your lost man, grandma passed this last april as well, cooked one of her recepies last night. fortunately my aunt had my smaller cousins over. Kids really brighten up our days, still, first new years without grandma.
Ooh, retrospective time. Nice
This year I…
- Stopped trying to make one big hack by myself and instead start making a smaller one to set up the world I want to create.
- Participated in my first FEE3 with my own trailer no less (Scratch that off the bucket list)
- Made some good acquaintances/friends here
- And as of right now? Uploaded my first Demo for said smaller hack
It’s been an interesting and rough year for sure, but I’m happy to have seen it through. I drink this glass for us. We all made it, and may this upcoming year be fruitful and kind to us all.
It’s hard for me to recall what happened this year and what was years past, but I’ll take a stab at it:
- Continued thinking about how it’d be nice to work on the reboot of Aletheia- I think I poked at the buildfile?
- Worked on a new project set in Aletheia’s world, because I’m incapable of focusing
- Won MAPPY epicstyle (woo citrus we did it)
- Finished Iron Emblem Gaiden, meaning I finally get to say I have a complete full-length hack, to show for the last 5 years or so that I’ve been doing FE hacking
I’m hoping for 2025 to be productive and transformative for myself, both personally and with respect to FE hacks. Let’s see what happens.
2024 sure was the year of all time, huh. a lot has happened, and i hope to be able to continue being part of this community
anyways, heres some main things that happened
- got more involved with the community, even if during the summer i was barely there
- my grandfather died. it was rough for a good while, but i accepted it eventually.
- played my now favourite game of all time fully.
- Got back to playing FE, thanks to a friend of mine asking me if i wanted to playtest his project
- this prompted me to finally decide on making a full hack, which has some very basic things done
- also learned buildfiles because ot sounded fun
- made a low quality blitz “rebalance” to be able to say that i posted a hack before
there isnt really much left to say, i do plan on having something for fee3 2025 at least, as well as maybe entering a contest or two.
Uh, 2024…
-Visited England and then France.
-Put out a new wave of animations for commission work. Went for a lot of tough designs and motions to push myself to a new level of work.
-Put many of said commissions into my first FEE animation showcase video. Seemed to have been pretty well received.
-Did some work for others’ commercial projects, which will hopefully come out eventually.
-Started writing again, potentially for a new hack.
-Didn’t get fired from my main job yet.
It feels like a fair amount happened but my life didn’t really change much. Hopefully that’s just this stuff building up to a big break sometime soon. Here’s to hoping for a better year.
2024 FEU Rewind When?
- Picked FE GBA hacking back up in January.
- Created Arms of Valor.
- Started to get decent at mapping and eventually started commissions.
- Dropped Arms of Valor and restarted the project.
- Participated in my first FEE3.
- Created a failed Mapping contest.
- Released the first demo for TOV
- Worked on and made maps for 8 projects.
- Started the FEU Hack Awards with Trikki Nikki (shout out)
- Started to other TBA projects that will hopefully be done within the next decade.
The hacks I played this year:
- Dark Amulet
- Scion of Jaskr
- Dune Star
- Jeta’s Quest
- Cerulean Crescent
- Dream of Five
- Fractured Powers
- FE8 Reforged
- Blessed Heart
- Call of Armor
- Bloodlines
- Unity War
- Dawn Never Comes
- Liberty’s Beacon
- Seven Siblings
- Duty Calls (Playing RN)
- Curse of Lagdou (Playing RN)
2024 was the year I actually got into hacking instead of just dabbling in it once in a while. Last year I’ve:
- Created a CELICA submission using C for the first time, which won 3rd overall.
- Made a MAPPY hack alongside an irl friend, which got zero votes (but two awesome people nominated it for Mini Hack of the Year so it’s fine)
- Submitted an SHPC entry older than FEBuilder, which was totally my plan from the start and not a last-minute idea after scrapping my original submission.
- Contributed 1.5 chapters to a cool phone project.
- Posted a creator thread with some portraits and converted tracks.
- Played some LT games, realized that it’s totally awesome, and proceeded to keep hacking FE8 instead of using it anyway.
- Finished university, found my first “proper” job, and moved countries.
CELICA was definitely the highlight of the year for me, for obvious reasons. I’ll probably keep making mostly contest entries in 2025, so I’m looking forward to those! Surely, they won’t be as bad as SHPC, right?
…Oh no.
2023 and 2024 kind of meld together since everything I’ve done this year and last year lead up to me announcing my first ever major project that I’ve ever done: Shantaemblem. I’ve done a few small things before but nothing like this. But this year, I have:
- Created over 50 unique animations (this year) for my project
- Reached chapter 10 out of 14 in Shantaemblem. It feels weird working for so long and only having such a small amount of chapters.
- Learned how to properly edit and create tilesets
- Entered my Project into FEE3 and received a positive reception.
- Received criticism for the first time which I am happy to finally get. I’ve been working in silence for so long that I don’t really know what is good and bad.
- Got a raise in my real world job as an Electrical Engineer.
It doesn’t seem like a whole lot but thats mainly because animating takes so long to do. But that is okay. Hopefully portraits are something I can nail down so that I can have something really special to show this year.
A nice way to end off my first year in the FE community, I suppose.
- Actually finished all three GBA games on their hardest modes
- Got into Fire Emblem Romhacks
- Joined FEU officially
- :3
- Learned how to splice :o
- Revived GAMERS
- Survived my first year in college and survived another semester
- Finished three hacks
- :3
- Made units out of friends which spiraled into wanting to make my own hack - have some portraits and the beginnings of a storyboard now so that’s cool
- Watched FEE3 for the first time ever.
- :3 :3
I’m always in awe of what people are putting out there, can’t wait to see what 2025 will bring to the FE hacking scene :)!
Hmm, let’s see:
- Continued workin’ on Steel Will. Hoping to complete it chapter-wise within the next two to three months.
- Submitted yet another trailer for Steel Will. Pretty proud of it, learnin’ I’m not that crazy about editing.
- Participated in Celica, a major improvement from my Marth entry.
- Found out that I cannot decide between FE11 or FE6 as my favorite Fire Emblem game.
- Further improving my musical and artistic skills.
- Very recently, been starting to work on the FE Romhacking Wiki.
So yeah, nothing too world shattering honestly. Next year will be one unlike any other, that’s for sure. Happy new year!
Uhhhhh this was a year!
-Worked very hard on polishing my style
-Was mostly on and off in terms of art, but mainly on
-Got back into stuff that I wanted to learn for awhile(portraits and animations)
-Finished a couple of FE related commissions
I’d rather not post about the bad that happened cause this year was pretty bittersweet in varying ways, but I am proud of my art achievements!
