After seeing the new “formations” mechanic in FE Switch, it reminded me of an old concept that @BwdYeti and I had developed for a hypothetical FE7 Remake. We designed something similar where you would have access to various commands that impacted the entire party, rather than FE Switch’s system where it impacts an individual unit. The orders are available based on tactician stars and affinity, making these seemingly arbitrary mechanics far more impactful to the game. Once an order is unlocked by reaching a rank, you do not lose it if your rank drops. Only one order can be active at a time, and can be changed at the start of each turn.
