I assume I was supposed to recruit Orlaith in chapter 8? She kinda just ran off the map, so I guess I didn’t have a chance to go back for her.
Anyone know if you get a chance to recruit her again later, or is that your only shot?

If you didn’t talk to her in chapter 8, she’s gone.
Alright. Thanks!
Progress update! I kind of wish that my rate of playing wasn’t going at a snail’s pace, but whatever. I’m getting through it, slowly but steadily.
On chapter 11 now, no promoted units yet but I’m getting close (I almost always wait till level 20 to promote.) Current best units on the team are Phobos (Man’s rockin’ those HP/Str/Skill/Speed level ups. Defenses aren’t super high, but they’re there, so he can take some hits too. Dude might not have the personality for it, but at least in my run he’s a goddamn killing machine!
Begona’s probably my next best. Lots of HP, lots of str, lots of speed, some luck and skill, and pretty much no defenses. She’s a glass cannon, but a powerful one at that.
Soter’s starting to slow down (in more ways than one.) He’s been my main anima user up till now, but if his offenses don’t improve it might be time to put him out to pasture.
And Kyra’s solid too. Speed’s on the lower side, but she’s at least not getting doubled by enemies. Hits like a truck though!
The spoiler options are still there. The editing interface has just been updated, so everything is slightly different now. You can get to the spoiler stuff by pressing the circular icon with the +
Yeah, I did end up finding the spoiler option, but as luck would have it my internet DID shut me out last night. Wrote up a bit about chapter 10 only for the internet to crap out and not save it. Oh well.
Summarizing what I attempted to write last night.
Even if Pheme’s death hadn’t been spoiled for me a while ago, it honestly wouldn’t have caught me by surprise anyway. There were a LOT of flags there; I knew something bad was going to happen to her.
As for the ‘Necromancer…’ RIP to your buddies, dude. I went in totally gung-ho, so no Polonius on my team this run. If he really is recruitable, by doing what I would assume to be a ‘peaceful’ run of chapter 10 (or at least only targeting the sellswords) it sounds like he would’ve joined.
Ah well. I considered restarting the chapter and then decided to just keep going as is. Just means I have more to look forward to in the eventual NG+.
EDIT (rather than making a second post)
Friggin’ internet…
Tried to make another post last night, which didn’t save
Again
I
I really need to get this looked out, this is more than just a 'reset the modem/router issue…
Anyways, back to relevant THiW posting
DEFENSE IS FOR THOSE WITH DOUBT IN THEIR HEARTS
v2.1 released!
While unit deaths inevitably lead to less convos, Alonso drew the short end of the stick because he has one main partner for convos and people miss him often. Since I was pretty mean to him in 2.0, I’m giving him a treat. Better late than never! And, while I’m at it, have a bunch of extra writing bits to find. Just as a bonus.
In any case, with the fixed growths glitch out of the way at long last, I think that’s it. I know I’ve said this before, but save for any major bugs coming up, this will likely be the last patch Hag gets. Just about a year after development began. And what a fun time it has been.
Alas, all good things must come to an end. So… One last time, everyone!
Post games issues?
And… how did you fixed the growth skills and items thing?
Nothing important, just a couple of incorrect enemy inventories, text issues and a weird thing where a unit’s portrait got replaced by Sandraudiga for no discernible reason.
As for the fixed growths issue, I was directed to the file where the patch disables the growth modifiers, and I modified a line of code so that it doesn’t. There’s a chance the mind scroll specifically might mess with leveling depending on when you give it to the unit, but… Ehhh. Honestly, I’m just more interested in the two units with growth skills functioning properly.
So I played the postgame of the white Hag, and here is what I have to say:
Remark on some Characters :
Mopsus:Never gave that cavalier boss a chance. He probably really sucks considering his unimpressive growths and bases. I regret not using him, missing on the eventual battle convos (for example with evil Polycles) or the opportunity to humiliate bosses with him.
Dolus V:I love that kid. It was a blast levelling him all the way to 20/20,and killing Dolus with him. Not to mention, he proved worthy with his superb skill (Canto +) and good stats (though the poor was forced to always have an oplon guard or stay near his mum). Also, I find amusing how fire_emblem_lord-like he is. Had you posted the characters sprite in advance, people could have thought he was the MC. Instead the poor guy die after missing an 89 hit.
Dolus : He may be evil, but he is completely busted. With the help of his silence staff he completely shuts down ennemy mages.
Sandy :A good tank, especially useful to me for her mastery of dark magic.
Sandy(second run) :Very funny to use. Can complete maps by herself, with the only place she needs assitance being the final map. Not to mention, she also steals Soter place.
Weird question: started a new game since I’ve been on and off on it before the 2.0 and I could have sworn there used to be an in-game speed up feature. Am I just misremembering?
Love the characters in this btw. Very memorable cast for a romhack! Big fan of Tiresias, the bandit trio and Pluto ![]()
No, I’m afraid you’re misremembering. In-game speed up tech exists for FE8 hacks, but it’s kinda finnicky and Hag has the ability to skip animations at will by holding L, so I didn’t think it was necessary.
Glad you enjoy the sillies! The bandits are basically the most popular characters in the game. Love to see it.
Planning to update this game to the latest version as I am very much behind. I saw the changes and saw one of my favorites received quite a bit of love In the stat department and apparently a extra new boss conversation. I was sad to miss out on Dahl the second time playing due to picking the other margrave But he was one of my favorite’s, I’m for sure going to make him fight every other boss until i fish out that battle quote.

I did my boy dirty the first time. He’s still far from the best unit in the game, but magic and the lance in his inventory at least make him stand out a bit more.
Happy hunting for that battle quote - it may not be what you’d expect!
One of the chests (i think on the Elias battle map) has a prf sword called the Mop which boosts his stats by like 10/20 each, so while without it he’s dogshit, he can become good with the Mop sword
I’m not sure what battle quotes are new and which aren’t but I’ve been finding the the most random boss quotes this playthrough and I’m loving it lmao. Found one with David + Scymerius which was a really cool lore drop and adds to his mystery. And right now I accidentally stumbled upon a battle conversation with Goliath and Pluto when trying to give him some exp. really funny conversation Pluto tries his best to look cool
So I beat the hack and the post game. 10/10 incredible experience, best romhack for FE I’ve ever played. And I mean the BEST, unquestionably.
That being said, does the game keep track of if I’ve beaten it? I wanted to do a 2nd run on Story difficulty to see what’s new but I don’t know how to tell if I’m getting any new dialogue or if I’m actually on NG+. Does the second run answer anything about who Scymerius actually is?
Can I still use my 2.0 save if I update the rom to 2.1?
Can I still use my 2.0 save if I update the rom to 2.1?
Yes!
That being said, does the game keep track of if I’ve beaten it?
It does! There’s a few new changes on a new game+ run: you can save the unit who dies if they get a Master Seal before the traitor kills them, Demeter’s dialogue when visiting the magic weapon ruins changes to acknowledge your return, and you get an option to make a choice in chapter 16 that Kyra wouldn’t canonically make.
Does the second run answer anything about who Scymerius actually is?
None of the information to piece together Scymerius’s backstory is inherently locked behind a second run, but it’s something you have to piece together through battle quotes against certain bosses and camp conversations that depend on certain choices, so it’s quite likely to miss the pieces of that puzzle on a first playthrough. If you want hints about where to find the key pieces: have Scymerius fight their old employer, recruit Scymerius and Fructuoso for your two mercenaries to see their camp conversation after a certain lategame event, and look for boss quotes against Alastor and his lieutenants. There’s other convos elsewhere that also tie into it, but those are the main ones.
The former was actually there since release. Latter one is new to 2.1. Good finds!
