In mappy you can’t.

You open it in a text editor and change the directory it points to. Takes two seconds.

fairly, if you do use Mappy then you’ve probably had to build a Unix GUI interface to hack the mainframe, purely out of necessity to make the tile changes work

There isn’t a big difference between them. Just a tool and either of them works well, so I wonder why you think Mappy is better.

but for serious, tiled is worse for a lot of actual reasons
like changing tileset mid map
or the amount of layers
or the compatibility of the exported files
or the fact that it teaches people that spamming tiles is good
or opening a file
or exporting an image without grids
the only thing tiled can do is map changes, which you can do in notepad
