That I can get behind
Imagine a Fire Emblem game with a more “Megaman Zero” style look.
Cyber swords and axes, bows replaced with blasters, etc.
FE8 has the best soundtrack in the series
I like the arena system in fe 4. It was very unique and comfortable. You could level up without having to skip a turn for this unit
My turn! Let’s see if this are really hot or not:
-Virion is my favourite character of the series.
-I prefer fixed growths over normal growths anytime of the day.
-Fog of War should disappear from Fire Emblem forever.
-Dragons are amazing Final Bosses (some just deserve better characterization)
-Supports were the best idea Fire Emblem implemented in all his history.
Fire Emblem 1 is the best version of the War of Shadows both narratively and in gameplay. Fe3 Book 1 is incomplete, and Shadow Dragon censored and changed many plot points, made Marth a whiny, vengeful edgy brat, and added cringe OCs in the gaiden chapters.
Kris is secretly a well-written character and Edelgard and Rhea should have gotten Therapy.
There’s like a myriad of characters that should’ve gotten therapy in three houses tbh
MA MAN!!
It doesnt even have to be something crazy out there I loved how far they went with birthright’s Japanese inspired setting and we should get more that are like African inspired, Mayan or Aztec, greco-roman, Ancient Chinese or Mongolian, like there’s a whole world to draw from beyond fantasy medieval Western Europe.
Jaffar should stay away from Nino forever and ever ,as well as bury himself into a hole where the sun never shines
He never suits her.
They could do that, but honestly, It wouldn’t be Fire Emblem for me(Although they may be great games.)
I have no idea why this take is so hot, but I think the story mode of FEWarriors is good enough gameplay-wise to be engaging and fun.(Not talking about the story, because I could only give the coldest take or lie about it.)
I dis-like Horse Emblem and think it narrows character choice/design; That is, everyone promotes to having a horse, and having canto and 7+ move are the two most important parts of meta gameplay
Anyone who joined from awakening onward is as much a fan as the Kaga OGs
FEX/ Lex Talonis are not the future of fan games
Gameplay/story/world integration is more important to me than being “well-balanced” when it comes to unit and map design, or at least I find it much more interesting. Maps where how they’ll play turn by turn is rigidly mapped out are mechanically-engaging in the moment but I tend to find them ultimately kinda forgettable comparatively.
Other eventual Fire Emblem entries should stop having avatars as main characters.
I only really liked Robin’s role, and I never really needed an avatar in order to feel immersed in a Fire Emblem game’s story.
Echoes: Shadow of Valentia was a nice break that showed us how having established main characters can still make a story great.
Also, have said main characters bring forth more LGBTQ+ representation.
FE3 and FE8 are the closest FE has gotten to perfect. Everything those games did was great. All complaints, in my opinion, are baseless conjecture. In a similar vein, Erika and Ephraim individually are the best lords in the series.
Also I think this is more controversial than a hot take, but FE8 has the absolute best story of any FE game, none even come close to it.
Edit: Also Kaga era is the best era overall and FE12-now is horrible. (Also I think this is more controversial than a hot take).
About half the things you said are pretty widely agreed upon.
But EVERYTHING you said about FE8 is generally COMPLETELY disagreed on.
Most people see the opposite of how you feel about FE8 lol.
Only Three of the main series Games in the series have good politics and one of those games only has good politics in one of it’s 4 routes.
my favorite games in the series are fe2 and fe6
Ellen is given way more hate then she deserves as a unit.
FE7 is really boring to play
