Tips for creating the World Map of the hack

Hello, how you do?
As far as I know, the creation of a hack is to create your story as you wish and desire.
Not always a good hack brings the map of the fictional continent.

But ! When creating a hack, and is going to bring the WM,
what tips would you recommend me to do to the map?

Is this a technical question (how to insert the map into the hack), or a creative question (how to decide what the map should look like)?
