Kinda doubles as a “Shovel” brigand? who knows, Anyways, lance brigand battle animations in progress, and as at the moment of writing this, that animation also looks like he’s wielding a shovel, expect a still of it coming soon.
I plan to make it spin the spear mid jump to reverse grip the spear so the point (tip? an actual weapon expert please correct me on this) his the enemy unit instead of leaving it as is and looking just like a reskined axe animation.
As about the promotions, the lance brigand can promote into the raider (a lance berserker (basically a glass cannon halberdier)) or a wolf rider which is a mounted class that has good speed but lower strenght cap than an unmounted berserker or warrior (whether it’s weak againsnt horse slayer weapons is still being debated)
as always, feedback is appreciated.
(note: I won’t put stills into the google drive as when the battle animation is done you could just extract the first frame from it’s folder.)
quick question, am i doing this the right way? i just noticed that i’ve never done pierce frames before, or even if im drawing this correctly? I think I backed myself into a corner.
Another question: Would it be better for the ranged crit to be the normal melee brigand cry animation then the throw or to try and adapt the normal hand axe crit?
For pierce frames, the left half renders in front of the enemy. While the right part renders behind the enemy. So on the left half, you want to “cut out” the part that is piercing, and only have it on the right half. Also, it’s OK to have overlap between the two halves.
Not so quick question, am I allowed to use a sprite sheet uploaded in the spriters resource from an already existing IP (in this case, castlevania) with me providing credits to both the company that owns said IP and the person that uploaded the sprite sheet to the spriters resource in order to make a GBAFE battle animation? how would credits work if I’m indeed allowed to publish said animation?
Gaibon from Castlevania (the one from symphony of the night)
It’ll probably come with an accompanying monster locked spell
credits: original spritework made by Konami, sprite sheet uploaded to the spriters resource by elpegaso7, still made by me. If I’m not allowed tu put this on here, I’ll gladly take it down.
btw, is the pallete on the top right done correctly? this is the first time I do an animation that is not a reskin of a vanilla or a weapon swap.
